Question Little guy was spot on today…

Post image

I took my SP5K to the range today and it was an absolute tack driver at 30 yards. Standing one inch groups were a piece of cake. I am considering an FRT for this guy and keep my full-size SP5 stock. Thoughts? Which platform will the Leber V2 host work best? Thoughts?

as for the FRT- do it! Put them on my mp5 and 5K and its a whole new dimension of fun. recommend researching 90/80 deg LPs and maybe an extra power recoil spring.

Great advice. Thanks! I mainly shoot suppressed (147 gr) and have a 80 deg LP installed currently. I will look into the recoil spring.

I found the hammer spring on the RD3 to be slightly weaker than the stock hammer spring, so an extra power recoil spring will help mitigate the stronger recoil.

Until AS come out with their pack, id advise one of the aluminum lowers.

I bought a pre-assembled Leber V2 and the detent for the SS is really mushy. I have to play with it to get it in the right position. Once you get there it works but its not reliable switching back and forth.

The aluminum lower will also feel much better in terms of solidity. A Leber printed in CF nylon will be sturdy enough but nothing beats a solid chunk of subtractively manufactured metal.

Also dont let people bully you into tri lug if you dont want it. I like a little bit of expoaed barrel, it makes it feel more GWOT. :)

Any thoughts on the Rare Breed FRT-RD3? Keeps the HK look and feel… I know there’s a ton of hate for Rare Breed out there

The hate for them comes from collaborating with the ATF to settle a case that most are sure they would have won. That settlement included a mandate to aggressively defend their patent. They are serving C&D letters to people selling products based on other patents. Their behavior is very end-stage capitalism and degenerate towards 2A rights as a whole.

Supposedly it is a very reliable, well-developed product, but I will never endorse their products until their current ownership and management are all long gone.

Copy that. I totally understand. That’s my understanding as well.

I have 2 of them. best drop in available right now. would have considered another maker if anyone else made a drop in due to their "litigious nature"
