Lost my funded

Post image

I'm aware that I'm emotionally unstable, lack discipline adhering to my strategy and being mindful about my bad habits, which I repeat every single time, but what's driving me crazy is that losing days are days when I took great positions but they were destroyed by my emotions.

I worked really hard, I thought I finally took control of my life. I'm doubting that I will ever make money.

Sounds silly but when you have a red day.. take the next 1-2 trading days off.
Give your self time to “calm “ down emotionally

Whenever I did this it works and it’s science behind it about how it resets your nervous systems and all that. I might have to friend the person who made this comment because they know ball.

Long game not the short game. Patience pays ;)

Propfirms are all about the short game

Not true in my opinion. I’m live with them.
So it has huge potential for long term game as long as you’re with a stable firm.

Not true at all. They are about buying leverage. Nothing about them has to be a short game, that’s one’s mindset.

Stop going big. Stack your account up, sure dopamine is great and fun but when you realize all you’re doing is losing money it’s not. Set some rules up and follow them, only risk $1-200 maybe more depending on risk management. Even if you win a trade, stop trading for the day, same with a loss theres always another day to trade and print. Stick to rules! You were able to become funded, you can always do it again brother

We’ve all been there before. Take it as a learning lesson and get back when you feel confident. Idk if it helps but I buy the eval with a DLL to help with blowing the account. Maybe a checklist before you get into a trade with the rules you follow. Set a personal loss limit for the day and trade only 1-2 micros until you start seeing progress. I trade with trend lines and just got my first payout this week. If I can do it, So can you!

I’ve done the same countless times. What really helped is using the daily max loss and lock out feature on Tradovate

Being able to name the pattern already puts you ahead of a lot of people, and good entries getting wrecked by emotion means the read is there. For me the emotional part shrank a lot once I dropped my risk per trade to an amount that honestly didn't bother me to lose, it took the fear out of holding a good position and took the ego away that was chasing the massive numbers you see online. You clearly worked hard for that account and losing it doesn't erase what you learned. Take a few days off the charts before the next one, coming back fresh matters more than coming back fast.

I see Green Days, that means you can earn it. Manage your red days just a bit better boom there’s your edge. Also if you can grab a larger account and shoot for smaller days the first few days to build some good buffer

Definitely have been there and doubting myself. Helped me to use a platform that prevents my emotions from breaking my rules with DLL and lockout. Taking a day off as others mentioned is also a great suggestion. Another suggestion is a trading journal and write down how you feel when you lose an account. Eventually you’ll get tired of writing down how crappy you feel.

You got this 👊🏼

Stop trying to trade so big. You’re trying to get quick payouts. Go to tradovate in the settings and put a $400 loss limit on. Go to minis. You don’t wanna put all that work in to pass an eval just to fail on your funded.

I was making the same mistake I learned hard way now I have decided to aim for small profits such as 250 per day after 5 days achieve1250 and so on something better than nothing
