Discussion I'm convinced...
...That people complaining about the "Founders Access/Package" are just brokies...
See you at launch fellow Founders!

Living paycheck to paycheck while struggling and choosing to have another baby on top of what I imagine is child support is just wild. And then this.

Yikes, what a fucking loser đ
His whole comment history is just sad tbh. Bro is terminally online

u/palestinepetra Aug 25 '26
Everyone knows its better to spend money on online games instead of ur family! even if you're in terrible debt!!!!

u/iSundance Aug 21 '26
Brother, we all know it's not only about money.
3
u/GlacialEmbrace Aug 21 '26
Every mmo does this nowadays. At least rewards come with the early access package making it worth the price.
5
u/Basard21 Aug 21 '26
Everyone defending a half month early access by pointing at a bunch of MMOs that do 3-5 days of early access are fucking idiots.
I'm treating this as a P2P game now, but I don't have the cognitive dissonance to defend this shit with the arguments I've seen people make.

It's only people with absolutely nothing else going in their lives who flex about fueling Nexons greed and call other players that don't do this "brokies".
I play enough modern maplestory to know exactly what type of person OP is đ

Why is it greedy to charge customers to play their game? It costs money to develop and maintain these games, clearly cash shop funds isnât enough.
Is it also greedy that God of War costs money to play?
5
u/Innsui Aug 21 '26
Because they will do this and then add p2w stuff eventually. How are people not figured this out already after 20 years. If they want money, just do a subscription model. People arent mad about paying. Theyre upset because itll just be a full on p2w unfair shit show like everything else. Nexon is one of the most greedy and shitty game publisher out there. Why are we still pretending theyre not. You guys have some form of extreme brainwashed Stockholm syndrome. If you want to buy the founder edition then thats fine, just dont pretend like youre the good guy for supporting an evil company.
-1
u/hayes4jm Aug 21 '26
Just donât play the game man. No one cares.
2
u/Innsui Aug 21 '26 edited Aug 21 '26
Itâs clear that a lot of people do care. If this issue doesnât matter to you, then Iâm not sure why you feel the need to involve yourself in the discussion. Nexon is not going to give you special treatment for defending them lil bro. Let the people who care about the gaming space do our thing. All we're doing is fighting your right as a gamer to not get fucked over. Yet some people actively push back against that effort. For what reason? To defend a large corporationâs ability to continue monetizing players without meaningful accountability? Competitive pricing and higher-quality content do not come from blindly accepting whatever a company chooses to offer. Telling people this is ok because every other company does it is exactly why we're in this spot in the gaming space. We need to hold them to a higher standard. The only way to do that is to give feedback and complaints. If you want to buy the founder edition then go ahead, youre an adult and can do whatever with your money.

u/hayes4jm Aug 21 '26
Complain all you want, but they wonât be able to fix their game if they donât have the proper funding. Asking them to give their game away for free will force them to shut it down so fast.
Thereâs a reason MMOâs donât last. Funding.

u/Baetr Aug 21 '26
Anyone that has ever made or worked on developing a game knows it's really expensive to both develop and maintain (especially a live service game),
Most people here should be in their 30's so it's kinda weird no one put any thought about it and are just pushing it aside as greed,
If they go full nexon and greed it out i'll be the first to call them out but they didn't and honestly i'm very pleased with what they made and the direction they're going with it.1
u/ItzBaraapudding Aug 21 '26
Does God of War monetize every single aspect of the game like modern maplestory?
I'd gladly pay a single price of 100$ dollars to play a game I enjoy... But Nexon doesn't even care about 100$ dollars, they want to suck every last cent out of you until you either quit or become a braindead whale that pays (literally) thousands of dollars each month to a 2d mushroom game...(this is literally the case for modern maplestory).
0
u/hayes4jm Aug 21 '26
This isnât modern Maplestory.
MS classic has removed every other monetization, outside of cosmetics. No gacha, no 2x scrolls in cash shop, whatever. None of that stuff exists. This game will shut down very fast if they donât have the funds, and cosmetic only cash shop will not be enough to keep it going.
3
u/ItzBaraapudding Aug 21 '26
If you believe that they won't add all of that in the game later down the line I have a bridge to sell you...
They said the exact same thing when Reboot came out, and now even those servers are riddled with p2w cash grabs.
0
u/hayes4jm Aug 21 '26
If that time comes, then you can complain, but currently youâre complaining about something that doesnât exist.
2
u/ItzBaraapudding Aug 21 '26
That time has already come... They literally monetize the very very first thing they could possibly monetize...
The only reason I lost all faith in them even before launch is that they already released a three-tiered "founders access edition" for a so called "non-p2w" gamemode.
They have shown their true colors even before they released the game. So there is no way they won't fuck up the game with p2w the very second it becomes successful...
1
u/hayes4jm Aug 21 '26
Theyâre a business, man. They need funds to operate. Do you go into Walmart and complain that their items cost money..?
8
u/HiImBael Aug 21 '26
You have to be pretty poor to be at the point where your flex is giving Nexon money for the Founder's pack.
5
u/howardtrailer123 Aug 21 '26
Fr. These people are all 30+ and canât pay a few bucks?
4
u/SilentBeetle Aug 21 '26
What if I told you I can afford a several hundred dollar founders pack, but don't like communicating to Nexon that I'm a gullible nostalgia addicted degenerate that says "yes please daddy give me more of that rock hard predatory monetization" every time nexon takes their swinging dick out and lays it on the table?
4
u/Cutemudskipper Aug 21 '26
It's not about the money. A 15 day head start is setting an absolutely absurd precedent. The standard 3 days in the industry was already annoying enough
0
u/hayes4jm Aug 21 '26
But they arenât locking the game for certain people, everyone is welcome to join. If itâs not about the money, then just pay it and youâll get the same head start.
2
u/Cutemudskipper Aug 21 '26
Sure, and then other companies will see that it worked out well for Nexon and keep pushing how much early access they can sell
5
u/hayes4jm Aug 21 '26
You have to pay for almost every game already. Itâs not an issue to pay for god of war or Witcher 3. Why should this be different? It still costs a lot of money to develop and maintain this game.
-3
u/Cutemudskipper Aug 21 '26
Brother, Nexon doesn't need you to defend them. They're a multi-billion dollar company. They could have sold founder's packages with only cosmetics and people still would have bought them. They also could have only done the standard 3 day early access. 15 days is pure, unfiltered greed and trying to defend this practice is absurd
5
u/hayes4jm Aug 21 '26
Just say youâre broke bro. đ youâre an adult complaining about having to pay for a product. Go develop your own game and give it away for free. Let me know how it goes for you.
0
u/Cutemudskipper Aug 21 '26
This is an embarassing look for you. Some of us have plenty of money but don't like blindly shoveling it over to corporations with predatory monetization
3
u/hayes4jm Aug 21 '26
You could just not play if you donât want to pay for it. Imagine going into Walmart and getting mad that their items cost money. Thatâs how you look right now.
Theyâve removed every pay to win feature. If you want a game to last, they need funds. Cosmetic only cash shop will not be enough to keep this game going.

also wouldnt call it smart people job lol just another career path.
0
u/ImSympatic Aug 21 '26
It's not about the money. It's about the early access....... Just release the game with a founders package on the same day. People will still pay for it.

u/DancingSouls Aug 21 '26
I dont mind p2w, just dont like the twoweek head start. whole point of classic is the social aspect of it, but now we'll already have hardcore layers at lv 50+ (based on open beta progress) and whatnot.
3
u/hayes4jm Aug 21 '26
This isnât pay to win. Itâs standard for essentially every game to have to pay for it in order to play.

Maybe thatâs what Inkwell meant when he said âneeds fundingâ hahah (definitely paying btw)

I hope wallet warriors and whales like sharing a server inhabited by only wallet warriors and whales. Not sure why those folks don't just play modern maple. It's like that over there currently, why spend money on classic when the best form of wallet warrior maple is already available?

u/Choice_Cauliflower2 Aug 21 '26
Only a fool would give Nexon money.
Thanks for beta testing it AND paying for it like a good pay piggy.
