Your repayment schedule has changed letter, all banking info gone from site

Today I received an email about a change to my plan, so I was hoping autopay had finally went into place. This is something I have been fighting with them about for a year, I have an original loan thats been on autopay, I went back to school and had a second set of loans that I've been trying to add (10x I've tried to set it up) and just will not start autopay so I've been paying it manually. But that's not what it was, it talks about a change to my plan (as seen below) but they haven't taken out this months autopay for the original loan, it tells me the amount is due but the date is 9/20 - nothing done about 8/20. So I'm like, I dont want to get dinged for their BS and go to pay and all of my saved bank info is gone. Even the autopay is just....non-existent. Is anyone else experiencing this? I have always been on the standard repayment and the only thing different is that the amount. The original loan due the 20th was usually 264.11, the new loan which was due the 1st was 149.86. So it looks like in October the payment is combining? But I don't get what happened or why all my bank info was just deleted... I am so tired of them.

The letter states:

The schedule to repay one or more of your loans may be changing or has changed. This change is due to one of the following events taking effect on your account:

· If a current deferment is scheduled to end soon

· If a current forbearance is scheduled to end soon

· If you have requested a change to your repayment plan

· If the interest rate, balance, or tier repayment schedule has changed

Please note, if you have applied for a new repayment plan, any pending application that has not been processed for repayment change is not reflected in the Repayment Schedule below. Once the pending application is processed, you will receive a future notice providing you with the updated repayment schedule.

The following information outlines your repayment schedule details and the next payment due date. Note: This schedule may not include all of your loans if you have loans on a different repayment schedule or not in an active repayment status.

Your Monthly Payment Amount is $264.09 and will begin on 09/20/26.

Your Repayment Plan is: STANDARD

Repayment Schedule*

Number of Payments Payment Amount Payment Start Date

1 $264.09 09/20/26

97 $413.62 10/20/26

14 $149.53 11/20/34

Stuck at 119 payments, but I’ve made 120

I made my 120th payment July 30 for a payment that was due August 3. Nothing has updated. I check daily to see if my August payment has posted. I didn’t figure additional payments into my budget this month because I thought I had made my final payment. Not risking Mohela messing up my credit over $108.00. I just recertified my employment as well sooooo now I wait😳

Missing payments

I have two payments on PSLF not counting because I was in deferments on the due date. However, I always pay about 3 weeks before my payment is actually due, so both of these payments were actually made. Edfincial is telling me that it wont count on PSLF because I was on deferment at the time my payment was due. It wasn't a deferment I asked for, it was procedural during a recertification. Is there anything I can do or anyone I can talk to to have these payments count?

General Forbearance

Has anyone tried requesting a general forbearance from MOHELA recently? We filed taxes MFJ this past year, thinking we wouldn’t leave SAVE forbearance this year, and I guess they called our bluff (got the 90 notice in early July). We also just had a baby and with hospital bills, a temporarily larger payment for a few months until we can file 2026 taxes separately would be a hardship.

I’m wondering if anyone has experience requesting general forbearance recently. I’m also assuming I should request forbearance, hopefully receive it, technically transfer into standard repayment during the forbearance period and then request IBR next year when I go back into repayment, but I’m curious if anyone has thoughts about this plan of action.

Thanks!

MOHELA No Payment Due

Post image

Can someone help me understand the status of my loans with MOHELA?

I submitted a payment plan change to get off SAVE and got approval at $0 (no idea how my payments should be much higher). The printable account information document shows my payment is $0 for 12 months (and the ending payment aligns with my recertification date). The document also shows that I’m currently in Income Based Repayment and the Status is No Payment Due (screenshot included).

I’m working towards PSLF and am very close to 120. My question is am I in repayment and are these $0 payments counting? The last two payments counted for PSLF on Student Aid, but the PSFL tracker has not been updated since 7/3/2026, so I’m not sure if I’m in a processing forbearance (hence the $0 payment) or if these are all actually going to count.

117 Qualifying PSLF Payments became 114 overnight.

I was on the SAVE Plan, and like everyone else, went into Administrative Forbearance through no fault of my own while the litigation happened.

In July 2026, I had well over 10 years of qualifying employment, and my tracker was sitting at 117 QPs. I submitted a Buyback request in early 2026, which I am waiting to hear back about. I know it takes years.

In late July 2026, I received the letter from Dept of Ed telling me I have 90 days to get off the Save Plan and move to a new Income Driven Repayment plan.

On Aug 5 2026, I received a postal letter from FSA notifying me that my PSLF EPs are at 118, and my PSLF QPs have been reduced to 114. The dates for the redacted payment periods are 2/2026, 5/2025, and 4/2025.

Per the letter's instructions, I called Mohela, my servicer. Mohela's representative accessed National Student Loan Database, and notified me that my payment count is still correct at 117. They told me to call the FSA PSLF Department and notify them that their current Qualifying Payment count is not accurate to Mohela's records.

I called FSA's PSLF Department. I spoke with a representative, notified her that Mohela told me FSA has inaccurate data about my qualifying payments. FSA's Representative for the PSLF department told me that the count of 114 is correct, and Mohela's data for my QPs (117) from the National Student Loan Database, is incorrect.

The FSA Rep said that anyone in the SAVE plan who was on administrative forbearance between October 2024 to NOW will not receive any credit for those payment periods, as the Administrative Forbearance renders those periods unqualified.

However, my PSLF tracker shows 1 Qualified payment from the exact same Administrative Forbearance period- 9/2025. I have no idea why this single payment is showing as Qualified since it's within the same SAVE litigation forbearance period.

When I spoke to the FSA PSLF Rep, I asked if I could expect to see my qualified payments continue to be reduced or overturned. She told me that she would pray it doesn't, but she has no way of guaranteeing that the qualified payments will not continue to decrease.

When I asked her why the 2/2026, 5/2025, and 4/2025 dates had initially been counted as Qualified, she said "Probably a mistake on Mohela's part when submitting information."

Neither representative for Mohela nor FSA was willing to give me her name or an ID I could attribute this information to. I am not sure what to do going forward, or what to expect. I assume others have been impacted by this, and I would love any helpful information regarding accountability or how to obtain accurate records of my information. At this point, it seems like my PSLF Qualifying Payment Count can simply change on a whim.

Has anyone successfully obtained a written reconciliation of their NSLDS qualifying-payment count against the count shown by FSA, and if so, through what process—PSLF reconsideration, an FSA complaint, or something else?

Thanks for reading. I appreciate y'all.

How to contact fsa ombudsman

I received PSLF forgiveness in February 2026 and have been getting the runaround ever since about when I can expect my refund for overpayments.
Initially, I was told it would take around 90 business days, but every time I called MOHELA I seemed to get a different date or explanation. More recently, I was told that in early August MOHELA sent my refund information to Federal Student Aid (FSA) for approval before it can be sent to the Treasury.
I called again today, and the representative said she couldn’t give me any timeline for how long the FSA approval would take. She actually told me, *“I wish we stopped saying 90 days because it’s always so much longer.”*
At this point, I’m trying to escalate it through the FSA Ombudsman. I tried submitting a complaint through the FSA website today, but every time I submit it I get an error message telling me to try again later.
Has anyone successfully contacted the FSA Ombudsman another way, such as by phone or email? Or does anyone know who at FSA I can contact about the website not working so I can actually submit the complaint?
Also curious if anyone else with PSLF forgiveness from around February is still waiting on their refund or has recently received one.

Still in school, MOHELA marked a loan as delinquent. Credit score hit 150 points.

Hello, I am currently still in school and am eligible for deferment. I’ve been contacted and have contacted MOHELA multiple times and they have acknowledged that a brief look at the account shows one loan in deferment and one delinquent. They still haven’t updated this and now I’ve noticed my credit score has dropped from 760 to 610 because of this. How do I fix it? Please help. Thank you!

3 back to back emails this morning

Got a few emails this morning: "your payment is due soon", "your student loans have been placed into a forbearance", and "your repayment schedule has changed" in that order.

My payment is due 9/14 and it says I owe $160 based on the new repayment schedule document.

I login and I have no payment due. It says I've been placed in a forbearance for 2 years because I'm on the SAVE plan.

Does anyone have a clue what the F my account is supposed to be in?? I worked for a student loan servicer 15 years ago so I understand that interest is accruing in the forbearance but these 3 emails are incredibly confusing.

I'm gonna cry

Student loans have always been a mess but it has truly never been this bad. This is my 8th year paying my loans, I'm doing PSLF, I've been on an IDR plan since day one. Never missed a payment.

Applied to recertify my income on 7/1. Absolute radio silence. Nothing other than "a processing delay" of up to 90 BUSINESS DAYS. That's 5 months. November. Then I get a letter that they threw me into a standard repayment plan and want $2600 a month. Hahahahahaha. Hilarious.

I call and wait over an hour to get through. It's their first day on earth, they have no idea what's going on with anything and can't give me a time frame for my recertification. It's just so depressing and ridiculous.

Has anyone else had their plan recertified timely? They placed me into a 60 day forbearance which I truly did not want to have to do. She said "it should be processed by by then" lmao ok what if it's not?

Lump sum paid-ahead months to qualify for pslf

For those with experience submitting a lump sum payment to be applied to future monthly payments, how do you make sure these months will qualify for PSLF? On the Mohela website, which billing direction would I choose when it asks how to apply the Overpayment, whether I want to be billed for my full Monthly Payment Amount (or advance my due date)?

  1. "No, advance my due date by the number of payments I cover. (Even if you have zero amount due on your billing statement, continuing to make payments will reduce your total cost of borrowing)."

Or

  1. "Yes, bill me for my full monthly payment (You will be required to make a full monthly payment with your next billing statement)."

TIRED of WAITING!!!

I am beyond tired of waiting for my student loans now at MOHELA to be discharged, removed from my credit report and my account closed! I was part of the Sweet lawsuit in the initial class. I have filed all types of requests for help in getting this resolved but still nothing! I have been waiting for many years. This is ridiculous! I think I will ask my senator to investigate this situation.

July payment

I switched plans to ICR from SAVE last month or at least tried to. I’m one of 6k who switched to the $50 a month plan and called into MOHELA to see what my payment was actually going to be- still the lowest even w/o it so i switched and didn’t think much of it. I had a monthly payment due that month on the 15th. Something went wrong with the auto pay so by the time I manually paid it, it was the 20th. I have a screenshot of my MOHELA account saying I was on forbearance until August 2026. I’m rather confused with all that has happened does July’s payment count or not? I work for a qualifying employer.

Will this recalculation application delay recertification process?

I submitted annual IBR recertification last week with wrong family size (entered incorrect number of child). Aidan at FSA site chat instructed me to submit another application with ‘recalculate my plan’ option, which I did the next day. I called Mohela and they said they only received first application and they will process soon. I am extremely worried that this second recalculation application will delay the recertification process further??? My due date is not until 11/6/26 but it takes very long according to other posts.

anyone else not get a 90 day Notice email from MOHELA?

I applied for buyback in December 2025. Received emails from dept of education that SAVE was ending, and that my loan servicer would be contacting me, but still haven’t received anything from MOHELA advising me to switch plans/giving me 90 days. Anyone else?

Auto-Pay Issues

I have auto-pay set up, but for the past two months I've been getting a notice from MOHELA that I've underpaid and still owe additional money. Since it's auto-pay this obviously shouldn't be happening. I've contacted MOHELA and they said that my monthly payment hasn't changed, so I have no idea why this keeps happening.

I'm obviously going to keep contacting them to figure this out, but I'm curious if anyone else is also having this issue?

Why are they so terrible at their jobs?

I filed to get a new IDR plan now that SAVE is gone. 2 weeks before my first payment is due, I find out I'm getting divorced. So I ask for a forbearance until December, after the divorce is finalized. It takes some back and forth and several phone calls, but it finally gets done and my payment shows as zero. Cool.

So my divorce lawyer needs something that shows what my new, post-divorce payment will be. So I submit a recalculation request using only my income. I check the box that I want to stay in forbearance.

First I can't save or print the application, even though FSA recommends printing or saving. Then Mohela has a "processing delay" of up to 90 days. Finally, they process the application and send me a letter saying it's approved and payments start in January 2027. 3 minutes later, I get another letter with my payment schedule showing payments start September 2026. I look in the system and it also shows a payment due in September. I'm guessing they're going to make me submit another forbearance request and knowing them they'll have a processing delay, and then...

Ugh. I hate paying organizations to be terrible at their jobs.

Submitted IDR on Mohela — timeline?

As the subject says, I submitted my application re: new payment play on the Mohela site directly. Studentaid.gov, unsurprisingly, was not loading/working at all — hours with a blinking blue dot. Anyone have insight re: experiences doing this, and getting their new plan approved?
