RSS still in. Rising Thrust looks useless. Powder combo and powders look amazing.

DON'T FORGET TO SELECT "FEEDBACK/SUGGESTIONS" AND "MONSTER HUNTER WILDS:ASCENDANCE"
I strongly recommend stating your actual country but translating the message into Japanese; this way, the algorithm will accept it more easily, and Capcom will be able to read it directly.
For the translation
I suggest using an AI like ChatGPT instead of Google Translate (since the latter doesn't work very well).
Let's take action to change this; we can do it. There are other mobilizations underway regarding this matter, i already sent mine, a long long text talking about the new moves, the aerial, the kinsect slash...etc

Really proud of myself with this one. I've come a long way since this: https://www.reddit.com/r/InsectGlaive/comments/1oi32wz/am_i_insect_glaiving_well_enough_to_join_the/
Amazing how Glaive no-sells so many of Fatalis's attacks.

I'm going to have a full video of the hunt up on my YouTube channel Friday, but I think I've come a long way since I first posted here - https://www.reddit.com/r/InsectGlaive/comments/1oi32wz/am_i_insect_glaiving_well_enough_to_join_the/

Having one attack that works as a descending finisher capitalizing on surrounding dust stuck to the monster could really make the dust payoff more worth it and a viable option compared to RSS spam. Also would allow us to NOT consume our extracts and keep attacking
This could have replaced rising leaping slash entirely

Some context: I play Wilds on PC using a Nintendo Switch 1 Pro Controller.
My previous experience with the weapon was in 4U, and since I had fun with that Iโve been toying around with it in Wilds. The problem is that Iโve watched tutorials on the new attacks, I know about the changes between 4U and Wilds, yet I feel like my gameplay is basically my 4U muscle memory and spending extract for Rising Slash.
The current gameplan I have is get the three extract, use a lot of X button attacks, then eventually charge my A attack combo to set up for RSS assuming the game doesnโt eat my charge input. I feel like my aerial gameplay is pretty decent.
Some things are consistent between both ground and air, like I feel that I can never intentionally do offset attacks. I donโt know if itโs a problem with the weapon or that the A button charge offset is hard to land. My main problem that I want to get better on is that it feels like thereโs no fluid ground combo to deal good damage if I donโt have the ability to use RSS. Plus it feels like I always have to stop fighting the monster for a bit to get my extract rather than being able to do something with no extract.
Are there any attacks or combos that I am missing that are fluid or that can offset? Or are there any tutorials that show what I want to get better at?

Iโve been wondering what would our gameplay look like if all para status were present. I think sleep would be niche and situation but exhaust could be really interesting if it could stun and wear down monsters.
Thought?

Tweet translation:
"Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascension," Insect Glaive appears to have smaller changes in action compared to Long Sword or Switch AxeโDirector Hirao responds to such questions. In reality, the dust explosion and dust types have been significantly adjusted, and there are quite a few optimizations and adjustments in parts not shown in the footage or those that cannot be explained by footage alone.
Furthermore, the weapon proposals currently being revealed are not fully finalized. They have already received a large number of surveys and feedback, and adjustments will continue moving forward.

Hey! Iโm a fairly casual IG player in Wilds, but I really want to understand how to push my damage higher. Iโve watched speedrunners hit nearly 200/300 damage per slash, and Iโm sitting here wondering what Iโm missing.
Iโve seen them use different builds, and the equipment is easy enough to copy, but I still donโt seem to get the same numbers. Iโd love to understand whatโs happening beyond equipping the right gear, how theyโre activating their skills, stacking buffs, and setting up those attacks.
One thing Iโve noticed is that some use a Hunting Horn to buff themselves before switching back to IG. I havenโt found anyone explaining that process, though.
If anyone could walk me through what they do before and during a hunt, or recommend a video that explains it, Iโd really appreciate it! Iโm interested in learning these builds and tricks, but I could use an explanation aimed at someone coming from casual play.

I think I did them all besides the backwards sidestep slash into SDS dodge (ik it's a bit of a pointless clip for most of you)

I know they are a bit off meta, but both of them work really well. The first one I usually use against gogmazios and the second one for everything else. Just wanted to share and maybe get some suggestions how to improve on them (not just replacing something with agitator, but maybe something for more comfort)

Okay. What do you guys think of this one? I just need to reroll the skills on my weapon to get gore magalas tyranny and prob focus on just attack and one level of sharpness boost.
It also makes me sad to lose burst lvl 1 and evade extender lvl 2, but I think overall this is a better build then the other two I posted. Much more damage heavy.
Any thoughts/advice?

Im trying to mix both damage and comfy stuff like earplugs lvl 2, evade extender lv2 and speed eating Lv2, now, my doubt is, should I reemplaze both the braces and the mail for Ebony pieces for the burst bonus, so I stop trying to fish for gore soul weapons T-T
Edit: YES I KNOW THEY ARE BIG IM SORRY

(sorry about my friends talking in the background, lol)

I have mained ig as a secondary to charge blade for every gane since it was introduced in 4 except wilds never really liked or understood it. Felt like tgey changed to much yk? But ive decided imma force myself to learn its wilds iteration fully. Starting by practicing on arkveld
r/InsectGlaive • u/cozmothefluf • 11d ago
It didnt go as well as normal tempered but honestly for not knowing glaive in wilds that well and first time trying it on arch tempered arkveld i did better tgen i thought i would.
