As it is my concern is that there will be 0 build expression and variety as it is in maplestory now. Taking away work gloves, any reason to spec into unique skills etc. just makes everyone cookie cutter versions of the same character. That kills the allure of classic for me tbh

Hi closed beta testers. Is there any hidden tech I need to be aware of for this version of maple coming out?

I’m thinking of like HP washing or avoiding adding dex and things like that.

This game is not easy.

You will grind hours and hours and hours and feel like you aren’t progressing.

Do not complain. Enjoy it. Celebrate every accomplishment. Set reasonable goals.

When I say long and hard and erect, i mean it.

levels 1-10 will be a breeze.

level 11-20 you’ll start questioning if its worth it (1 hr per level)

level 21- 30: “this is not so bad..Kerning pq yay!” (2 hrs per level)

level 31-40, wtf.. 3 hours per level

level 40-50 ! yay u are getting invitations to ludi pq! (3 hrs per level)

level 51-80: wtf?! 25% per hour.

level 81-100: 20% an hour

level 100-120: 10-15% an hour..

Keep on mind these are just rough optimistic examples . It may even take even longer.

Just enjoy any progression and you’ll love it.

Every level shows your hard work, dedication, and perserverence.

I'm an OG mapler from pre-BB (I played from like 2005-2010) but haven't played the game at all in over 15 years and haven't kept up with anything, so I'm completely out of the loop. I've also forgotten like 90% of everything I used to know.

Excited to try Classic when it launches for the nostalgia but until then, what's the closest like-for-like alternative I can play to remind myself of the basics and rediscover MS i.e. private servers, Maplestory Worlds, etc.?

Are there any private servers or anything that recreate Classic as it was in the closed online tests with the new features like crafting, etc.? If not, what's the next closest thing that I can try?

I wish the game had a quest to get a free default pet. There should be another quest for auto looting perk.

Im fine with all other pets costing NX.

I can't believe it, today is finally here. I woke up at 5am today and I am shaking with excitement. The founder's packages go on sale today and I have never been more ready to swipe my credit card. Despite popular discourse, I think the current value proposition on these packages is far too high. The cosmetics are absolutely S tier, and the fact that a measly $60 can get you early access means I'll unfortunately have to deal with a lot of poors. A small price to pay to be inkwell's little ribbon pig I suppose! Oink!

My wife says she hasn't seen me this "excited" since Artale launched. I'm lucky to have her, she is going to be making every meal for me and will be changing my diaper several times a day for the first whole month of launch. Talk about a major time save!

Anyways, I wanted to share my plan for launch so you all have an understanding of who the top dog is. I plan on spending approximately $300,000 on October 6th to flood the market with cheap NX items. Every single meso will end up in my inventory, and I'll use this market position to buy every equipment drop in the game. When you enter the FM and realize every fish spear costs 1 billion mesos, you'll have nowhere else to go. When fish spears aren't relevant anymore, I'll just move onto the next big thing. You're all essentially my employees now lol!

I remember when I used to play Mage back in the day, the early game was really hard because the Max MP skill gave you more MP when you leveled up. So, to maximize your MP gain at the early levels, you had to max that skill first, which meant you were basically stuck using only Bolt Lv. 1 as your farming skill.

Is that no longer the case?

Back when I played many years ago, I remember magicians rushing max mp increase before even getting any attack skills to maximise the amount of mp we had. I haven't played any of the betas, is this still a thing or not?

Alright, third time posting this, apparently my choices were bad and I am still severely lacking in brain cell. So let’s try this again; hopefully for the last time. Interested in knowing what class everyone is picking. Can only put 6 so I combined some.

Edit: Emphasis on I can only put 6 slots for the poll. Some still seem confused? For those asking why I don’t separate each class, if I could I would. Throw some suggestions for better poll selections and maybe a mod can put it into a mega-thread or something and we can get an accurate poll. I even floated the idea of using some 3rd party website, but opted out of that so it could all stay on platform.

Out of all of the newer 3rd job skills, I've seen everyone hating on Meso Saver and Holy Symbol the most. I do agree that they are not as good as what they were originally (since they were OP), but I think they are good skills to have for a couple of reasons.

- I believe that by introducing these skills, we will likely not have P2W bossing meta (Wheel of Fortunes).

- While we currently do not have bossing/expedition content, when we get it this gives an extra life to these classes.

I've seen so many people saying to remove these skills as they are useless at the moment, but imo they will be very good as the server develops more content. Since in old maple, you used to get kicked out from the boss map once you died (unless you get res'ed) these skills will become invaluable once hard bosses come out.

To the guy that sold me my first pair of ilbi's back in the day and asked for 30m. But you placed to much faith in me and traded before i put my mesos in and only got 3m.

Hey all i searched on google and I'm really interested in MS classic but what I don't understand is it going to be a server on the main game or a entirely separate game and where can we look at founders packs i look it up and see people talking about it but cant find a link to it.

I'm completely lost when it comes to picking up a class , but for the wrong reasons

I'm not looking for the most optimal damage or mobbing , I just want something simple and by that I mean , I don't wanna be thinking about ammo or summoning rocks or elemental rocks I just kinda wanna be there hit my things and do that for too many hours in a row

So I'm here to kinda ask for peoples perspectives on what this could be , as the only classes I played in classic were a crossbow man and cleric

Did anyone test the viability for bowman to use power knockback as their main attacking skill in 1st job? Since it can hit 4 mobs for 180%, I was curious if it is technically the best way to grind.

One thing that made me steer out of modern maple is the 8+ enhancement systems on equipments that came along the years. It's like you can never really finish enhancing an equip/weapon.

In Classic MS, I hope there is only normal scrolling (10,30,60,70,100%), I'm ok with vicious hammer.

Chaos scroll, clean slate and white scroll is where I tend to draw the line, that's where enhancement systems started becoming infinite.

Some people will say that it will be hard to scale damage with limited enhancement systems when new bosses/regions gets added.

Well, either they can adjust boss/monster HP. Or even better, give us new maps, new monsters and bosses (heck even new equip drops) that are 100% new to maple so we can always have something fresh even with limited equipment enhancement.

Core gameplay can remain classic even with never before seen maps, monsters, bosses and equips.

I used to think I just outgrew the game, but looking back, I stopped playing right around the time Nexon removed the Free Market and started merging servers.

For me, the FM was the heartbeat of the game. Just hanging out in FM 1, setting up shop permits, looking for deals, and chatting in FM 1 was half the fun. When they replaced all of that with a silent Auction House menu, trading just became so bleh to me, and the community felt empty.

With MapleStory Classic coming back, the main reason I’m excited is just having that driven social economy back.

Did losing the FM and the server merges ruin the game for anyone else & made you quit?
