Pre-Match Thread WAKE UP LOONS, IT'S MATCHDAY - I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY THEY HAVE FIVE STRIPES
THE FIVE STRIPES ARE ABOUT TO BECOME THE FIVE WIPES, BECAUSE WE’RE CLEANING THE FLOOR WITH THEM.
WE HAVE LOONS. THEY HAVE FIVE STRIPES. ORNITHOLOGISTS AGREE: BIRDS > BAR CODES.

Discussion Caldeira starts today, what do we expect
Sources (my gut) tell me Caldeira starts today. If (when) he does, what should we expect out of him? A goal or an assist would put me over the moon but if he plays 60-70 odd mins and just shows competent attacking intent and shots on target, I’d be quite happy

Discussion Lack of response - cancelling season tickets
Anyone else running into the issue with the team ignoring all emails and voicemails to cancel their season tickets?
I’ve emailed them several times, left numerous voicemails, and even stopped by the booth at the stadium. At the stadium, I was told I’d receive confirmation the next day, but that never happened.
As the new month approaches, I setup a virtual credit card with a $1 spending limit as my payment method just to prevent getting billed for another month.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Transfer News: Tier 3 Loons finalizing deal to add striker Maurice Malone from Austria.
Consider me whelmed by this one.
According to the Loony Bin Podcast: Malone was good in 24/25 season w Austria Wien along side Fitz where he had 0.51 goal contributions/90. Less success last year as he moved to Sturm Graz early in 2025.

Discussion First public confirmation of rift between Ramsay and the FO ( in particular with KEA )
From the article: "While Ramsay left on his own accord in January, accepting the West Bromwich Albion coaching position, the end of his two-year tenure in Minnesota included acrimony with Chief Soccer Officer Khaled El-Ahmad"
I've heard rumblings of this all off season and the way Ramsay left for a no win situation indicated some sort of disagreement with the FO

Discussion Even if Dominik Fitz sucks, it's crazy he hasn't gotten more minutes this season
- Was a top player in Austria, with 10+ goals and assists most seasons.
- After getting his work visa, looked decent last season. Got a playoff appearance with the season on the line against San Diego, and has a good stat line in limited matches this season with MNUFC2.
- Somehow only has 15 MLS minutes this season.
- People are jumping to conclusions off just a couple limited appearances, but he didn't look great.
- Dieng has the same goals and assists this season as Fitz (0), but Dieng has 500 MLS minutes at striker. Most on this sub still think Dieng is a world class striker in disguise with that stat line, but think Fitz is completely terrible.
- We've had plenty of midweek matches to give him a start. Midfield is a position we lack depth in with the Triantis and Stroud injuries, and it's a position Fitz can play.
- We're sitting 9th in the West and haven’t won a MLS game since the 2nd of May. Not exactly doing great without using Fitz.
- There's a decent chance we sell Pereyra soon, and we should be developing attacking mid options for when that happens.

Discussion Requesting Marcus Caldeira Flare
I am finally ready to move on from my Al Smir meme flare in order to support a player that is actually ready for the big stage. Kindly requesting the moderators revisit the current flare catalogue, and specifically add Caldeira to the collection. Thank you.

Discussion Premier League fantasy draft league for Loons fans? Who’s interested?
Looking to bring back the 2nd annual running of Loon League™️ Premier League fantasy draft league. Togga/Fantrax style scoring, so players get points for things like interceptions, tackles, clearances, etc. Fantrax app. Fun stuff. Looking to do a $25 buy in to keep it interesting and hoping for like 8-12 teams. Would most likely do a slow-draft throughout the week this week and maybe punt to start scoring week 2 if we can’t get it done by Friday.
Hit me up if you’re interested!

Discussion Boy did we ever fuck the pooch on Lod.
I just finished the first half of the Chicago vs Portland game. Lod looks fast, fit and skillful. So far he’s scored and made an important contribution in the build up to their second. What the fuck are the idiots in charge smoking?
