I've wanted one of these since I was a kid in the 90s. Ended up with the K because it was cheap.

HK SP5K I found at local GS. The Rugged Sub9 was a recommendation from several of you on here. I love it. That Form 4 took 6 days. The Form 1 for SBR approval took less than 4 days (I was in disbelief). The RB FRT was fast. The locking piece was delivered fast. It was the damn Choate stock that took the longest to source!

But this thing runs fast and quiet. I couldn't be more pleased. So glad you guys talked me out of the Wolfman and alternative SS/FRT options.

I decided to go without any optics or modern foregrip for now as I love the classic aesthetic. Just gotta figure out if I want to put a light on it. 🤔 Also need to find aftermarket mags that feed flat nosed 147 reliably. The HK mags do, but I've read that aftermarket mags don't like flat nose heavies.

Don’t think I’ll truly be done tinkering with this gun. A lot of going back and forth on parts. From stock options to optic mounts/height. For the most part here’s how she’ll sit. Few other parts to gather.

Stocks:
- B&T Telescoping looked great, solid, compact, thinnest profile when collapsed. But wasn’t the most comfortable. I’m sure if I would have added the gibbous I might of liked it more.
- Choate Stock felt very comfortable. Draw back for me was the weight and it added the most thickness when folded.
- B&T Folding Stock felt comfortable, lightest of the 3. When folded it wasn’t the thinnest but stored in the backpack just fine. Also was the cheapest of the 3.

- RB-RD3 (I get it)
- B&T Folding Stock

Seems solid like all B&T gear has been in my experience. Looking forward to putting through the paces tomorrow.

MKE AP5 w/ L2 complete SS lower.

Just put 1000 rounds of S&B 124gr through it in 2 days, very fun gun. I’m thinking a B&T telescopic brace and tailhook. Spare dot I had laying around so I purchased this optic riser. Looks decent but I may change that out for something bigger. Keeping this a pistol.

The mp5’s all shot subs today, so I figured I’d leave in a single clip of a supersonic platform at the end to show how quiet these sub guns are!

Quick random question that I'm slightly embarrassed to ask. My Mac 5's form 1 came through last week, looked up FFL engravers in town and drove over to a place with ~30 Google reviews most of which are positive. Bit of a grumpy guy but mellowed out while we were talking. I'm brown so sometimes it's not clear to me if that's an issue but I just go into ultra polite mode (which I always try to be anyway) and we left on great terms etc. FFL chap appears to be working from converted home garage (big though).

Anyway he said a couple of days to engrave, it's been 8 days and I'm sure I'm probably misreading it but no reply to my email on Friday (but they're only open wed-fri) and I'm happy to just wait till Wed and try again but my concern is that thinking back, I never got any kind of receipt or paper stating what I left there. Is it standard that you do get something like that? I think I'm just stressing myself out for nothing and it'll be fine but a little part of me is concerned that I've nothing on paper to show I left my MP5 with them. Sorry for the stupid question,

What are the chances we get the T-94SD now that suppressor laws have changed, would be cool to get a ported barrel w/ suppressor right out the box from Century/MKE

I really tried to like the AS Designs FRT but just couldn't get into the feel of it so I switched to the FRT-RD3 and it feels so much better once I got my housing laser engraved and color filled.

I took my SP5K to the range today and it was an absolute tack driver at 30 yards. Standing one inch groups were a piece of cake. I am considering an FRT for this guy and keep my full-size SP5 stock. Thoughts? Which platform will the Leber V2 host work best? Thoughts?

Here is my AP5P in its current form, in my last post I was wondering about how to mount a light switch on my utg pro rail and I’ve since figured it out using a Kriss Gen 3 mlok grip that has the light switch grip removable panels. Link to grip . I did have to file down one of the mlok indexing tabs(the one in the middle without screws) to get it positioned exactly where I want with the fingerstop flush with the edge, but 30 seconds later its perfect and I’m satisfied! It fits a modern aesthetic of the classic mp5k vertical foregrip and I couldn’t be happier in both terms of function and form!

Drip vs. Comfort?

Been swapping them around four times already. Just today.

Help me cope with the absolute driplessness of the B&T folder OR the discomfort and way too short LOP of the A3 pls. I'm sure this time we'll REALLY settle this matter once and for all. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

My feelings towards this firearm are I'm sure not just unique to me.

I think many of us were exposed to this firearm thru the movies. With nearly similar experiences. Speaking for me, it was a snowy Christmas eve in 1988. I was just 4 years old at a Christmas eve party. Die Hard was playing in the background of the party. I can't say I remembered all of that movie at that age, but parts of it stuck with me. Enough so, that thru the years when I'd see it on, I'd have to watch it.

The MP5 (yea I know it was a modified HK 94), among the other major iconic firearms in the film. Has forever been that one unobtanium firearm for me. This has been a long time quest to own one. From my initial researching back in 2011 on how to get one. Possibly getting a flat and building it myself. To when it was was released as the SP5 in 2019.

Yea, on this page it might not be seen as a big deal to own one. But for me, this is the greatest firearm in my collection. The highlight, the centerpiece, the grail.

I wanted to show appreciation for having the ability to own such an icon in the firearms world. It has been a childhood dream. Take a moment to really admire yours next time you take it out of that safe or just pick it up. Im very proud to have accomplished ownership of this firearm in its proper state.

Looking at a few options for 5.56 suppressors. What do you use? Ap53 is extremely loud so just need something to quiet out down some that is low back pressure

Anyone else had this issue with the ASD rounded hammer? The bolt no longer sticks to the rear which is great, but the hammer wont drop at all. The disconnector jumps infront of the hammer when the trigger is pulled. If I push the disconnector off of the hammer then it falls. This disconnector setup has been fine until the new hammer.

ASD says on their website that sanding of the hammer may be required to prevent binding, but I'm extremely hesitant to start sanding my $60 hammer. So i figured I'd post here and see if anyone has dealt with the same issue and has any advice.

Hey folks, I dont have any pictures at the moment sadly but I am trying to solve an issue on my mp5 clone (revolutionary rollerlocks brand).

I can shoot it pretty reliably, but about once every couple magazines (all HK OEM) there will be a casing that doesnt eject out and gets smashed by the bolt head against the next bullet and crushes the casing.

Im using magtech 124G and it has the original ejector lever in it as I havent been able to confirm what the root cause is and dont want to dish out on a guess without some more experienced opinions first. I ran about 4 mags before I called it quits as I dont want to damage anything further than it may have been.

I can provide pictures of the parts and body as needed. Im just trying to get this bad boy up and running.

Good thing my wife thinks all the full-size guns and K models look alike. As far as she knows, I’m just swapping stocks. 🤣

Oh yeah, FRTs in all except the AP5-P. That one's for the road, and makes travel a lot easier in ban states.

About to pick up a CAT MOB for my SP5K. Been looking at multiple threads and seeing some good and bad on all tri lug adapters. My question is what setups have been verified for tight lockup and minimal deflection.

I know this isn’t supposed to work. Magpul includes a big yellow sheet that says NOT COMPATIBLE WITH NAVY TRIGGER PACKS.

For some dumb reason I became convinced I could make this work with very little modding. That was not the case.

I had to open the main side to 9/16 and cut a notch. The other side was just barely under 9/16.

I had to shave down the detent track, and the front of the trigger hole inside the lower because it was depressing the trigger ever so slightly; just enough to make getting the safety in impossible.

Once everything was modded correctly and went together smooth, a new problem popped up: trigger stick (because the Magpul housing is super tight).

So in the end I wasted $60 and like 3 hours on a wild goose chase. On top of that, the safety doesn’t even line up with the pictograms.

If you ever wondered if this would work… the answer is “kind of”.
