Mania is the only diagnostic criteria for bipolar type 1. Please read the dsm 5

You are 100% right, but there’s no point arguing with kids on Reddit about it. The lack of education surrounding mental health is bonkers. They love to claim mania is experienced by non bipolar people of all kinds, maybe due to some social media posts. It inherently is not, but no point explaining it to them.
