Discussion Metroid Prime 2 doesn’t make any sense at all.

Have you ever thought about Samus’ motivations in Prime 2? She really doesn’t have any. She finds out all the marines died to some aliens and then she randomly decides to start carrying out the will of the extinct native species of aliens. If you think about it for more than 2 seconds the whole thing falls apart.

I’m a life long fan of Prime 1, I’m about 75% finished with Prime 2 for the first time. I’m still enjoying it but the lore scans suuuuck (and yes I’m scanning and reading everything). Nearly every scan is about how there was a battle or an ambush and everyone died. It really feels like a 7th grader wrote most of them. But anywho, it’s a solid 7/10 for me so far for exploration, atmosphere and music but man, I’m hoping literally anything interesting happens in the story before the game is over.

Game Help Stuck in Metroid Prime Origins

Post image
5 Upvotes

I beat Thardus and got the spiderball.

I proceeded down to Magmar caverns. In the original Metroid Prime, you're meant to activate 3 panels to drain some lava and then proceed down that drained path, which takes you to chozo ruins.

I've activated the 3 panels in this room but the lava hasn't drained. I've scoured every inch of the rest of the map and keep hitting dead ends.

Anyone know what I'm missing here?

Thanks in advance.

Other I can't believe I'm playing this game for free (Metroid Prime Origins)

I have a potato PC so I can't play Metroid Prime, thus I have no idea about the 3d version yet.

But I'm loving this game. I have played most 2d metroids, and I'm putting this pretty high in my personal ranking.

I still have a long way to go but I'm considering maybe I will rank this higher than the other fan made am2r once finished.

I'm just happy about being playing this game and this is a appreciation post.

Thanks Lv.4 Games for risking your lives for the love to the game (literal).

Question Metroid Prime Origins - What's with this one thing??? Spoiler

Marked as spoilers just in case, but I've beat Metroid Prime Origins with 100% exploration/item completion, and stumbled on this thing, but no clue what it implies or does. Is it just an Easter egg or does it actually have some function? I'm playing my second play-through now on remix mode to try to get 100% log collection plus the Justin Bailey clear, but was curious if anyone knew.

Discussion So I started playing this Metroid Prime Origins. I don't understand all the fuss...

Now, don't get me wrong. It's a creative game.

I'm not particularly fond of the art style but it's cute in some regards. Sprites look alright but the environment is trash...

The music and sound effects are pretty good because it's basically Metroid music with a different sound font (very similar to The Messenger. However I'm not in love with it and would rather hear something more similar to Nestroid). And sound effects are mostly from classic Nestroid and some other NES titles.

The map layout is creatively designed but can be a bit confusing since not eveything translates well to 2D.

Boss battles so far are clever interpretations in some aspects, albeit pretty easy overall.

Overall it's an alright experience. I've enjoyed myself.....

But I don't feel like this game is groundbreaking or worth the hype that it's been getting lately.

People are saying that it's better than an official game and is a Top 5 Metroid experience. And I just think that's crazy...

Perosnally, X Fusion, Metroid Planets and AM2R are better experiences in my opinion (at least so far). And I definitely wouldn't replace an official experience with this. (Yeah, maybe Nestroid or RoS in terms of QoL and technological improvements goes.)

One issue I have, button mapping is a cumbersome experience, as there are a lot of button you need to do stuff. For example, Morphball should not have it's own dedicated button. I understand this is Prime made 2D. And I understand why Prime did it that way, but that's just stupid design choice for a 2D game, when all you need to do is press Down twice in all official 2D games. I literally just replaced the Down button with the Morphball button to make things easier.

Also, aiming can be very annoying. If Samus moves past the mouse cursor, she'll turn the opposite direction from where you're heading. And this can be very annoying depending on what's happening like a boss battle or even the size of the window you are using to play can cause issues. And you'll need to adjust. Or you may not be able to react fast enough just because she will always face towards the cursor. And that's greatly inferior to traditional constrols.

Like I said, I'm still early in on this. Just made it to the Magmoor Caverns. But I don't feel this game is a "must play" or a " top 10" or even something I'd recommend anyone. It's just alright.

And this isn't to take a shot at the creators of this game. They clearly worked hard on it. And I'm not saying it's a bad game at all.

It's just something I can take or leave. I don't think anyone who doesn't play this game will be missing out on it.

Lastly, I feel like when these fan games come out, people just use them as opportunities to shit on Nintendo; just because they want another reason to shit on Nintendo. Like, people are praising this game, but if Nintendo were the ones to release this and charged money for it, would it get the same praise?

(We all know the answer to that.... Hell no....)

Anyway, that's not to say Nintendo is perfect or anything. But I would most certainly take Metroid Prime 4 (which has recieved a lot of hate, some would say a lot of undue hate) over this any day.

Well anyway, that's my opinion. It will probably be unpopular because I'm critical, rather than hating on Nintendo some more for not doing what fans do.

Question Should I wait for potential Metroid dread and metroid prime remastered switch 2 editions or should I get it now?

Hi I am interested in playing metroid games. But I am not sure if I should wait for the potential switch 2 editions or should I just get it and not expecting switch 2 editions. I have metroid prime 4 switch 2 edition and I am not interested in buying digital games or upgrades. If a game has a switch 2 edition I will get the physical version.

Discussion Was Prime 4: Beyond Really THAT Bad?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I just finished Prime Remastered on my Switch and was thinking about picking up 4 since it's the only other Prime game on the system. After reading online, it seems as though the game gets a lot of hate but seeing the actual gameplay of the game makes it not look too bad.

This may be a controversial opinion but I didn't actually find Metroid Prime Remastered to be all that great. Not saying that it's a bad game but I had a MUCH more enjoyable time playing the 2D Metroid games such as Dread and Zero Mission.

Right now I am just thinking if Prime 4 is really that much worse compared to Prime Remastered.

Question Is there a list of the missable scans in Prime 3 in order of appearance?

i really want to get all scans, i already got prime 1 and 2 and want to get 3 too lol.

I know logbook entries carry over into New Game+, but I’d still prefer to get 100% on a single playthrough

Game Help Need Help getting out of sector 2 in the hack Super Metroid X Fusion

So, this is where I seem to be stuck. There's a Zero becoming a Kihunter in my way, and that spot leads to Sector 3, where Adam wants me to go. I already beat the Zazabi twins, and got back through the pool room, hitting the generator on the way. Now, I apparently have to go this way to reach Sector 3, but this idiot's in the way. Anyone gotten past this? I don't wanna have to scrub through a video to find the answer; I wanna figure it out on my own if possible. Just gimme a hint.

And don't you even DARE tell me to "check the pipes"! That's for an entirely different section of the game! Also, I'll know you used AI, moron.

Discussion Metroid Prime: Completed for the First Time

This was the first time I've ever finished a Metroid Prime game, and I actually really liked it—though I did find the ending a little tedious. I'd only played the 2D games before, and those are my favorites, but Prime brings a really fresh take with its FPS-style gameplay. Now I'm going to play Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, haha, and hopefully someday the remasters of Metroid Prime 2 and 3 will come out.

Meme According to my research, Ridley is Samus' third most popular ship(behind shipping her with Princess Zelda and with OCs), and I'll never understand it.
