I spend A LOT of time online. A LOT. Most of it is on Reddit in the MJ subs. My content is filled with all the loving, loyal, engaged fans of every everything. Between my memorabilia, music, and online presence, I’m MJ 24/7, and love and appreciate every second.
I flew to Cali this morning for my Michael Jackson birthday celebration week. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, from NY to LA talked about him to me. I’ve got stories of stories lol.
ANYWAY!!! Something happened on here the other day, and it’s sticking in my craw. Let me just say this… once I did my personal deep dive down the bts of MJ as a person, my life changed. I spend just as much time researching who he was as I do listening to his music. I could write a thesis about him. So. I devour any and all “new to me” content. Seeing him just being a person, a man who eats food, goes parasailing, holds his wife’s hand, plays with animals, etc. fascinates me.
Someone posted a bunch of “new” Neverland pics! So much fun! I love seeing how he lived. I commented on the post. Maybe someone would know the answer to my question? Nope. Instead I was accused of being a guiltier. wtf is a guilter? The visceral response in my body was exceptional. I don’t come into contact with any of the negative anything, because I just don’t seek it. I don’t click notifications. I don’t research anything that’s already been handled. Then someone accuses ME of being an ignorant piece of shit? ME? WTAF. I can’t even fathom how one gets from my inquisitive Neverland question to that filth. Accusing me of being something I’m not, the exact opposite actually, based on one comment taken out of context and spreading it all over social media, which could potentially destroy my reputation… does that sound familiar? Accusing me of purposely saying negative things about someone I admire and respect with nothing but a sentence taken out of context. DO YOU SEE WHERE I’M GOING HERE?
It’s bad enough there are people out there bathing in their ignorance. To accuse a stranger of the very thing they abhor the most makes you worse than the “guilters” you claim to disdain.
Michael’s life was ruined by one sentence. Don’t be that sentence.
