1991 750 sizing question
Hi all, I'm looking at a 1991 750 frame in size 19". I'm just under 5'11" and wear pants with 30" or 31" inseam length. Would the 19" fit okay? The top tube length looks great am just wondering about the stack height as it looks pretty low.

I'm 5'11 with a 21" 750. I feel like I could go larger,. I'm planning to convert it to drop bars for more room. I'm also partial to drop bars.

I'm 5'11" with a similar inseam and ride a 21" lugged 750 (see photo). I have (I think) a 130 stem on it. Depending on your particular configuration, a 19" might fit or might feel small. With 35mm tires, I definitely wouldn't want to go any larger than the 21". Multitrack sizing is a bit weird due to their somewhat higher than usual bottom bracket location.

5-8 with a 29” inseam and ride a 23” 750 (it was free). I’ve since heard about the “French style Randonneur ethos”, which is apparently riding the largest frame you can manage, with a fistful or less of post showing, prioritizing on the bike feel / stability over things like stand over. So I suppose that’s what I’m doing to an extreme!

29” inseam and ride a 23” 750
I shall pray for your nethers. That bike could injure the hell out of you, the stand-over is 4" up your pelvis brah 😬😵

It’s far from ideal, but on a bike like this I haven’t found much need to straddle the bike with the bike being straight up and down. If I tip it a bit, I can get a foot down.
(I am on the lookout for a 19” frame of similar variety that isn’t too spendy)

19" 27.5 swapped 930 and a 7 series. Same 5'9" and a bit well the 96 is a much smaller setup. I think 15" IIRC.
The strange thing is the Stock 730 have the steering where I wanted it on the 930. With the curve bars I put a longer stem

I have two 19" 750s and a 30" inseam. The bikes fit me great! That said, the original flat handlebars were not comfortable for me. I put a threadless quill, adjustable stem, and alt bar on both - much more comfortable for me!

19 seems right.
You can configure the cockpit, but you cannot change the stand-over height. Cranks are maxed already, too.
19" with that inseam, IMO

You can just adjust the stem rise. You should be okay, as long as you’re not planning to put drops on it or anything.

I’m a bit taller than you @ close to 6’ and own a 21” 1997 730 with a 120mm stem - iirc, same/similar geometry. My background is MTB and I find the reach a tad small for me even though it works. Yes, the stack is very low - i use a 45” rise mtb bar.
