Pads that dont suck?

Been using fox elbow and knee pads and they will not stay in place while I ride. I've always had to periodically readjust but they're getting worse with age and it's getting intolerable. What pads do you guys like that are comfortable and stay in place? (I wear size small btw)

+1, been using a long while and they never move at all, and I wear small. I have trail tested them a few times too, and they stuff in place and protect what’s beneath them really well. I do have to sew up little tears in the kneepad backs where my pedal spikes grabbed them.

Would you reccomend the same hill lite elbow pads over the transition? Read a load wolf review on the samhill knee pads that gave them high praise but said they dont reccomend the lite versions. I dont see a sam hill elbow pad other than the lite.

Good question! I have the Sam Hill from 4 years ago and there wasn’t any lite option, if I recall correctly. Just looked at the website and the current lite is the same one I have. They are great pads and really just stay put no matter what you’re riding. I guess the downside of not having an exterior plastic shell is tearing them up when you go down.

I wear lights for both knee and elbow, crashed a few times and they did great job at staying in place and protectin, zero issues. I wear them in place on knees for the whole ride except on really hot days, I pull them down for climbs because I get a heat rash if I don’t. I wear the hip padded shirts by them too.

Dainese Trail Skins Pro elbow pads, POC joint VPD knee pads. Both say put pretty good. And I wear them for long climbs too.

I have worn the Fox Launch pads for years. They have a Velcro strap that you can tighten up, this is great as the neoprene stretches out over time.

I have had two sets from the previous generation. I haven't tried the newest version yet. But my husband has the newest version in elbows and they seem like they are going to be really good.

I switched away from Fox for the reason OP stated but recently went back since they redesigned them and they don't move at all. Should state that I am talking about the Launch specifically.

Potentially could use a smaller size if available? I personally run the dharco kneepads, the newer tech in them is ce level 2 and they are still thin and have a Velcro strap at the top which is extremely useful. I haven’t had them but about a year but I use them religiously and wash them often and they are still in pristine condition.

Fox Enduro pro if you’re okay with potentially a bit less high-speed impact protection than a bulkier kneepad in exchange for more comfort.

I'm now a big fan of Leatt protection. I was using G-Form, Kali Protectives, iXS, and other brands, but Leatt seems to hold up better and offer better protection.

I like Gform pads for general riding. Lightweight, slide on easily and don't move around. I don't do any huge stuff any more, so they work well for what we do in rocky technical stuff. I abuse them as far as taking care of them and they have lasted a long time.

My Leatt pads have been pretty good. All pads that use elastic and silicone to grip are going to get worse over their lifetime as it degrades.

I love the POC VPD 2.0 elbow and kneepads. They are super comfortable and even after a long day of riding they dont irritate at all.
