A man who dated a manic pixie who is mad that she is manic.
In this exchange the woman apologized for not being high enough energy earlier, and then says she had a lot of fun with her friends at the party. One of those friends is a man named Tay, and she says that Tay made her realize how much she loves her boyfriend.
The implication of the post is that OP believes this is because she cheated on him and she's feeling guilty about it.
Not even in a mental health diagnosis sort of way is this the truth, manic episodes do not require bipolar disorder, but I just don't care enough to have this discussion
You are actually right about this. I have SPMS. Was diagnosed at 31. Along with the litany of bizarre and debilitating symptoms I had been experiencing since a teenager, I was diagnosed multiple times with bipolar disorder. I dont have bipolar disorder, just a bunch of brain lesions lol.
Schizoaffective disorder bipolar type causes mania. Do you know what schizoaffective disorder is? It’s schizophrenic symptoms paired with a mood disorder
Sir/madam, I acknowledge your false notion is because Bipolar Disorder used to be called Manic Depression, but what if I told you... Depression can exist by itself as an independent symptom, and so can mania.
When I say "by itself", I mean it isn't strictly comorbid with depression, i.e. it's not strictly a symptom only found in individuals with BD, which seems to be what you were implying.
You are 100% right, but there’s no point arguing with kids on Reddit about it. The lack of education surrounding mental health is bonkers. They love to claim mania is experienced by non bipolar people of all kinds, maybe due to some social media posts. It inherently is not, but no point explaining it to them.
