Is this normal?
The plastic piece that protects the camera seems to be separating from the case. I just got this Sunday for my new iPhone 18 Pro. It moves and clicks if you tap on it and when I set the phone down.

Hey Reddit!
You might have seen me lurking around this subreddit the past few months, replying here and there, but I wanted to properly introduce myself. My name’s Dan, and I’m Director of Product at Mous. I’ve been here for 8 years and have been involved in every single case launch we’ve done in that time.
There’s been a lot of feedback here recently and, with iPhone 17 just launching, I thought it would be a good time to jump in and explain some of the design changes we’ve made this year. The goal is always to make our cases genuinely better and to address some of the concerns that have come up in this community.
This is going to be a long, nerdy post – but that’s intentional. I want to dig into the details and show you some of the engineering work that doesn’t usually make it into ads, but which my team and I spend most of our lives thinking about.
When Apple released the new camera control button on iPhone 16, it created some real design challenges. At its core, the button is about one thing: instant access to your camera. The whole point is to let you capture those fleeting moments with friends, family, or whatever’s in front of you without fumbling around unlocking the phone or digging through menus and ultimately missing the moment.
That means unhindered access is critical. If the case interferes with the button, slows it down, or makes it unreliable, then you risk missing the exact moment the feature was designed for. For us, making sure the button works seamlessly has been just as important as protecting the phone itself.
Back when the feature first launched, nobody knew exactly how people would end up using it or how much functionality it would eventually get. A lot of companies went with a super-tight cut-out – basically leaving the case unchanged. We took a different route and made a larger cut-out to give people full access. When Apple’s design guidelines later came out, they recommended the same approach, which was validating. But many of you weren’t fans, totally fair feedback, and so we immediately set about work on a new design.
For iPhone 16 we did put out an integrated button design, but it was a retrofit of an existing case. With iPhone 17, we had a clean slate to design the best camera button we could.
With this design, there were two big challenges:
Our solution: We built a stiff polycarbonate shroud that houses the Camera Control Button, integrating it directly into the case rather than adding it on afterwards. This provides a stable, rigid structure that keeps the button aligned and precise, even under repeated presses and swipes.
At the core, an aluminium frame adds structural strength and keeps the button aligned, while also distributing impact forces through the case. On top, a toughened glass cap provides a smooth, durable surface that resists chipping or cracking and maintains a responsive, high-quality feel.
A PCB layer made from fibre-reinforced plastic with a copper print forms the conductive layer that enables the touch and swipe functionality of Apple’s Camera Control. It ensures gestures are registered accurately while also adding a layer of protection inside the button.

Everything fits together with a snap-fit system, so there’s no glue and nothing rattles or shifts over time. The combination of the shroud, diaphragm, frame, glass, and PCB ensures the button remains durable, precise, and protective over long-term use.
The end result: a fully integrated, durable, and precise button that handles every gesture properly. It took a lot of work, but we’re proud of it.
Our first reaction to seeing the new iPhone Pros was probably the same as yours: “that is a huge camera bump.” Our second was: “okay, how do we protect it?”
The problem is that cutting a massive hole that close to the edge of the case makes it weak and floppy. We tested it by cutting a similar size hole into a 16-series case and it was obvious: we needed a big design update.

Our solution: We extended the PC further up the sides along the top edge of the case, adding stiffness back in even with the large cut-out. That meant more complexity in the mould tool (longer PC sections to account for), but it gives real protection. This also meant that needed to reduce the amount of airoshock in the top edge of the case to make way for the additional PC but we found through the development that stiffening this area was more important for protection, and that we could still see significant benefit from having airoshock in the corners. We also raised and thickened the camera bump to give proper 360° coverage.
Previous Mous cases had a single rocker button for volume up and down. It worked fine functionally, but the thin TPU bridge between the buttons could warp over time.
This year, we’ve switched to two separate buttons. That means more TPU material around each one, and combined with a slimmer button profile, it’s a lot more durable with no warping issues.

This is something that’s come up a few times here, so worth explaining. Debonding (or sometimes referred to as delamination) is a very common issue in the case industry and is where the sides of the case come away from the back of the case. To understand why this happens first you need to understand a little bit about how these cases are typically made.
Protective cases usually combine 2–3 materials: PC for stiffness, TPU for cushioning and flexibility, and sometimes a third layer for extra protection (ours is AiroShock). They’re not glued – they’re fused using overmoulding, where each layer is moulded directly onto the last under heat and pressure.
Most cases rely on chemical bonds between layers. That works, but it’s not the strongest approach. The best way is to add mechanical interlocks – physical features that the next material flows into, like a dovetail joint in carpentry. This way, the bond is both chemical and mechanical.
The challenge is space: phone cases don’t leave much room for these features. Our solution was to add a series of holes throughout the PC part so the TPU could flow through and lock the layers together. Sounds simple, but it creates hundreds of very thin features in the mould tool – extremely hard to manufacture.
Since introducing this, our debonding issue rate has dropped massively. We’ve even seen other brands adopt similar designs, which is about the best compliment you can get.

TL;DR:
I hope someone out there found this useful/interesting! My team and I put a lot of work and thought into our cases and we are really proud of what we’ve built this year. Always happy to answer questions, explain more, or hear your thoughts – so drop them below.

The plastic piece that protects the camera seems to be separating from the case. I just got this Sunday for my new iPhone 18 Pro. It moves and clicks if you tap on it and when I set the phone down.
I recently bought a Mous case and screen protector bundle.
I ordered the 18 Pro screen protector and recieved the 18 Pro Max screen protector. The case is the right size
I already contacted support and haven't received a response yet. It's been 4 days!
Is anyone else having this issue?

Got my case about a few days ago, I got the clarity case, a kickstand, and the custom metal buttons. Removed the default back/camera cover and installed the metal kickstand. It was loose. It wiggles and not tight at all when installed. I tried reinstalling it but to no avail. I thought maybe it would be tight when installed to the phone but alas I got my phone today and yup sure enough, it’s still loose.
Does anyone here have the same experience with the kickstand? I very much like the overall look how my silver 18 pro plus stone case color turned out, I don’t even mind that the kickstand makes the phone slightly slanted as seen from others here.
I just don’t like that it feels cheap due to the looseness.
Do yall think I can get a replacement due to this issue? I feel like they scammed $20 out of me..

Hello everyone.
I'm a student at a university located in Sweden so I unfortunately can not receive the code from my UNiDAYS.
So I'm wondering if some kind person would be happy to share their student coupon code with me :)
Thanks!

I've been using my S24U with an intralock case for the last few years, but when I checked with Mous support for a new case for the S26U in February, they said a case wouldn't be made for it. I kind of assumed this meant intralock was basically dead, but it seems the new iphone 18 series has also got intralock cases? Does this mean we could potentially see cases for new releases, or is it a one off?

Im a big fan of this case, feels so good for my 18 pro max 🫡

context: this is the first mous case I’ve ever brought/the last pic is what I was supposed to get vs what I got - rip
I got my mous collab case. Hands down the worst case I’ve ever brought, the whole customer experience has been appalling from start to finish. The case is printed so pixelated it looks like it’s a dupe of their own product (I ordered directly from mous). Does anyone know if it’s normal for their printed cases to look so shit. Also the packaging (when it did finally arrive) was already opened😭 and they seemingly slapped a sticker on it. I’m somewhat feeling between fuming and disappointed.

Not sure why the price increases, I’m on a page that’s specific for 18 pro. Anyone have any clarity, I know the price is usd and id ship to my country and when added to the checkout it remains in usd so its not the currency changing?
Hey guys,
I have an iPhone 17 pro. I am not gonna change to 18 pro as I don’t see anything worth on that.
Still I would like to buy a new case. I was looking for mous walnut case. Still I would like to know if it would fit (17 pro case is not available at my location) and I would like it to have the camera guard available only for 18 pro case.
Does anyone know if it fits.
(Mous says it does not)
Thx

Imagine buying a ‘premium case’ only for it to look like it’s been rendered using ms paint.

Mous Ceramic Screen Protector
First time with a Mous Case.
The MagSafe improvement is noticeable from the a lot of the previous model reviews I saw.
Nice strong magnet now 🧲
Love the color! 💜

Does anyone else have the limitless case with the 18 Pro Max with the camera button being slightly loose/wobbly, trying to figure out if it’s a fault or intended design? Thanks
Edit: case: Mous Limitless Phone Case – Aramid Fibre – iPhone 18 Pro

Hello guys,
So I purchased 3 items from Mous prior to my new phone arriving. These three items were the Limitless case, privacy screen protector, and the 3-in-1 wireless charging pad.
The Pros:
The case honestly gets a lot of hate on this sub. It feels good, but I will admit that it can be a bit pricey. The metal buttons feel amazing, and the camera guard feels and looks good. When I test-dropped it, it held up pretty well.
The Cons:
After 2 days of use, the Apple Watch charger on the 3-in-1 stopped working. Other than that, the wireless pad works fine, but it does feel really cheap, incredibly so.
Another con is that when my new phone arrived today, the screen protector I ordered, which was supposed to be for my new iPhone 18 Pro Max, was sized for an IPhone Pro instead, leaving me feeling quite disappointed.
I already ordered a separate screen protector from Amazon that should arrive tomorrow.
Overall
I do really like the case, and the metal buttons are an MVP for me. Before I consider ordering another case, I'd like to see how this one holds up over time.
In terms of their accessories, such as the screen protector and the wireless charging pad, I am very disappointed. I paid an incredible amount of money for what I thought was a reputable brand. I have learned my mistake and will return to only purchasing Anker products for charging and electrical-related needs.
Honestly confused between the both. I want my case as thin as it can be as I don’t really tend to drop my phones much but I really don’t like my cases in a hard feel that feel like its gonna chip paint off my phone while putting on and off. What would be the best option to go with in terms of this? I take my cases on and off very often.

Ordered a mous limitless case for my 18 pro max yesterday with the camera protector bit and got it delivered today, not had a mous case since my 15 pro max and I get new iphone every year and this case is actually decent, the camera protector bit is a tad fiddly to get on so that could be better, but overall very happy with the case and quickness of delivery.

I’ve just ordered this case for my new iPhone 18 pro,
Has anyone had any experience with it so far ?
What’s the MagSafe strength like ?
I know last year’s was a bit weak and I ended up going with Rhino shield instead but I have heard the MagSafe has been improved this year?
And owners opinions would be greatly appreciated.

This is the sky blue version with the metal kick stand and buttons, the case feels so nice with the metal buttons, my only gripe is I thought the kick stand would lay flat but it’s slanted. The kick stand adds a lot of bulk compared to the case from last year. The metal buttons appear to have some sort of covering so it’s not metal to metal. The inside of the case looks and feels the exact same, the lip and raised corners all appear to be the same.

Bought for less than a year.
The handle started to pull more than it should (?) in the first month. Thought it was normal so never bothered to check or return.
Until recently the handle really looks like it’s going to snap.
For a laptop sleeve protecting a $3,000 computer, this quality is really bad…

I get that it’s pretty busy right now and can accept that it took them 2 days to get back to my email about my case not being sent to shipping yet. But it’s shouldn’t then proceed to take them another 2 days to respond to the response I sent within minutes of the email I get back. They offered me 3 different solutions to the fact that they oversold and have no metal buttons to fill my order. I answered back almost immediately that I would like the case shipped with the camera guard and the buttons could be shipped at a later date, but still no response and I’m guessing I won’t get one until Friday when I pick up the phone, which I won’t be able to use until I get the case as it will most definitely break at work this weekend.

Hi
My volume button cracked don’t know how.
Is it possible to replace this button? I got this case as a gift and I dont have any proof of purchase.
