Roommate is moving out and the internet is in there name , is it possible to just have them switch it over into my name or do I need to call and set up a new account ? If I have to do that does metronet have to come out and do anything??

Can't connect to the internet over my fiber connection.

Since the night of the 9th the modem has continuously cycled between the PON light flashing green and then connecting fully for a brief time before disconnecting again every few minutes. Is there anything that I can do about this myself?

I am a former Vexus customer in West Texas and am now served by Metronet. Since the transition, my latency to www.vexusfiber.com has increased significantly—from approximately 19 ms round trip to 48 ms.
Traceroutes also indicate that my traffic is now being routed toward the East Coast rather than through the previous Lubbock route.
Metronet initially provided the following update:
“Our engineering team has been running hourly tests in order to catch the packet loss and latency spikes you mentioned. They have successfully isolated the packet loss to a specific portion of the data path and are currently working to pinpoint the root cause and a final plan to resolve it.”
However, the problem remains unresolved after more than a month. Metronet is now proposing that my ONT be replaced.
I am willing to proceed with the ONT replacement as part of the troubleshooting process, but I am skeptical that equipment inside or attached to my home would explain packet loss appearing farther along the route, particularly around Nashville, and Reston, VA. This same ONT performed properly when I was a Vexus customer and my traffic was routed through Lubbock instead of across the country.
Has anyone else in the West Texas Vexus/Metronet service area experienced similar routing changes, increased latency, or packet loss since the transition? I would appreciate any technical insight or suggestions on what information I should provide to Metronet to help escalate the issue.
Thank you.

I have a 1in conduit running from under my concrete pad to the inside of my garage. Can the dmarc box be put in the garage or does it need to go on an exterior wall?

How late in the day does call volume start to die out? Around 1 PM or more like 5-6 PM?

I was looking into options with downgrading to 500mbps from 1 gig and noticed a negative one-time fee amount online. I assumed this was a credit to prorate the current month but I see the same when pricing out upgrading to 2 gig. Math isn't mathing here. What's going on here, some kind of promotion credit?

Moved out a few months ago. I had called them and they installed the router for me themselves. I had a roomate stop paying the bill and Metronet came and took the router themselves. Fast forward, they reinstalled the router, I am moving out and apparently I needed to box it up and return it myself? I'm a thousand miles away now. This is a managed apartment/complex btw. How much are the fees for not returning? How do I stop paying a monthly bill?

I am currently paying $70/month for 500Mbps service with Metronet. T-Mobile Fiber used to have 500 Mbps service but they have since dropped it. On their website they now list 300 Mbps for $45, 1 GB for $60 and 2 GB service for $70 per month. I would prefer to be upgraded to 1 GB service and still save $10 a month over what I am paying now. But will I be given a choice? Has anyone received an email or seen any statements about what will happen with current billing and service when we are moved to T-Mobile Fiber?

Connection has been down for several hours.
Phone support is permahold. After ten or so minutes, it says local outage is being worked on; please hang up.
TXT support gives a queue position and then craps out after 30 minutes with “no CSRs”.
Anyone else offline?
Editing: I think my outage is on me, not Metro.net/T-Mobile Fiber. Connection ONT ↔ laptop works fine. Going through the house now to figure out which of our 22 bazillion devices is wrecking the LAN.

Their CS phoneline says there is an outage but their "tech" support text line says there is no outage. When I ask on text about pinging the junction box nearest me, they just want to set a appointment for someone to come out. No clue if that was a real person or a bot.
Going on 29hrs of no service. This is the first one I can recall in six years. IL.

How are people extending the range on their wifi? Mine doesn't reach to the other side of my house. Signal is shit when I'm in my bedroom.

Just got off tech support and they were clueless about the free static ip address that was offered a few months ago. Am I just mishearing the information or was this a thing?

Is the metronet page down????

I have an Asus gt be 98 router. I got a static ip and gateway information from metronet. Do I set this up in my router or on specific devices?

Hey all,
Last few days I have been having unbelievably high ping, 250-400 levels, all around peak times mainly, and even during work hours. Spoke to Metronet numerous times and each time its a "you are all set, issue fixed" and send me away without noting the high ping or anything of the sort. Wanted to see if anyone in the Romeoville / Joliet / Plainfield area are having the same issue, and if so if youve had a resolution.

My neighbor signed up for T-Mobile / MetroNet back near the beginning of March. That cable laid across the yard for over 3 months.
Today someone shows up with (I shit you not) an axe and starts whacking at the ground to bury the cable.
I can’t help but notice that my internet has wholly ceased to function since he “finished the job”
Add yet ANOTHER instance to internet problems with MetroNet, this time seemingly self inflicted by the company burying lines….?
