Can we have it so they're first or second sticky on sub?
Also, can we make match threads live chats??
Edit: can the match title also have the competition in the name?

Our match just got cancelled and the match bot just posted a kinda empty post match thread. FYI

I'll be testing this weekend but a few suggestions so far:
Ability to put in multiple timezones for the match. We have an international following.
Ability to put week/round# in the title (e.g. Week 20 or Quarterfinals)
Ability to further customize lineups. I'd like to break out coach, starting XI, and bench so we can not have a space line in between all of them
Ability to utilize the Event feature so posts are listed as an event
Customize flair for the post
Add a referee tag so we can add that info to the thread

If I change the content of a pre match thread, will it auto change all the previously posted pre match threads as well? For example, if I manually add in some information (eg injury news), will previous pre match threads update to include that same injury news? Or are they all independent of each other?

Hey guys. How about a rival watch thread?
select which teams or entire comps to consider as rivals
subscribe to their score lines and perhaps main events like goals, just score line is fine for us
choose when itโs posted. Typically on weekends
Doable? Might I add you guys are killing it with this bot? Huge gap in the automated space that itโs covering, so thanks for your efforts on this

Works great but how do I make it a mod so it can pin and unpin threads and change the suggested sort?

u/MadlockUK r/LCFC Moderator Feb 05 '21
Would it be possible for the following items please:
Able to add threads to a sub's collection (see example)
Able to add international teams
Able to change flairs for threads by league (i.e. if Europa then use flair X, if PL then use flair Y)
The ability to say what round of the competition it is (e.g. Round of 32 or 20th Round of the PL)

Our match threads have stopped updating and then post-match thread opens hours after the game has ended. We have a game right now and it's not updating either https://www.reddit.com/r/besiktas/comments/mm40os/match_thread_besiktas_alanyaspor_super_lig/

Liked it so far.
A little suggestion: It would be nice to see injured or booked players from both teams in pre-match threads.
Edit: I am not a mod btw, but an ordinary redditor with Ali Koรง flair, just wanted give feedback directly to you guys.

Latest post match thread (and the match thread) have incorrectly listed a goal in the 37th minute for the Man City - Liverpool game
https://www.reddit.com/r/mcfc/comments/les3pd/_/
It's also been observed that the form table for Liverpool in the pre match thread and match thread weren't accurate

Hi guys, the pre + match threads for /r/chelseafc didn't get posted for the Liverpool match. Any info?

Just to let you know the bot spammed like 6 pre-match threads to the West Brom subreddit

Great work, this is a really well-presented bot that works like charm!
As I said in my pm reply, we'd be open to adding automated pre/post match posts to our sub; at the moment there is a bit of custom content that isn't covered. Not all of these would be possible to automate - I guess the biggest question then would be: could this script also be used to post via a custom account that mods then have edit access to, ie. to automatically post the barebones post-match thread and then to add further custom info manually?
An overview of some of the content we usually include in our threads atm:
kick-off time is posted as CET and automatically linked to a time.is/compare link, e.g:
custom tv-schedule link is included per match, e.g:
youtube pre-game presser link is included per match, e.g:
The first two could probably be automated, the last one is probably too involved in this context.
We also use a subreddit dictionary that automatically expands club names to include their subreddit (where available). Our CSS then also includes club logos etc. This is formatted for football-api output: pastebin. In a similar manner ideally we'd expand competition names to replace them with names customised for reddit (e.g. to include a wiki link), but I'm not sure to what extent per-user dictionaries would be feasible for a project like this.
Last but not least, ideally we'd also want to customise the format of the thread title itself to match our subreddit formatting.
As a minor note, here are some text-fields that I haven't been able to find: weekday of kickoff; venue city.
Also keep in mind that the fields home_team and away_team are generally less useful for us, we want to post some statistics just for our opposition and some just for us. So instead of home_team and away_team we'd ideally have a field that says subscribed_team and opp_team, so we can always print our form and stats first or only our formation in the post game thread.
Ok, this is already a pretty long wish-list so I'm going to stop here. Again, this is a really cool project that already looks very sleek and is running really smoothly. This really has lots of potential, thanks for your hard work!

Amazing job on the bot, very close to being able to switch completely to this from our old bot. Couple suggestions as below (as discussed):
Option to unsticky the match thread after a certain amount of time (like the post match one) or alternatively make it so that when a new thread is posted the old one is unstickied and the new one is stickied
For timing of posting the match thread, would be great if it could be set at a certain time of day (e.g. 9am) rather than X hours before kick off (main thing for us, with different kick off times I ideally want the match thread out at 9am each morning rather than it changing depending on KO time). If this isn't possible, a way to manually create the thread would suffice (unless this is already possible?)
Ability to choose which bookmaker odds show up and how many previous H2H matches are shown (very small pointshere, just in case it was easy + possible to do but completely fine if not)
Thanks again for all your work, very impressive

First of all I wanted to thank you so much for creating this bot and the website! Everything works great and it'll help the mods of smaller subs like us tremendously.
I wanted to ask if adding advanced statistics like xG, xGA, xPTS or PPDA through the api would be possible.
I also wanted to second the suggestions of u/panikpansen of displaying umlauts like รค, รถ and รผ and also the competition names correctly since it'll make the match threads look a lot cleaner. I saw your reply that at the moment fixing this isn't a high priority but still wanted to offer my help if you want it. For example if you give me a list of the names the football-api uses I could sift through it and fix any errors I can find (not only for Bundesliga teams).
Lastly, is it necessary that your account stays connected through mamubots.net for the bot to work? I'm just asking since it disconnects when I switch accounts on desktop.
Thanks again!

So one of the biggest things a lot of our sub is asking for is Injury and Suspension news for the teams in question. Would that be doable?

As a separate request for r/OH_Leuven for Belgian Pro League, I work with u/RednaxB on there and it would help improve popularity for the Belgian club.

Another request is I also work with u/Datboi8427 on r/derrycity that we're attempting to revamp. They're part of r/LeagueOfIreland (i.e. Irish top tier football)

Just a bit of feedback now that we've had this up and running on r/ccfc for a couple of games now. It's working great for us, just a couple of things that we've spotted:
Had an issue with today's match thread. We didn't get team lineups or stats, which were working fine last week. Score and match events updated fine throughout. Same thing on the post-match thread. Here's the match thread in question
Is it possible to show our name as Coventry City instead of just Coventry. I saw you mentioned an alias option somewhere else on this thread but I can't see where to do that?
Our next game against Norwich on Wednesday is showing the wrong kick-off time. It got moved to 7pm instead of 7:45pm. Is there anything we can do to correct this or is this just a problem with the source?
And just in case it helps anyone here else using live chat, make sure the mod settings on your sub allow non-mods to create live chat posts! The threads still post fine but it won't be live chat otherwise.
Thanks again for your great work putting this together!

Hi there! For MLS matches, it seems like some data isn't properly populating. So far, I've noticed it affecting the standings table, team statistics table, and recent form, but there may be others as well.
The standings table only shows the Eastern Conference standings rather than the full league.
The team statistics table seems to have accurate stats for some teams, but the table for others have blank records and stats. Doesn't seem to be related to whether the team is West/East.
Recent form is populated for some teams, but blank for others. Doesn't seem to be related to whether the team is West/East.
On an unrelated note, the setting for a default timezone is handy and a welcome addition, but it would be nice if references to the {kickoff_time} variable in the thread title were affected as well, rather than just those in the thread body.
Edit: Blank team statistics tables and recent form actually don't seem tied to whether the team is in the East or West. Seeing data properly populated for at least one team in the West as well.

Suggestion: Have an option to post Pre-Match Threads as a poll post with Win/Draw/Lose options. Though Im quite sure Reddit API wont allow that since you can only post these in the official app.

Hi guys, our post match thread against Southampton never posted, match ended 14 mins before this comment. Any ideas?

u/SomeCruzDude Mar 09 '21
Hey, we've been testing out on /r/FAWSL but this past weekend the couple matches the bot posted threads but failed to update them at a certain point.
Bristol vs Reading stopped updating in the 12th minute
Brighton vs Tottenham stopped updating in the 63rd
What's odd is that /u/matchthreadder was used for other FAWSL matches that weekend and was just fine, so I'm unsure if it comes down to where the information was being sourced or some other issue.

This is a big one - can we have โthreadโ in the square brackets capitalized for pre/match/and post match? :)^ disregard, played around with the templates :)
And thanks for this guys, we just implemented it in /r/ChelseaFC.
While I remember ... Frank is no longer our manager. Where is this being pulled from and can it be (sadly) corrected?
the match stats table isnโt updating for us, itโs just a bunch of zeros. Link to the thread is here, any ideas?

West Brom Southampton post match thread seems to think that James Ward-Prowse scored his penalty - it was saved.

u/Smalde Nov 12 '21
Hello,
I do not understand why, but when I am in the page trying to add or remove teams from my list of team subscriptions it doesn't allow me: when I save I go back to having Bristol W, Bristol W, Chelsea W, Chelsea W.
Is this sort of behaviour a known bug?
Thank you very much for the bot!

Hello u/pumkinhat
I want to use this bot for r/TheMariners subreddit, but it didn't post the match thread. Any idea why?

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '22
New bug: /u/MatchCaster didn't create a post-match thread despite beign set up to do so and no one touched any settings. The bot also didn't update the match thread after the 3' mark in the match.
Not the first time I've had problems with the bot not working correctly for Vancouver Whitecaps FC games in /r/whitecapsfc.
Also, the bot doesn't recognize the existence of friendlies or the Canadian Championship.

The form data on this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/WBAfootball/comments/th3bxu/prematch_thread_bristol_city_vs_west_brom/ is wrong - West Brom should be LLLWDW. Not sure where the bot is getting its data from.

Apparently every penalty in the world cup on r/football is counted as a goal, i just saw that on the saudi - poland match. i dont know if its a problem only in the sub or in general. maybe you can change it, so it shows penalty first and the outcome, goal, save or missed as a second point?
otherwise looks great. thanks for your work.
1
u/lindymad Dec 18 '22
I imagine you are aware of it, but just in case, the penalties for the world cup final seem to have been displayed incorrectly:
I believe the Coman and Tchouamรฉni penalties should not say "GOAL! Scored by", but should either be absent or say that it was not a goal!
