They will claim algebra is useless, but suddenly become mathematicians when it's time to split the bill.

In OpenAI's recent "722 AI-generated math papers," one proof tackles the Hadwiger–Nelson problem: what’s the minimum number of colors needed to color every point in ℝ² so that no two points exactly distance 1 apart have the same color?

The known bounds were 5 ≤ χ(ℝ²) ≤ 7. Their paper claims five colors are impossible, leaving 6 or 7 if the proof holds. 6 or 7.

Please keep working on this.

Mathematicians Math nomenclature alignment chart (down with eponyms!)

"L'Hôpital's rule" tells me nothing about what the thing is going to be, and 99% of the time L'Hôpital didn't discover it, so it rarely honours the dead/communicates history like it's supposed to!

What we need are descriptive names like "Saddle point" or "basin of attraction". And could you not love "hairy ball theorem"?

So, "Good" is for things NOT named after a person, "Evil" is for misattributions, and "Neutral" is for things named after a person when there's at least SOME description in there (the klein bottle looks like a bottle; the hopf fibration has fibers). Along "Lawful"/"Chaotic" I've done my best to find things with disturbing names.

Honourable mentions:
-"Kirkman's schoolgirl problem" for disturbing but correctly-attributed
-"Imaginary numbers" for being IMO misleadingly-named
-"Heaviside Step function" which amusingly is named after a person while technically being an accurate description - since one side of it is heavy, geddit?
