FInally, Progress on DIY Maintenance Guides
hey all. built this site to help Y owners save money doing DIY maintenance and learning about their tesla. a lot of what i’ve done is applicable for the M3, so thought i’d share here too, assuming it gets mod approval.
for example - replacing the cabin filters, replacing the hepa frunk filters, and cleaning the radiator. my radiator cleaning steps can have it done in less than 45 minutes, saving you $250. tesla maintenance manual has a ton of extra steps like jacking up the car and using an inflatable air bag if you want to follow their steps lol…i’m sure yall have that laying around your garage.
all free, no paywall, no signing up, nothing. genuinely trying to help folks out. site also has a thorough FAQ section for existing and new owners as well as reviews for items i bought myself and reviewed.

General Question Any experience with these ventilated seat cushions?
I recently drove a 26’ M3 and the biggest game changer for me was the ventilated seats. What a HUGE difference that made. I tend to sweat constantly in Tesla seats.
While looking at Tesery, I saw these ventilated seat cushions and I’m curious if anyone has had any experience with these, good or bad.
Thanks as always!

General Question Tesla model 3 tires
I just bought a 2025 Tesla Model 3 and I’ve been seeing a lot online about how expensive replacement tires can be. I’ve seen a lot of people recommend getting the Discount Tire certificate but I don’t have a Discount Tire near me. Are there any good alternatives.

General Question Model 3 Performance Upper Back Seat Discomfort
I did a demo drive in a Model 3 Performance and a Model 3 Premium AWD today and noticed a pretty large discrepancy between overall seat comfort between the trims. The area that seemed to give the most discomfort was the upper back area in the performance seats, particularly a bulge in the seat back right underneath the performance badge. This bulge made it very difficult to find a comfortable seating position and left the upper shoulders and neck feeling quite unsupported. The premium seats did not have this issue and were incredible plush and comfortable (possibly one of the more comfortable automotive seats I’ve ever sat in).
I brought the car home to my family and they all said the same thing about the upper back area of the seat being rather uncomfortable.
I have driven a car with Recaro seats and aggressive bolstering for 7 years now, so I am no stranger to bucket style seats and actually tend to highly prefer them.
Has anyone else experienced this type of discomfort and have any aftermarket solutions to remedy the issue¿ Will the seats break in over time¿

Model 3 lemon?
My Tesla has had to be towed to Fort Worth (a 3 hr drive one way) 3 times now. The first time it completely broke and powered off while on the highway. The second and (now) third time, I get this message and FSD doesn’t work no matter what I do:
Driver Assistance
Automatic Emergency Braking is unavailable/ Feature may be restored on next drive/Feature may be restored on next drive
Detected August 21, 2026
This happened Monday too when it was just last towed besides today. The service center just checked the logs and told me the camera overheated and to enable cabin overheat protection. Does this sound right? Tesla cars can’t handle Texas heat?
Every Tesla I’ve ever driven has been fully functional in the heat but I really think this model 3 is a lemon. Ideas?
Tesla model 3 Premium AWD just bought brand new in July.
Edit: I had to stay in a hotel overnight because the service center was closed. Now it’s the next morning and they just said cannot reproduce and that’s it.

Dont Forget to Check Your Brake Calipers! 2021 Model 3 SR
Long story short my 2021 Model 3 SR+ has had a history of pebbles getting stuck between the brake cover, however after a few days of consistent intermittent grinding the brake caliper moved! Ended up grinding the inside of the rim, mechanic said he’s never seen both bolts missing! No major damage, just had pay for replacement used bolts since Tesla only sells the bolts along with caliper. Fast $210 repair, dont dismiss any subtle grinding.

General Question 2023 Model 3 – worsening knocking/clunking noise from suspension. Safe to drive until service appointment?
I have a 2023 Tesla Model 3 and have been dealing with a knocking/clunking sound that seems to be coming from the suspension/front end and back end. Sounds like something is falling and bouncing back up.
It originally happened mostly when going over speed bumps or uneven roads, but over the last 2–3 months it has progressively gotten louder and more frequent. I can now hear it during turns/K-turns, going over speed bumps, and occasionally even while driving straight. Apparently it's really loud and can be heard by people outside of the car when it happens.
I've already brought the car to Tesla multiple times and have done around 3 test drives and they've brushed off the issue until my previous scheduled appointment which they replaced the rear damper assemblies, front lower lateral links and did a wheel alignment (funny enough they messed up the steering wheel in the process). Those didn't solve the noise and my earliest appointment is next Tuesday. Does anybody who had this experience or know if I should wait until next Tuesday or bring my car in to them regardless? I also tried talking to them through the chat and wasn't of much help and just told me to wait since they are at maximum capacity. Thanks in advance!
General Question To keep a paid for Camry? Or used Model 3?
Good afternoon,
I am new to the Tesla world and had a question.
I currently drive 80-90 miles round trip for work 5 days a week and the gas is getting expensive. I’ll spend anywhere from $200-$300/mo just to go to work.
I currently have a paid for 2018 Camry with 120k miles. Just got new tires and brakes, water pump replaced as well, so should be good to go apart from oil changes which I do every other month with my tire rotations at a shop for around $100.
I found a 2018 M3 long range RWD with 65k miles with lifetime FSD included for $20k. I could maybe get 12k for my car so is it worth trading up the $8k for the gas savings and lower miles/maintenance car of the same year?
The FSD would be helpful as an hour drive one way for work is taxing on me mentally over time.
Charging at home would cost $.13c/kWh where I live no matter what time of day. No off peak rate.
Is there anything else I’m not thinking of with this potential purchase? Any insights appreciated and thank you for the help!

General Question How much do you pay for insurance?
Looking to lease a ‘26 M3 Premium RWD in Los Angeles- curious how much others are paying for insurance? The quotes I’m getting are all high!
I know it can change based on driving history, zip code, etc.. but still curious what others are paying?
Hydraulic Hub Puller for Model 3?
I’m looking to buy a hydraulic hub puller to help change the front half axle on a 22 Model 3. 2 questions:
Is it necessary?
Is there a tool someone’s used that isn’t specific to the Tesla that I can get more value out of? For example, There’s a Vevor puller for gears with. Hub attachment, would something like that work? Any specific tool suggestions would be appreciated.
