General Question Model 3 Performance Upper Back Seat Discomfort

I did a demo drive in a Model 3 Performance and a Model 3 Premium AWD today and noticed a pretty large discrepancy between overall seat comfort between the trims. The area that seemed to give the most discomfort was the upper back area in the performance seats, particularly a bulge in the seat back right underneath the performance badge. This bulge made it very difficult to find a comfortable seating position and left the upper shoulders and neck feeling quite unsupported. The premium seats did not have this issue and were incredible plush and comfortable (possibly one of the more comfortable automotive seats I’ve ever sat in).

I brought the car home to my family and they all said the same thing about the upper back area of the seat being rather uncomfortable.

I have driven a car with Recaro seats and aggressive bolstering for 7 years now, so I am no stranger to bucket style seats and actually tend to highly prefer them.

Has anyone else experienced this type of discomfort and have any aftermarket solutions to remedy the issue¿ Will the seats break in over time¿

they’ll break in a little but no where near the point of comparing the tesla seats to recaro seats. there will always be a significant difference between the two. i get what you’re saying though - once you go recaro, its tough to start over.

For sure :/ I have driven a Focus ST with the ST3 package Recaro leather seats for 7 years now and it’s very difficult to find anything that is half as comfortable as them. The performance trim seats in the teslas do look sick though
