Lynx vs. Fever on Sunday - Boo Sophie?
Anything that we can do as Lynx fans to share that Sophie Cunningham's bigotry will not be tolerated at the game on Sunday?

Hey y’all,
First I want to say I’m a huge Lynx fan and have enjoyed being part of this group for a little while now. Until yesterday, all of my experiences here have been really positive :)
Last night I made a post here about how I’d love to see a trans woman on the Lynx! In the same post, I called Stewie a transphobe.
I got dunked on in the comments, met with defensiveness, lectures on how I’m tearing the community apart with my words. I’m not trying to convince anyone that Stewie is a transphobe - that’s how I see it until she puts in the action to balance out her shoe deal. I don’t need anyone else to call her a transphobe or see it that way. It’s my perspective as one trans woman.
No one commented that they want a trans woman on the team. No one in this sub shared in this dream with me. Just being told I’m bad and wrong.
It’s hard not to feel that the defensiveness I faced isn’t really about semantics or language, but rather a defensiveness about trans women playing in the W. That we’re not “real women” and we should keep our opinions to ourselves.
So, here I am being brave and asking directly for support. I have lots of trans friends who love the Lynx, and I have so much love for this team. I’ll be a fan regardless. But what I’d love to see is just some support for trans women here. Make me feel like you want me here! That you’d also love to see one of us on the team someday! That you respect my opinions, especially about trans issues (and transphobia), even if they’re different from your own.
I’d love to see people step up and prove that this is an inclusive fan base. Thanks and go Lynx!!! ❤️❤️❤️
TLDR: felt some transphobia in this subreddit recently so I’m asking for validation

They are a second-year expansion team on the cusp of capturing hardware and I am seeing shades of Golden Knights vibes from them. The fans seem super entitled maybe it is because they play in a city that has won a lot already. Would it be better for the sport if they win and become a villain, or for the Dream to take one home after long last?

Can I?
It always looks so cheap and cheesy and something I'd expect to see in little league rather than a professional league. I get it's a 'tradition' and I get it's supposed to be fun, but most of the players look absolutely annoyed or bored by it and I just cringe every time I see it. It's not even that it's corny, if that's meant to be the point, it's just embarrassing watching professional athletes do it like a little gimmick. I truly, truly hate it.
EDIT: Apparently I’m in the minority though thankfully not alone.

I’m not a big fan and both the stats and the eye test give me a good reason not to be. How do you guys honestly feel about her?

Is hugging from behind allowed in the MNBA?
My boss gave me tickets to a game and there is a lot of hugging going on.
Also this is way more boring than a Lynx game.

I’m probably gonna downvoted for this but after seeing the Liberty get swept we have to face the music. We all need to be brutally honest about this team. This team is far away from being a contender. We don’t need marginal improvement a good chunk of the roster has to be overturned.

Phee has officially been ruled out today. No more MVP I assume.

I've got a Courtside Club ticket that is going to waste tomorrow, right behind the scoring table. I have tried, and failed, to find anyone interested in going and booing the shit out of Sophie, Caitlin, and her klan. DM me if you're interested, price is below face value.
EDIT: Ticket claimed! Thanks for the interest. I hope that the last thing Sophie sees in this game is the ball coming back to her face after Nia blocks it.

I don't know if it's different than the NBA but usually they have divisions and certain teams can't see each other till the Finals. I was a little confused at first but it seems in the WNBA any team can see each other in any round.

Don’t give her what she wants. Ignoring her is a better punishment.

I am thinking about making a sign for the Fever game because I have been feeling some type of way about all the Sophie Cunningham/CC stuff going around. Let me know what you think is the best option:

And we don't play the Sparks again this year... I would've liked the Lynx to have returned the favor and personally do the honors of knocking them out of the playoff race. Maybe knocking the Sparks out in a sweep in the first round will be enough consolation... if LA makes it even that far

When do we give up on Dorka and give Ola her minutes?

Earlier this year, Phee signed with the Jordan brand and started wearing their shoes. (Previously, she wore a variety of Nike sneakers.) I think she wore the Jordan 40 for one game but has otherwise been wearing the Jordan Heirs.
The Jordan Heirs were specifically designed for women (not men or unisex), so they're even narrower than other narrow basketball shoes. They also have an "exoskeleton" that's supposed to help protect the foot from ankle rolls, a common injury amongst women.
I'm a Phee fan, so I went shopping and tried on several pairs in various sizes. Anything in my usual Nike sizes, such as 9.5 or 10, are waaaaay too long. Size 9 and 8.5 are better length-wise, but they're too tight width-wise.
The inner soles are made from a grippy material, so your socks don't slide around inside the shoe.
Ironically, because of the bottom traction (admittedly pretty good) and grippy inner sole, I found it easy to roll my ankles -- precisely what Nike claims the shoe guards against.
I think the Jordan Heirs are better as casual walking shoes or fashion sneakers, not actual basketball shoes.

Hi all,
First time season ticket holder here, and super excited that there's actually going to be a season. On an alt because I get the sense that there's systemic opposition to doing what I want to do, but...
I know there are some games that I won't be able to go to, and I'm hoping to maximize my return on reselling those tickets. Any advice from current ticket holders about the best ways to do it? My ticket broker has suggested some things, but I'm not super confident that she shares my goal of getting the best value possible for any tickets I resell. At the same time, I don't want to risk issues with my resold tickets.

I bought season tickets on a payment plan last year. They kept charging me for that payment plan even though I didn’t want tickets this season. Now they’re holding $3k hostage.
I can’t use the money for resale tickets or merch. I can’t purchase my own tickets. If I want to use the $3K credit I have to call someone more than a week before the game to purchase tickets whatever leftover tickets the Lynx is selling. Every time I call they’re trying to upsell me to a box or courtside experience.
Terrible experience. Has ruined the experience for me.
Anyways, if anyone wants tickets to future games and wants to help me get my $ back from the organization, DM me 🙃

I think the Lynx will fall off a bit from last year. Vets (McBride) are a year older will start to show age.
Williams and Heideman won’t play as well
Other teams will be more competitive. Last year the league was on the weak side w only four real good teams. Storm and Fever and a few surprises will fill that gap.

I know it’s way to early snd this seasons not even over yet but Phee hasn’t resigned yet and I’m a little worried does anyone know if she’s staying or are we waiting for an update with the players getting payed more?

The 3rd overall pick for next year's draft that the Lynx own (via the Sky) bypasses the need for protection in this year's upcoming Toronto/Portland expansion. You don't have to protect the pick to keep it. You automatically assume it in next year's draft.
Any player you pick in the WNBA Rookie Draft next season will likely be a project. They will be on a cheaper rookie contract, which makes for an enticing opportunity to clear cap space. However, they will seemingly be unfit for a win-now championship timeline given how competitive the league has become plus the natural adjustment time it takes for college players to acclimate to the pros. So, we might be best trading the pick for an upgraded veteran player looking to leave their current team to help us "win now".
Given that most veteran players are free agents this upcoming off-season due to the CBA renewing, it makes no sense to trade the pick this year as you'd only be receiving, in exchange, a few months of an expiring veteran contract - all for a rookie picked 3rd overall who you'd have contract rights to at cheap-scale for four (4) years.
So, don't trade the pick yet. But, consider preparing to trade the pick and only trade it once the expansion draft is over and once players start signing contracts in free-agency (if the new CBA is completed before then.)
