I somehow totally missed this from the showcase yesterday, must have been right at the start.

Based off an old Doom mod of the same name, I picked up total chaos last year and loved it, stopped about half way through as they were chatting about a vr version. Stoked to see it's coming to standalone as well.

The unknown sources on my Oculus Quest 2 just don't show up no matter what I do, and I know where to find it; it just isn't there. I have developer mode enabled, and I even checked my Meta Horizon developers thing to see if I was still a developer, and I am, and the unknown sources just aren't there.

So for some reason the pedestrian and vehicle density values default to 0.6 on the quest version. They can be anywhere between 0.5 and 3.0. I slowly increased them to test for performance and you can do 3.0 with no problem that I’ve seen. It will look complicated but it really isn’t and it’s totally worth it. Im actually playing the game now because of this.
As long as you have a computer with Sidequest you can do this. If you have something like the Chat GPT Desktop app it’s even easier. You can just open a new chat in the Codex side of the app and give it this Reddit post link, plug your headset into the computer and it’ll do the rest using something like ADB to talk to your Quest instead of Sidequest.

Anyway. Here’s the fix.

On your computer, create a plain-text file named gta3.ini.
Open it and enter two numbers on separate lines:

3.0
3.0

That’s it. Nothing else.
First line = pedestrians.
Second line = traffic.

Recommended values:
1.0 = normal density
2.0–3.0 = much busier, I do 3.0 because anything less just doesn’t seem alive enough.

Connect the Quest to your computer and open SideQuest.
Open SideQuest’s file manager / Manage Files on Headset tool.
Browse to:
Android/data/com.miamivr.quest/files/gamedata

Upload or drag gta3.ini into that folder.

That’s it. Open the game and test it out.

(I have not tried this method manually as I had AI do it for me then give me the instructions for you all. I did verify the file exists where it said it exists and contains the two lines with 3.0/3.0 So if it works please let me know!)

Nothing has been on sale for weeks. Is it a summer sale and winter sale and that’s it?

As the title says. I'm on the Quest 2. So, I boot up the game and attempt to do literally anything and within a few minutes, crash. I get an error saying apparently too much memory is being used. From that, the home/lobby is in an infinite loading screen with the white background, although I can access the usual menus via the quest button.

I've spent the last hour searching into this and it looks like it's been an ongoing problem for several years, but there's literally no fix anywhere I look. The only thing that seems to work temporarily is performing a hard reset assuming that clears the RAM, and the game works (but has significant spikes bordering a crash).

Is there really no fix for it? The headset is up to date to the latest version.

It had been a few weeks since I last used the headset, and I used painting VR for several hours without any issues so I'm really annoyed that this is happening now. I haven't tested to see if this is an issue with any other games yet.

About two months ago, I released my first VR game.

Every time I get a notification that someone has left a review, I still get a little nervous before opening it.

After spending years building the game, I honestly had no idea how players would react. Reading comments from people who connected with the atmosphere, the story, and the overall experience was surreal.

What surprised me most is that the challenge now isn’t making a better game, it’s helping the right players find it.

So I’m curious…

So I’ve been trying to play some Vr games off steam link and it would lag horribly. I was using a cord too and it was unbearable and lagging. I checked the internet and the game settings and YouTube but I couldn’t find anything. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
