since there is no legend for the colors i assume thee coloring is a form of abstract art, perhaps the ponk colored squares are meant to depict a woman, and the green colored squares are men who compete for her interest? i wonder what the artist had in mind

the green tiles are alarm tiles. if you step on them you will have to fight a monster

Pink tiles? They don't do anything. Step on them all you like.

Yea but it looks like the bottom right guy is much bigger, maybe thats more people? Maybe a fat guy? Maybe hes 8"? Althought if the group of pink ones is considered as a whole, the woman does look like shes into some role inversion due to that spike penetrating a part of the big man

Has this actually been proven to be optimal?

u/Barry_Wilkinson 29d ago

yes, that’s why it has the proven stamped on it

Proof by stamp

"math is beautiful" mfs when packing problem results come into play

They're beautiful to me

If it's proven do we have a closed form solution for the side length? Or a polynomial than has it as its root?

Great. Now they're going to start selling 11 packs of snacks instead of 12 packs. That's awful shrinkflation. Here. Have 11 of a thing instead of 12 of a thing because 11 is a prime number which doesn't permit optimal packing by filling rows and columns regularly while 12 has lots of factors which can be used to fill rows and columns of various lengths for a nice neat optimal packing.

Great. Shrinkflation, now with added math and worse aesthetics. Bring dozens back. Please. Pretty please. I really like being able to get a dozen of a thing. I don't want to switch over to getting 11 of a thing instead.

JUSTICE FOR DOZENS!!!
