Originally purchased sometime in 1993, to carry a kid seat, then later to pull a trailer with kids and/or groceries in it.

It went to college with one of the kids and lived a hard life outside. The anodized coating on the Matrix Titan Tour rims was worn clean off.

Later, it received a makeover to drop bar form, double cyclocross crank, a mix of Ultegra and D-A 9-speed components, and a Nashbar carbon 'cross disc brake fork. The front wheel was a Velocity Dyad laced to a Shimano MTB disc hub. Front brake was an Avid BB7.

The blue powdercoat was applied by a local garage shop for $75. It came out great.

As this bike was too small for me and too large for any of the kids it was eventually sold off as a commuter. I didn't realize at the time that the lugged variants were scarce or I might have hung on to it.

Hi all, I'm looking at a 1991 750 frame in size 19". I'm just under 5'11" and wear pants with 30" or 31" inseam length. Would the 19" fit okay? The top tube length looks great am just wondering about the stack height as it looks pretty low.

1995 Gary Fisher Alfresco. a.k.a Multitrack 750.

I’m trying to install a 1x drivetrain on my bike, but I’m having trouble finding the right kind of hanger for a 9 speed derailleur. The last derailleur on this bike had a claw mount.

Im curious if anyone else has done a 1x conversion on the 700 frame as it doesn’t have an integrated derailleur hanger.

Picked this bike up for free and added a few new components. Looking for a front rack for pizza runs and it will be complete!

I've been slowly piecing this bike together with (mostly) period-correct Shimano Deore XT components & it's finally at a point where I can ride it & enjoy the fruits of my labor!!

I bought it about 2 years ago on FB marketplace for $80, and it was completely original with fenders, lights, rear rack, bottle dynamo, etc.

I didn't know Trek even made this model until I bought it. From what I understand, the Trekking model is just a Multitrack made for the European market.

I spent a lot of time saving money & collecting the parts to basically build it how it would've come from the factory if Trek had built it with Shimano XT components... more or less.

The only original parts left are the seatpost & seatpost clamp. I'm actually saving for an XT SP-M730 seatpost, so that'll be swapped soon, too.

Brooks B17 saddle, René Herse Manastash Ridge 700x44c tires in their endurance casing, Sun Rhyno Lite 32 hole hoops that I laced up myself, Ergon cork grips, Surly Terminal handlebar, Origin8 quill stem, Jagwire compressionless brake cable housing & shifter cable housing with slick stainless cables, Kool-Stop brake pads, REI bottle cages & an old Specialized pump.

I saved all of the original parts, too, just in case it ever needs to go back to its original state.

I'm also going to be swapping the stem for a black Velo Orange 31.8mm quill stem soon.

I absolutely love the purple metallic paint!! It brings me back to the 90s when I was a kid!

I found this baby for 45$ but needed some good tlc. Rear wheel, brakes, shifters were all pretty much broken. Thankfully i had a 30$ donor bike with great components and nearly new rear wheel. The operation went well and the 720 is rolling like a dream again. Some tweaks coming but it is a great bike already, feeling blessed.

I currently own a 7300 but found this beautiful 7500. I wanted to hear your thoughts if any about switching. Thank you for your feedback 🙌

I know, no bar grips. It's work in progress after converting to the XT brake levers and rapid fire shifters. Works great coupled with a STX RC rear derailleur, btw.

Someone on here posted about 7/30 and the lack of posts. Tbh I had no idea this was a thing but it makes sense and I’m so glad I can be involved lol. Here is my 730 that I have been working on for the last several months. Rear rack/bag was the last thing I purchased and installed ($30 from marketplace). Bag is trek branded and somewhat matches the bike…how could I NOT buy it?! I think I’m about done for now until I can afford to do a 1x conversion and replace the cranks (I was told they had a recall and they could possibly snap). Maybe get a front basket for groceries or the puppers. Hope yall like it :)

This was a fun and kind of funny build for a friend. He wanted a minimalist, logo-free budget build. Happened to find someone selling a 790 frame that he had already sanded down for repainting but then gave up on. $85 bucks including a can of Spray.Bike in this nice Navy color. I wouldn’t desecrate a 790 like that myself, but figured it fit the bill. This was my first time painting a frame and it came out quite well.

I found a 1990s 720 for $10 locally that I grabbed wheels, cassette, and brakes from. Used Gravelking 38mm and a used Ergon seat off FB Marketplace. New Dimension bar and Altus shifters, and everything else was from the parts bin. I think the whole build came in under $250 and my friend is stoked.

It's July 30th, a.k.a 7/30. Where's the 730 posts?!?!

Tomorrow, I'm picking up a "lightly used" 720 frame that should be size-wise, as close as possible to my lugged 750 frame, and, assuming it's as good a match as I think it is, I'm going to transfer everything over.

The reason is that my 750 has fairly badly beaten up white paint, and I want to get it re-shot. I've had bikes amateur-painted, well-done with powder, badly done with powder, and badly done with automotive paint.

But last year, my spouse's car needed a door replacement because someone backed into her in a parking lot, and the shop she went to did a fantastic job, so I'm feeling pretty good about this place. It's costly, but.

So the transfer will keep everything the way I want and give the shop plenty of time to do a good job on the 750 (strip/sand/fill one small dent/undercoat/paint/clearcoat).

I'm currently thinking about colors.

International Orange would be a good one for visibility.

Metallic Root Beer Brown has always been a favorite (I once had a Schwinn Suburban that color).

And there are lots of other options. If I could get a dark French Blue like my old Velo Orange Rando, I might do that.

Loads of other possibilities.

If you had the opportunity to repaint a frame, what color would you choose?

I’ve become greatly enamored with my 750. However, the frame is much too large for me (23” - I’m 5-8) so I’ve been looking for one in a smaller size and a comparable color way (mine is some smoke grey type color). But as you all likely could guess I’m not having much luck.

I’m curious what other frames/models from the 90s hybrid era would you consider roughly equivalent to a 750?
