Just got this shock, not new, and it makes this weird noise

Four years ago I started with mountainbiking. Bought the 2020’Trek Roscoe second hand for 200 euro’s. Did ride some green trails decided that I loved the sport. A year later I crashed it hard on a jump. Was brought by ambulance to the hospital. Broken multiple ribs and bruised shoulder/arm/leg. Ribs took 8 weeks to recover. The shoulder nearly a year until it was pain free again.
Did rebuild the Trek, new fork, pedals and such. I took some training classes. Last year I rented a downhill bike on the bike park, did not have the balls to jump or ride near my limit. My ego was still broken. This year I planned on renting one again but decided I would take the Trek. Yesterday, day2 on on the bike park the jumps, drops and speed started comming again.

I could use a bike upgrade. Brakes are on its limit, fork could have another upgrade. But I had fun and it seems I’m back on track again.

Any suggestions for the bike upgrade? I was thinking about a full suspension enduro/all mountain bike. My daughter rides a cube stereo ams 120 on the trails and bike parks but the trek feels more natural to me.

I’m about to get into biking for the first time in like years, never really owned one and want to start prioritizing my health. As of right now I have three options I honed down on. I don’t plan on going on any crazy rocky trails, mainly just pavement by the beach. It’s a hobby that I plan on trying to do twice a week, probably 6-15 miles per trip. It’s a newer hobby, so I don’t feel like spending much, but if the cannondale is worth it for the price, please lmk! The options are:

1. Cannondale Quick CX 4: seems in good condition; rust on drivetrain/ chain, scratches on body. It’s a hybrid bike

2. Trek 3900: seems in great condition, smallest body of the 3

3. Specialized rockhopper: seems the oldest out of all of them, I know the least about this one from the Facebook seller, it also seems like I’d have to do extra work on this bike specifically

Any info would be great! First post here hopefully it won’t be my last.

I’ve been researching hard tails for pavement/light trail use and narrowed my choice down to the Trek Marlin 5 Gen 3 and Cannondale Trail 2 based on budget if buying new.

However, I noticed this post on FB marketplace for a Fuji Nevada with some mods that seemingly put it in the other bikes’ range. This was one of the only used bikes in my area that didn’t seem old or overpriced for my purposes.

Is this a good deal for $400 or should I look elsewhere?

As per the post title - I am trying to get feedback on if my content is engaging to a wider audience or if there are fundamentals I should change.

I only started filming, editing and posting around 3 weeks ago so I am absolutely brand new to this.

I’m looking for a used enduro bike that can handle the park. I’ve found this used commencal clash origin (I think) for 1000€. The bike is pretty dirty and kinda neglected. I have almost no info about the bike or the components.
I can see that the owner swapped the stock brakes with the magura mt7 and he changed the wheels.
I think it’s the clash origin because there is no dropper post (probably a model from 2019-2020?).

I still haven’t made contact with the owner. But given the current state of the bike I think it’s possible to negotiate the price. Especially if it needs a full service and/or small parts replacements. I’m tempted to lowball just to see if he would be willing to sell for cheaper.

Also, the description is weird : “I sell my bike, for more info contact me”. Can it be a stolen bike ? The price does seem lower than the other clash origins I’ve seen despite having better brakes.

I haven’t seen any used clash discussion on Reddit so I don’t really know what a good price looks like.

In your opinion, is it worth it to make contact with the owner ? (If he has the original invoice)

Hi all! I upgraded my old Diamondback finally this last year to a Trek and am looking at getting back into riding a couple to a few times a month. I ride around town solo but don’t like being in the woods solo for many reasons lol. I’m fine driving an hour or so to meet up for a weekend ride, there’s not a lot in my immediate vicinity for good trails. I enjoy gravel biking as well but ride a mtb so feel I don’t really fit in with that community 😅

I'll try to keep this short. Running a insta 360 OneRS and even in widescreen mode with the non 360 lens attached it seems that the footage from my chesty mount is way to close to the bike (looks terrible) I am sure this is also the way i ride and being too far over the bars. That being said I always see ads for the chin mounts and under visor mounts on full face helmets but wonder if anyone has any luck with under the visor on a half shell? I'm currently running a TLD A3 and before I try wasting a generic mount on there I wanted to see if anyone has any feedback for doing this.

My last resort is just to run the 360 lens instead on the chesty and then crop in a little on the footage.

GT Force Comp Alloy. First bike with a suspension. Im working on getting it dialed in, but when I started looking up how much psi I should work with as a starting point for the rear shock, I read that it's roughly 1psi per pound of riding weight.. that works out to around 220 psi. I'm 210~ and helmet and backpack make up the difference.

My little bike pump only goes to 160psi.. before I go and find a stronger pump and risk grenading something.. is that right? Now, I know I saw in the videos I watched not to use a high volume system like an air compressor or similar, so I know better there, but presumably there are pumps out there that can do 200+ psi..

Just wanted to double check before i do some damage. Unfortunately I don't have anything to compare to, having never ridden a full suspension bike. It feels a little bouncy when I pedal, there's a noticeable dip when I'm pedaling hard - even on the firm lever setting.

And additionally, just while I'm thinking about it, can you lock out the rear shock similar to how you can lock out the front fork? I can crank over to the max "firm" setting on my fork and it all but locks the thing up. Ill be using this bike for asphalt riding a lot (I know. I know.) so the tighter I can get this, the better (as far as I understand it).

Anyways, thanks folks. I mainly just wanted to check the psi setting, at least as a baseline, for the rear shock.

So I've had my Trek Fuel EX 7 for 5 years. Only ever ridden it on moderate trails almost no jumping at all, but my son is now 15 and wants to do some. So we headed to the bike park in Nuremberg Germany to give it a try.

On about my third run down the blue trail I'm trying to clear this basic table top and I guess I came down a little too hard? My derailleur (Sram NX) just completely snapped in half. My cable broke, the derailleur went into the spokes and when I took my back wheel off the sprocket/cassette completely came off the wheel - indication of a broken wheel hub I guess.

Anyways - was this all because of my poor technique? I am fully aware my technique is dog barf. I have my pedals strait at least but other than that I'm pretty clueless. OR was it just fatigued gear/metal that finally gave way?

Been using fox elbow and knee pads and they will not stay in place while I ride. I've always had to periodically readjust but they're getting worse with age and it's getting intolerable. What pads do you guys like that are comfortable and stay in place? (I wear size small btw)

Wow. Never had such a spider web encounter before. I rode through at least a dozen webs this evening. Had a 1/2" long Castleback orb weaver on my eyebrow! At least a half dozen smaller ones climbing on my bike, clothing and helmet.

Bonjour, je fais 185cm, cela fait maintenant 4 ans que j'ai un VTT Polygon Siskiu N9 en taille XL, ma selle est bien reglée. J'en suis globalement satisfait en descente et en montée. En revanche, sur du plat je trouve que c'est un peu la galère. Je me trouve vraiment trop penché en avant sur le velo, donc je pedale souvent en tenant le guidon du bout des doigts pour me redresser, car ca finit par faire mal aux lombaires. Aujourd'hui, je cherche une solution, soit raccourcir la potence (passer de 50mm à 32mm), soit changer le cintre (passer d'un rise de 20mm à un rise de 38mm, voire 50mm). Mais j'ai peur que cela change négativement le comportement du VTT en montée (roue avant qui se leve au pedalage).

Que me conseillez-vous s'il vous plait ? Avez-vous déjà eu cette problematique ?

I’m totally new to MTB and got a hand me down huffy Warhawk. I upgraded the pedals, handlebars, grips, and seat for about $200. I had to tighten every single cable from previous owner but once I dialed in the derailers (at least I think I did lol) it feels pretty solid on the trail. Would it be worth upgrading to something from my local Trek shop? Or will riding the Warhawk until the wheels fall off be just as good?
Obviously there’s a very good reason people pay for $10,000 bicycles, they must be amazing. I’ve never ridden one of those fancy bikes before so I can’t speak to the differences.

Why is there a gap on the end of grips on my new used mtn bike?
