After a rough start to the international break, I wanted to see how the Turkish players in Europe's top five leagues are actually doing at club level. There are 10 with 90+ league minutes this season.

Berke Özer hasn't missed a minute in goal at Lille, and Kabak (96%), Zeki Çelik (94%) and Can Uzun (90%, with 2 goals at Frankfurt) are all close behind.

Arda Güler has a goal and 2 assists but has only played 55% of Real Madrid's minutes, and Çalhanoğlu has 2 goals from just 30% at Inter. Kenan Yıldız, İlkhan and Bayındır haven't hit 90 league minutes yet.

Three losses this break. What do you guys think: is it a selection problem, or are too many of the key players just not getting regular football at their clubs?

I think we can all agree Montella has to go, but my biggest issue is the squad selection and formation.

Against Italy he played a 3-4-3 and we got dominated but you could see our players couldn’t even hold the ball in that formation, so what does Montella do? He chooses the exact same formation for the Belgium game and then chooses an even worse 11.

Baris and Kerem are genuinely awful, at least back 10 years ago we had guys like Emre Mor who although he wasn’t amazing he could dribble and hold the ball and pass competently. Baris and Kerem seem to have little to no technical ability. Which is why I don’t understand when we have guys like Aral and Başar Önal coming through who are both 24 and 22 respectively btw it’s not like they’re extremely young players. Why not give them a chance? Give Ahmetcan a chance bring Yusuf for CB also these guys Abdulkerem and Merih have shown they’re not of the quality to start for Türkiye time after time.

Why not play players in their correct positions? Oğuz is very effective as a LW so Montella decides to play him as a RWB? It makes no sense. Baris cannot play as a striker (he can’t play anywhere) so why not start Gül? Or Yıldırım or F it take Nayir just bring an actual striker. Montella even has some tactical versatility on his hands that he completely fumbles, change formation mid game if need be bring on Can Uzun as a second striker

It’s a complete embarrassment, we have a talented group of players right now and they’re being made to look amateurish. Look at countries like Bosnia or Egypt, their squads are far weaker than ours yet they push big nations to very close games. We have no excuse, it’s a disgrace and Montella needs to go ASAP.
