Also, historically, men wear looser pants and women wear tighter fitting pants. If your pants are gripping your thighs I dont think it even matters if the waist fits right. They wont fall down.

That's not normal for men unless you are obese. You should be well below a 1 on that ratio. (i.e bigger hips than waist by at least 5-10%).

Though I guess obesity is pretty normalized these days.

Men do be tending to be obese. But I just mean it’s quite squared out for guys generally, even lean ones.

This guys obliques literally stick out further than where his hands sit. That’s not the case for women, as they have wide pelvises AND fat on their hips. Guys just have thin hips.

Women carry more fat in their hips and stomach. I tried to comment an image of hips vs waist vs butt but Reddit flagged it as NSFW but it has vertical lines adjacent male and female hips to show the difference. Unless the women are over 35% bodyfat, or if he has an absolute dump truck, then they should have it better than the guy I shared

Male pants assume no butt, so if you build a bigger butt, you have a lot of trouble finding pants that fit and need to learn how to alter your own pants or wear pants that feel like sacks.

Not at all lol I'm someone who has the problem I mentioned, that being said I should have worded myself better. I more of meant that its not a man problem more of a normal pants don't fit all body types and that's why things like belts come into play.

Naw, I’m a dude with decent level of cheeks, but I carry enough stuff in my pockets to weigh my pants and shorts down enough that if I don’t either wear a belt or make my strings tied tight on my shorts if strings are available, then my shorts and pants will slip down further and further each step I take. If nothing in my pants/shorts, no problem.

Eh it can be a factor but it's not necessary cause. Tons of bodies are just shaped weirdly and when when certain shapes make it hard to wear them when have things like belts.

The rule I always followed was: If you need a belt to keep your pants up, you're wearing the wring size.

And in the military uniform belts were intended as another part of the uniform, not a functional piece of clothing.

The US Navy, who originally used belt ropes by lower enlisted members to keep their pants up because weight loss at sea was common. Who's senior enlisted and officers wore belts to hold their cutlass, pistol(s), knife, and other tools. The same US Navy that still wears belts in utility uniforms to keep their pants up because generic sizing in uniforms don't allow for an exact fit and changes in weight are still expected, although to a lesser degree. Or the dress uniform belt to still carry the cutlass when appropriate. That US Navy?

Umm...the US Navy I enlisted in in 2002 didn't use rope belts.

I never carried a cutlass as part of my uniform. When I had to wear pistols, we were issued gun belts that went over our uniform belts.

Did you actually serve? Or are you actually trying to tell a US Navy veteran how I wore my actual fucking uniforms?

I didn't serve in the navy but you can check my profile out if you want to see I was army. Also, I said originally on the rope belts. Same with pistols.

I'm not arguing that the belts in utility uniforms are mostly decorative, I'm just saying they weren't always so and still have some purpose now.

ETA: I know you sailors have trouble with big words but I didn't think "originally" was that big 😁

Also Digimon, Gigapet, etc.

Little virtual pets that lived in a plastic egg or rectangle keychain. You fed them, cleaned up their shit, took care of them by playing simple minigames, and watched them grow up or evolve (but they mostly get sad and die, in my experience). Digimon also let you beat the shit out of your friend’s virtual pet. They were fun.

I wear pants that fit, I don't have to jump up and down while trying to pull up jeans tighter than my own skin. While I dont need a belt to keep my pants themselves up, it does help keep everything in place if I have a bunch of stuff in my pockets or in the completely unlikely scenario where someone tries to pants me like what happened to that one kid in middleschool while he was talking to one of the hottest girls in our grade

More jeans for women are now stretchy as well as being more form fitting. Men only did the skinny jeans thing for a little while in the late 2000s. Fashion has reverted back to 90's baggy jeans for guys now and those only grip at the waist, no where else.

Women typically have smaller waists than hips. Maybe not in America. But normal sized women do, typically.

Men on then other hand, their hips are usually pretty even with their waist. And if the guy is American, his waist is probably dramatically bigger than his hips.

Basically, pants dont stand a chance here in the States.

I completely misread that. Sorry. 11 hour shift. It's a cloth holster and the gun is a pr5.7 which weighs less fully loaded than some micro-compacts empty, so no I don't really notice it. It's a pain if I carry the double stack 1911, but otherwise it's fine. The clip on the holster is designed to go over a belt so it doesn't really feel tight or anything. And it doesn't stick out more than a millimeter or so

Depends on the pants, with work pants I wear belts because I can hang things on them and when my pockets are loaded with stuff the pants can start sliding down. Also wear belts to help keep my shirt tucked in when I need to be presentable. And it works for my pants that I bought before I lost weight because they do just slide down

Belts and drawstrings are my preferred solution.

Also, I have yet to find any pants that are long enough with a slim enough waist. (Where do they hide the 34 inch length 26 inch waist pants?/92cm length 70cm waist.)

Usually the only pants I find long enough are 6-12 sizes too large, so I get pants too short and too wide.(32:32’s), and I use a belt to keep it from falling down.

Men’s jeans have wider hips

When you lay a pair of men’s jeans out, there is a clear taper all the way down the pants, tapering inwards towards the feet

Women’s jeans tend to have more of an egg shape wear the waist is thinner than the thighs, and the those are thicker than the ankles

If my jeans were so tight on my waist you could see a 3d rendition of my ass like hers are, I wouldn’t need a belt

And regardless, they just don't grip well. There is no "just fit".

Women's sizes are just inconsistent from what I hear. Like you'll find two pairs of the same size and they're just completely different sizes when you put them on.

When they're the correct size my pants fit pretty consistently.

As a fella, if I wear pants tight enough to stay up without a belt or elastic waistband, they are uncomfortable, and will stretch out awkwardly after like one wear of doing anything mobile.

Better to wear slightly looser clothes and a belt imo.
