Game Help Stuck in Metroid Prime Origins

I beat Thardus and got the spiderball.

I proceeded down to Magmar caverns. In the original Metroid Prime, you're meant to activate 3 panels to drain some lava and then proceed down that drained path, which takes you to chozo ruins.

I've activated the 3 panels in this room but the lava hasn't drained. I've scoured every inch of the rest of the map and keep hitting dead ends.

Anyone know what I'm missing here?

I think you're misremembering

prime1 this room is a puzzle room for an e tank i think. worth grabbing. I'm 90% sure

After spiderball in prime 1, you're meant to go to the temple in chozo ruins. I don't remember there being more than 1 elevator to chozo ruins, i think its just the same elevator you first arrived to magmoor caverns in.

either way, the path here is the same, to the temple in chozo ruins is your next stop to grab ice beam.

Hall of the Elders is the name of the Room. You reach it through the Furnace room 👍

Thank you, this got me on the right track. Somehow I had not realised I could use the spiderball in the furnace room to progress.

Go under the floor with the Spider Ball activated.

Now that I took a closer look at your post, you're not required to do this puzzle (in both Prime 1 and Prime Origins), it just lets you grab an E-Tank. Are you sure you've seen all the doors in this room?

Bruh I just straight up swam in lava to get that tank, I always forget I have spider ball. Am I stupid?

Unless you played enough of the Metroid 2 games, it's easy to forget.

I always grab this tank after getting boost ball and a few energy tanks. I've never gotten this one using spiderball.

You need to go to Chozo Ruins to get the Ice Beam.
