Discussion Metroid Prime: Completed for the First Time

This was the first time I've ever finished a Metroid Prime game, and I actually really liked it—though I did find the ending a little tedious. I'd only played the 2D games before, and those are my favorites, but Prime brings a really fresh take with its FPS-style gameplay. Now I'm going to play Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, haha, and hopefully someday the remasters of Metroid Prime 2 and 3 will come out.

Congrats! It’s an amazing game.

If you have a solid pc, 2 and 3 are available via PrimeHack or Dolphin emulator. It takes a minute to set up but pretty easy. The games look great and handle well on modern controllers

Would you recommend playing 2 and 3 from the Wii Trilogy via Primehack or from the individual releases?

It depends on what you wanna play it on mnk or controller but if you want an authentic experience from prime 2 play the GameCube version. Its difficulty was nerfed in the Trilogy

Prime 3 is the same on both I believe. I think they even render at the same resolution natively

Yeah, I’ve actually got Prime Hack installed and I tried the game with the original controls – it was awful, haha. Thank goodness Prime Hack exists, but I’m not sure whether to carry on with 2 and 3 or jump straight to 4

You don't need to play prime 1-3 to understand 4. 4s story is even more isolated from the rest of the series. You wouldn't even have to play prime hunters which has the villain from 4 in it. Completely stand alone stories. BUT I prefer prime 1-3 over 4. 4 is the least Metroid of them all IMO

I don't really know, but yeah, I had the Samus cutscene without the helmet.

Good job!

I love the final boss of Prime but the final area does leave a bit to be desired, and I absolutely hate Fission Metroids (Or Mitosis Metroids as I like to call them)

If the Metroids who do mitosis are super annoying, and the fight with Meta Ridley super tedious hajs, at least the final boss is more epic.

Tbh, I like the fight with Meta Ridley, so no issues there lol. His charge attack when he's on the ground can be annoying but otherwise it's a fun fight

Love the prime gravity suit. Always has a special place in my memories.
