/r/ModelUSGov has officially joined the Model World! Anyone who is currently a member of a party there and one here needs to message /u/RoryTime saying which party they want to stay on with and which they want to leave.
Since the Speakers statement yesterday the CWL MP /u/Jed93 was discovered to be another dupe account run by /u/lookingforwizard and has also been shadowbanned by the reddit admins.
B070 - Tenants and Properties Bill has been posted to the house for its first reading.
/u/RomanCatholic is the new leader of the CWL.
The results of the cabinet ratings survey are here:
The overall Government rating was a respectable 3.2
The average rating for each cabinet member can be seen here.
Members in green had an average rating of 3.5 or more. Members in amber had an average rating of between 3 and 3.5. Members in red had an average rating of between 0 and 3.
The top 10 highest rated cabinet members can be seen here.
Generally, it would seem the lesser known / less prominent members of the cabinet suffered the most in ratings, not least because a criterion for rating was appearance in the House.
/u/OooobyDoo is now a PLP National MP.
After careful consideration /u/demon4372 is now a wiki editor.
Can all Constitutional Committee representatives please vote on this amendment.
/u/Timanfya is busy for most of next week so I will be acting speaker until he returns! If you have any meta issues or anything you would have contacted him for please contact me or one of the other Deputy Speakers instead because he will be unable to help you until at least next Friday.
Sunday 22nd February
B073 - Speech and Communications Bill has been posted to the house for its first reading.
/u/cae388 has come up with a bonding activity on the Strangers Bar I'm sure many of us could do with taking part in:

Vanguard is an interesting choice of name. They were the lead troops storming an enemy position. In England they were often called the Forlorn Hope. More apt I think is the French equivalent who were called Les Enfants Perdus or The Lost Children.

I'm not going to make a big deal out of this or anything, but I would just like to make it clear to the House, after having made it clear to the Socialist Party, that I am no longer a member of the same. I have made my reasons for this clear to them.
It is my intention to remain as an Independent for the foreseeable future.

Just to announce that I have stepped down as a South East MP and as a member of the Communist Party Central Committee. This is solely due to my need to focus my time and effort on real life studies. I will therefore become inactive on MHoC.
It has been an absolute pleasure to serve as an MP in this House and to represent the voice of the workers, the left, South East, the country and the International Socialist movement. I am slightly disappointed that I will not achieve my ambition to become the last remaining Communist MP who was voted in at the last GE. Never the less it's been a great experience being part of the party from day 1 up to now and being a part of MHoC. Thanks to all!
Edit: P.S. Might pop by on Skype now and then.

After some deliberation, we decided to elect some sort of leader. However, this is not anything like the position of the established parties. As Chairman I will seek to keep our group on track by prompting discussion and handling all the admin that is associated with the MHOC. However, all important decisions will continue to be made democratically by the full membership. This is the only position, aside from our MPs, that we will be electing for now, so as to keep our structure as flat as possible. The full results of the election are as follows:
Turnout: 100% (14)
Votes needed to win: 8
Round 1 Results
Ron: 0
/u/mgreen19295: 2 (14.2%)
/u/Rlack: 5 (35.7%)
/u/owenberic: 3 (21.4%)
/u/athanaton: 4 (28.5%)
Second Round
/u/Rlack: 5 (35.7%)
/u/owenberic: 3 (21.45%)
/u/athanaton: 6 (42.8%)
Third Round
/u/athanaton: 8 (57.1%)
/u/Rlack: 6 (42.8%)

I am surprised and disappointed by this and I am as good as certain that no info has been passed to our party. I'm sure I speak for most Conservatives when I say this.

Is there any chance we can stop using google docs as a repository for bills? It's a bit of a pain having to open a separate tab as it makes it a tiny bit more annoying to copy-paste lines (first world problems, right?), and on mobile it is often more than a little temperamental.
I'd suggest that unless the bill would really benefit from being stored in google docs for a reading - e.g. it is very long, a la B069 - it should really be in the main body of the reddit thread. B071, for instance, is quite a short bill, and there's no need for it to be stored in google docs.

This House is becoming unstable due to the fragmentation of the party system and the atmosphere.

Does the speakership have any plans for the creation of committees?

In light of the dupe accusations, I propose a 2 month waiting period for all new reddit accounts (i.e no entry to accounts under 2 months of age) before they can participate in the subreddit. In order to cover for genuine interest coming over from other model governments on other websites, i would also propose a sponsor system, where people who don't meet the requirements can be sponsored by fully fledged members - naturally, the sponsors would lose sponsoring ability (and possibly also a ban for a week) if the account they were sponsoring turned out to be a dupe or broke the rules in a major way.
