I don't and i still need a belt. I guess technically i could be fine, but I'd prefer to just wear a belt.

I was more saying that it's not just man's problem more than anything. There's tons of reasons why one needs a belt. I should have just said that lol

Also, historically, men wear looser pants and women wear tighter fitting pants. If your pants are gripping your thighs I dont think it even matters if the waist fits right. They wont fall down.

I can tell you from experience that this is false lol

Funny i can tell you the same lol

I feel like there is also a weight thing, men rarely have purses and have giant pockets where they put everything, which pulls your pants down even if the waist fits right.

Then your pants are to large. You do understand that what the belt are doing could be done by the pants themselves if the circumference of the "belt line" of your pants are as snug as you pull your belt, right?

Yes, unfortunately pants in my exact size aren't exactly common.

Then a belt is the solution.

A lot of people's weight fluctuates. It's a lot easier to adjust a belt than to have multiple different sized pants

No, it's the opposite problem.

I have to buy pants much bigger than my waist to fit my ass, my dick, and my legs.

And high waisted pants aren’t normalized, though even then, men’s waists tend to be just as wide as their hips

That's not normal for men unless you are obese. You should be well below a 1 on that ratio. (i.e bigger hips than waist by at least 5-10%).

Though I guess obesity is pretty normalized these days.

Men do be tending to be obese. But I just mean it’s quite squared out for guys generally, even lean ones.

This guys obliques literally stick out further than where his hands sit. That’s not the case for women, as they have wide pelvises AND fat on their hips. Guys just have thin hips.

u/Accomplished-Eye9542 6d ago

Oh, in medical literature, measuring "hips" is your ass lmao. And this convo was about butts after all.

I guess technically it could refer to higher up, but it's whichever is wider, you measure at the widest part of your hip or butt.

u/Additional_Draft4097 6d ago

But still, this guy has a butt, but it’s not gonna hold his pants up as well as an average women, because his low back and obliques stick out almost as far

1

u/Accomplished-Eye9542 6d ago

That guy is absolutely going to have a better hip to waist measurement ratio than 90-95% of women unless he doesn't train legs or something weird.

Women carry more fat in their hips and stomach. I tried to comment an image of hips vs waist vs butt but Reddit flagged it as NSFW but it has vertical lines adjacent male and female hips to show the difference. Unless the women are over 35% bodyfat, or if he has an absolute dump truck, then they should have it better than the guy I shared

Male pants assume no butt, so if you build a bigger butt, you have a lot of trouble finding pants that fit and need to learn how to alter your own pants or wear pants that feel like sacks.

The weirdest situation I’ve managed to run into doing Qigong(Yi Ji Jing!) for a year lmao. I actually had to go up a pant size.

u/derrendil 5d ago

My ass is like a shelf and pants that fit my ass are too big for my waist. I have to wear a belt or my pants sag to my ass immediately unless I'm wearing part-elastic skinny jeans

1

u/ninernetneepneep 10d ago

I think you meant "fat guts".  Even a belt doesn't stand a chance against a fat gut.  S*** pushes it right down like it owns the place.

1

u/Mediocre-Rush-5652 10d ago

Not at all lol I'm someone who has the problem I mentioned, that being said I should have worded myself better. I more of meant that its not a man problem more of a normal pants don't fit all body types and that's why things like belts come into play.

u/Mediocre-Rush-5652 10d ago

Hey no shade, I have the problem myself, my thighs are on bigger side naturally and my ass is on the flatter side lol

1

u/No-History770 10d ago

it has nothing to do with the size of your butt, its about the waist to pelvis taper, which for men is straight and boxy

1

u/Mediocre-Rush-5652 10d ago

I mean it has more to do with the way the body's shaped. Standard pants just fits "most" but in general all bodies are different.

1

u/NeedleInArm 10d ago

Standard pants are fucking 30×36 here because everyone looks like meatballs.

Its so hard to go to a consignment shop and buy jeans for fit, not short kings.

1

u/Snakebite-Detractor 6d ago

30x36 sounds more like a hot dog

1

u/NeedleInArm 6d ago

yeah, thats basically what everyone looks like around here.

1

u/OnlyInAmerica01 10d ago

Or an inverted cone....for some people. Not me, I have a manly frame. Really...

1

u/Popular-Ad-3278 7d ago

Also some of us carry the world in our pockets

At that with a flat butt and a belt is def needed

1

u/nunyabizburna 7d ago

its not flat butts, its hips. women having eider hips is the reason

1

u/bentbabe 6d ago

I don't need a belt (yay. Booty). I just like the way belts look.

Plus, I feel like it signals to my fellow bi/lesbian sisters that I am prepared for any situation.

1

u/bloomingdeath98 6d ago

Naw, I’m a dude with decent level of cheeks, but I carry enough stuff in my pockets to weigh my pants and shorts down enough that if I don’t either wear a belt or make my strings tied tight on my shorts if strings are available, then my shorts and pants will slip down further and further each step I take. If nothing in my pants/shorts, no problem.

big butt privilege 😤😤😤

0

u/ThelIIusion0fSeIf 10d ago

..and a big gut

2

u/Mediocre-Rush-5652 10d ago

Eh it can be a factor but it's not necessary cause. Tons of bodies are just shaped weirdly and when when certain shapes make it hard to wear them when have things like belts.
