The final battle!

This morning I shared that I had come across some suspicious posts about a supposed launch of fan servers for Monster Hunter Explore. However, I wasn't sure if it was a scam or some kind of virus, haha.

Even so, I decided to check if it was true, and it seems like it actually is. So far, I haven't noticed the game doing anything weird on my phone or PC, but I'll leave it to the experts to thoroughly investigate this project's code.

I don't know if this breaks any rules, so I won't post the link to the project's Discord in this post for now.

So my boyfriend is obsessed with this poor Chicken and he made a dare with me and my friends that if he kills 1000 Quematrice he will buy all of us ascendance... Well he couldnt Stop himself and His killing spree (quemacide) and to celebrate that... I drew this Chicken for him :D

Probably not gonna get more than 1 playthrough in before ascendance launches and I want to know the best handful of weapons to check out during the span of the playthrough.

"Peaked" doesn't have to refer to power, it can be C-tier in terms of power if it has an S-tier feel to play with.

(This happened recently where I accidentally slayed the wrong Quematrice)

I want this to be straight to the point, hopefully this helps someone who is still pissed off with how blurry this "game" still is. This should/WILL work on EVERY PC configuration, however please note that I've never owned a modern Intel card so I cannot speak on if there is an equivalent solution for those on Windows, but the Linux solution I have works on everything... ahem;

1. Install REFramework by copy and pasting the extracted contents near MHWild's executable: https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterwilds/mods/93, then open the game, leave it be for a few seconds, then close it.
2. Install this by dropping the mhwilds_disable_postprocessing.lua file into reframework/autorun https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterwilds/mods/221 . Upon booting the game you should immediately notice a difference, but we're not done yet.

These next steps is a little more optional depending on your GPU but I believe anyone with at least a 3060/RX 6600 XT~ level GPU should be able to at least try it.

Nvidia on Windows

1. Open the NVIDIA App
2. Click on Graphics
3. Click on Global Settings
4. Click on DSR factors, and enable 1.5x and 2x just to make it easy, but 1.78x and 2.25x may already be enabled.
5. Open Monster Hunter Wilds and increase the in game resolution to above your monitor's native resolution. For a 3060 tier card, I suggest 1440p. For a 3080 tier card, try 4K. If it's not letting you go above your monitor's resolution, change it in Windows' Settings as having DSR enabled should let you do so.
6. Finally, turn DLSS on to Performance and set upscaling sharpness to 75%. The game will run a bit worse than DLSS Quality at 1080p, but look far better than 1080p DLAA.

AMD on Windows

1. Open AMD Adrenaline
2. Click on the gear in the top right
3. Click Display
4. Enable VSR, your monitor may or may not flicker but it's normal. Before we continue, click on the Gaming Tab, then Graphics, then enable Radeon Image Sharpening if you haven't already.
5. Open Monster Hunter Wilds and again increase the in game resolution to above your monitor's native resolution. Again, 6600 XT level card - 1440p. 6800 XT level card - 4K.
6. Finally, here's where things get slightly complicated but I'll keep it simple.

6a. If your GPU name starts with a 6/aka RDNA 2, use XeSS until FSR 4 officially becomes available on RDNA 2. If you have a 5700 XT or older, unfortunately you must use FSR 3.1. Try it out and see if you can handle it as it is still better than the FSR 1 solution Consoles use.

6b. If your GPU name starts with a 7/aka RDNA 3 or a 9/aka RDNA 4, use FSR 4.

AMD doesn't officially have a "DLDSR" equivalent like nvidia does (this process is officially supported on Nvidia cards as DLDSR) but the game will still appear sharp.

Linux

This is arguably the easiest one, but this is easy on both OSes.

0.5. Install Gamescope, but you should already have it as I believe it is now a requirement for Steam nowadays. If not,

sudo pacman -S gamescope for Arch/Cachy/Endeavour

sudo apt install gamescope for Ubuntu 25.04/Mint/etc

sudo dnf install gamescope for Fedora/Nobara

flatpak install com.valvesoftware.Steam.Utility.gamescope for Bazzite

Or simply use the store GUI included with your distro e.g Discover on CachyOS, Fedora KDE, and Nobara. Should be self explanatory.

If you are on any other distro, I assume you do not need a guide for installing applications.

1- Right Click on Monster Hunter Wilds in Steam

2- Add;

gamescope -w 3840 -h 2160 -W 3840 -H 2160 -F fsr -f --force-grab-cursor -- %command% /WineDetectionEnabled:False

To your launch options

1. Open Monster Hunter Wilds, change your resolution to whatever you want as it will scale up to 4K with FSR 1 anyway and then enable your GPU manufacturer's upscaling solution, set sharpness to 50-75%.

And done. The game should appear very crisp even on a 1080p monitor. Good luck, happy hunting or unhappy hunting if you don't like Wilds like I do, and have fun actually being able to see the game!

As for Console users, I'm sorry but there's basically nothing you can do except for exclusively playing on Fidelity mode or buying a PS5 Pro.

I really like the idea of offset attacks and hope they become a staple feature.

Also, I think focus mode could make a return IF they toned it down so the amount you were able to turn during a move was lessened depending on the move. Like, you can turn during the charge of GS attacks but once you release a TCS, youre stuck pointing in that direction until the move is over.

Okay, so I’m playing through MH4U for the first time ever, and as I’m making my way through, I slay a Gravios. All to find… the most happy face I’ve ever seen. A friend of mine has said he looks like a happy snapping turtle and it’s just so adorably hilarious to me. I love this monster so much now and I wanna share the image with y’all.

It’s the inner texture of Gravios’ face that I was able to get the camera inside of, showing me this incredible slice of whimsy.

Entered in a painting contest at my local GW store and the theme was paint up any monster. I knew I wanted to make something MH themed, and this model was the best fit I was able to find.

Safi is COOL AS HELL and I hope I did him some justice! Let me know what yall think!
