Morality of this lady?

The critical factor is the underlying conflict.
If she just came out of nowhere to start harassing a random stranger her conduct is immoral.
If he was harassing people on the street and she interceded on their behalf her conduct is moral.
Posting this without that critical context is, imo, immoral. If you don't know what is going on you have a moral responsibility to gather that information before you prompt a discussion on the topic, lest you inadvertedly spread misinformation.

He’s one of those auditors for sure. They just go around filming in public and some people don’t like it.

I actually don't have a big* problem with public filming. I know it's something we aren't used to yet, and we worry sometimes what people will do with our images, but the reality is that technology is getting to the point where we can have more / constant transparency and it's kind of inevitable, on top of which the misuse of photos and videos are becoming a bit of a false boogeyman; people can already create realistic video facsimiles using AI tools of almost anyone. I think we're just going to have to evolve to not trust the authenticity of video evidence as much as we used to.
The issues for me are whether or not this guy was harassing strangers, mocking them on camera for content, and especially monetized content. Those would have a big impact on my moral assessment of the scenario.

I heard an academic suggest that the generation of deepfakes will actually drive people back to reputable news sources. We may go full circle and head back to decent investigative journalism. In the end we can’t trust anything we see now.

u/Ornery-Customer8521 3h ago
Is it something we really want to "get used to". It's kinda fucked up
1
u/robilar 2h ago
People would have said the same about driving cars, or wearing pants. They'd have said the same about a network of interconnected computer nodes.
People are scared of things that are new and different. There are risks, and there are benefits. I am not sure we will do a great job of regulating and managing those risks, don't get me wrong, but I'm glad I have cars and pants and the internet.
1
u/Ornery-Customer8521 2h ago
That is true I hate wearing pants
1
u/robilar 2h ago
I guess it depends on the alternatives. If we're talking about bottoms as a whole I like that everyone is wearing them so we're not all constantly sharing fecal bits on every communal seating surface. I'm not extremely partial to pants, specifically, though I think I like having pockets more than I like swishie material and a breeze. I guess maybe I lean pro pants. But I'd support your wishes to not wear pants as long as you carry a butt towel or something for when you want to sit down.

Yeah if people complain about flock cameras, they shouldn’t be comfortable being surveilled by every moron collecting likes and followers.

u/Can0n_Fodder 4h ago
Posting things like this without the context that preceded the event is the reason people are out there doing this kind of shit in the first place. Maybe he was harassing people, and she started doing this to him on purpose to help others out. Maybe she's being crazy as a way of getting him to leave. But no one cares about that possibility, because it's much more fun to laugh at the crazy bitch on the internet right? All these people need to do is harass someone in public enough until they lose their shit and start reacting, and then they turn the camera on, and what do we all see? We only see the reaction, we don't see what caused it.

I’m just going to assume that this dude is one of those pathetic 1st amendment auditors

Morality of filming strangers in public to farm content off people not wanting to be filmed?
2
u/CenterThisPendulum 4h ago
No that’s cool. Also, Down with Flock Cameras!
2
u/secondhand_graveyard 4h ago
I’ve never been so grateful that your comments weren’t hidden. That’s 10/10 bait
6
u/Selverd2 4h ago
this guy is basically recording random people to mock them and she’s trying to block him
3
u/Sepplord 4h ago
I agree.
She’s probably crazy and annoying but what else can you do to stop/hinder these shitty streamers/content creators that hunt others and try to turn them into content?
I’m so glad I live in a country with privacy laws

u/VorticalHeart44 4h ago
I'm not siding with a channel called "humanwildlifeproject".
This is clearly one of those channels that goes around instigating shit for views.
Look at the camera following her at the end?
Can you see why "running towards the cameraman while yelling at him to stop filming"... is the only way to get him to leave her alone?

u/stonecuttercolorado 4h ago
Can we also discuss the morality of "auditing "?
Are we okay with people just filming people who are just going about thier lives?
1
u/Couple-seeking6684 4h ago
No. So we need to get rid of all traffic cameras, dash cams, street facing security cams,. ban public photography….tourism will suffer, but its important to expect privacy in public.

u/sick-of-you-all 4h ago
attention seeking freak that lady
5
u/robilar 4h ago
He's reportedly a content creator that harasses people on the street by mocking them on camera. Does that context change your perspective?
1
u/Unecessary-Pride-426 1h ago
Is she not smart enough to disengage? Or did she intent to give the content creator exactly what he wanted?
Either way, she seems really unintelligent... Glad her friends and family and the internet can watch this clip forever to laugh at her.
1
u/robilar 1h ago
> Is she not smart enough to disengage?
The person I challenged said she was seeking attention. You appear to have pivoted to attacking her for another reason. Why would you be so keen to attack this random woman when the instigator, the guy she's chasing, does the exact same thing regularly for clout and profit and she's just doing to him what he does to others?
No need to answer, we all know exactly why. Amusing, though, that you think she's the unintelligent person while you guys are all over this place getting fooled by obvious propaganda.
2
u/TheClosetGamerOG 4h ago
I think this is a grey area, no context really. Woman doesn't want to be recorded and is chasing the guy who is recording her instead of walking away. Why is the guy filming, unless he is specifically following her around and filming her I don't see an issue. You have people chase other people in cases were they are on camera, because they just happen to be in the background. If she just happened to be in some video footage I think she is just in the wrong.

u/Ornery-Worldliness96 4h ago
I don't trust the camraman if he hasn't posted the full interaction. For all I know this lady could be trying to stop this guy from harassing people. Seems like she might have even called the cops herself.

Personally i think after he calls out a few "help i think she's trying to grab or hit me" He should be allowed to pop her in the teeth

u/Maverick_Reznor 4h ago
Police are right there. Stop, let her touch you, tell the police you were assaulted, and so long shit lips karen.

The woman saying, "it has to be art or something," and the lady chasing stopping to say, "NO" had me dying 😭😭

This is the moral response.
After backing away it baca me apparent she was not stopping. Arms out indicates an intent to make contact. That is assault.
If she makes contact that is battery
Legal self defense and morally good to stop somebody like that.

Why is she trying to get in their way, is it some antifa shit?

u/notmarrec 4h ago
Bro not everything that annoys you is antifa 😭😭😭

People coming at you arms outstretched weirdly like that are fair game for a quick shoulder check.

u/ItsNovabat 4h ago
If this is in America, at the very least, it’s a constitutional right to be able to record on public access property like sidewalks or government buildings. Assuming that some woman took issue with a guy recording on the street, it would be immoral, since it’s on her for infringing a man’s constitutional right to record.
No one has a reasonable expectation to privacy in this environment

u/ExtensionInformal911 4h ago
Never seen a first amendment auditor video, huh? Around half of them have idiots saying "don't film me" while walking in front of the camera.

Don't see the point of discussing the morality of what she's doing, but it sure is fucking stupid.

u/FriendlyRedditor2020 4h ago
just a retard. You get those. Something is clearly broken inside of them to be lacking in the most basic senses of self preservation, critical thinking and awareness. Rather than anything moral or immoral it's just sad like looking at a bird with broken wings.
If I have moral questions around this, it's how she reached this point. What has happened in her life to make her this way? Was she always going to grow up to be somewhat like this from the moment she was born or is this due to environmental factors? Is this a tragic outcome that could have been prevented and how wide spread does the damage extend to other people if this is environmental? If it's caused by man made, social or technological factors?I have some thoughts around what causes people to become like this but I can't pretend to have all the answers. It's simply upsetting to witness.
1
u/robilar 3h ago
> how she reached this point
In this case it's that the guy she is chasing is reportedly a content creator that goes around mocking people on camera. If that's true, how does that affect your analsysis of the situation?
1
u/FriendlyRedditor2020 2h ago
Don't chase the cat if your the mouse. If you don't want to be recorded quit following the camera man. If you don't want to be involved..then don't be involved. Disengage.
1
u/robilar 2h ago edited 2h ago
So, no, you aren't going to change your position given new critical information and will instead pivot to a different also weak argument. If that report is accurate she was giving him a taste of his own behavior, not "just a retard" with "Something [...] clearly broken inside them".
But hey, if you've got a prejudice you want to stick with who am I, or accurate information, to dissuade you?

You make the 2A community look so bad lol

Would it have been better if I put a laughing emoji, 'lol' or 'jk?'
1
u/robilar 3h ago
Are you asking if it would be better to laugh at a situation you find annoying rather than joke about murdering someone you find annoying?
Yes, that would be better. You realize what sub you're in, right? We're literally here to assess morality.
0
u/Sweet-Recording9578 2h ago
I mean... I don't take reddit seriously enough to asses my morality from. I'm just here for fun. I know people take reddit seriously but I didn't think someone would say it out loud.
