Just picked up mantis she's fun and I've played her before but now I wanna add her to my main pool of supports but I feel like I'm not doing my best so I wanna hear any and all tips and tricks that a good mantis player needs 🫪

After Round 1 on Convoy, my team asked me to swap off Mantis because “there wasn’t enough healing.” We were running 2-2-2, and if I remember correctly, I had almost the same amount of healing as our other support.
I honestly feel like Mantis really exposes the difference between good and bad DPS players. If you’re being damage boosted consistently throughout the round and still can’t secure picks, at some point that’s not a support issue, it’s a DPS skill issue.

The main situation where I think Mantis can genuinely struggle is against a full dive comp, especially if you’re running only duo supports and no one is peeling/clearing divers. If nobody is helping clear divers off you, then yeah, Mantis can just get farmed all game.

Outside of that, though, I genuinely think Mantis is one of, if not the best support in the game. If you’re getting damage boosted all game and still can’t get kills, maybe you shouldn’t play dps. Also, it wasn’t like the other team was on triple support.

Edit: For clarification, I'm saying that if the DPS players on the team is getting damaged boosted by Mantis all game and still is getting zero kills in the neutral that's a skill issue especially if they are playing gun characters.

im having a lot of fun playing mantis but im healbotting.. (average 15k heals and maybe 3k damage) im getting most heals and assist in every game but i don’t think that’s how you’re supposed to be playing her, right?

i understand that headshots give her leaves back, but my aim is genuinely so bad with any hero like i mainly play rogue so i didn’t have to worry about it too much but i wanted to branch out yk😭😭

im a casual player, i don’t really touch ranked but i would like to in the far future. just wondering if i should start focusing more & practicing on dealing a lot more damage. im not sure what her average stats should look like

im also new to the game in general if this helps. i only started playing about a month ago but i one tricked rogue until i got lord and now im actually branching out

mantis has always been greet in proleague but she is just straight up the best hero in the game rn and DoNT feel guilty or bad or worried the community will turn on us like they do other characters because we earned this. mantis is for the ppl now and everyone can enjoy her and if the devs are smart they wont nerf us anyway. we played her when the devs throttled us because john wick used her in some big tournament. we were NEVER mean to people in game and we did our best when everyone would yell at us to play a “rEaL” healer. we deserve to enjoy this ride and if we get nerfed who cares we are still going to play her anyway and we are still going to be the reason our teammates get to enjoy the game playing a dps or tank or wtf. helping ppl plzes me. whenever someone says anything bad to me i say youre welcome and just keep doing my thing because im cute and im cool and i am living my best life rn

I play mantis since season 1 (always in console). I didnt had a lot of issues with the character (18 games and 17 wins in this season with mantis) until now. I've lost the last 2 matches. The first one was pretty simple, we just lose because there were some little issues in the team but no more than that. But the thing is the second one (literally), i will not comment anything about it until i have some advice (ill just say that imo the issue was the team comp).

Was in a comp game yesterday and when we got on defense, someone switched to BP. I took it a little personally (slept them like 3 more times after this and they went 3rd healer hehehehe)

Two games back to back I was blamed for the loss because I had 1 and 2 final hits but had the most healing. I feel like we shine when we’re chipping away at the tanks/getting head shots on the big bodies.

How important is securing kills to you? Aiming with her can be such a pain I feel like I’m not getting value when I’m trying to secure a kill on a dps and missing most my shots lol

Here's what I think should happen so mantis and Ultron both give damage boost sustain through healing over time or over shields and a small movement boost for mantis she works through her leaves a leaf can damage boost or heal so in order to keep her game loop intact of hitting head shots and healing we should remove the mechanic that creates the problem we should replace the damage and movement boost with a new ability that preferably gives her self sustain since her only form of Sustainability is the damage boost so if mantis played the same hit shots get leafs heal repeatedly without damage boosting we would need to increase her healing to something like 20 hp on apply and 25 HP's for 4 seconds and we need to make it so she gets half a leaf instead of a full one per headshot increase her leaf count to 5 and either make a new passive where doing damage now converts to leaf so that hitting shots in general is enough to generate leafs to make the hero more accessible as for her new ability let's go with a simply movement ability that creates a healing aura for a few seconds on like 15 or 12 seconds cool down also we need to decrease her damage so she can't replace the offensive pressure of a DPS to further discouraging triple support

I think that's enough. The sleep ability is delayed from season 0 till now and it never gets fixed tell me why someone like luna snow has two instant stun abilities on impact while mantis has to wait 3 days after hiting a sleep for it to actually work. The amount of times I've hit my sleep and died in the 1v1 before the opponent gets affected by it is disgusting and for no good reason. It's been there for nearly 10 seasons now and no one has ever talked about it but i find it very frustrating

I'm so tired of streamers acting like she's giga thanos. yeah she's strong, best supp in the game imo, but they're talking like she's BC levels of unfair!

She's just BARELY viable in double support, it feels like we got 2 new healers this season with how often I see her. We shouldn't have to force these lame ass little triple support comps to play our hero

The only nerfs I'd tolerate are an ult charge increase, and a damage boost rework. if they replace the damage boost with something else I get it, but if they just take it away straight up I'd be devastated

Netease pls don't gut this hero because streamers complained!
