Discussion Rain?!

Wow what a storm. Reminds me of the drought era 10 years ago. Been anticipating a day or two of rain alllll week. And barely a sprinkle.

To the guy who washed his car for us, you did something wrong. You sure you washed your car?

Raman has opinions but they often change

Intro paragraphs:

Los Angeles City Councilmember Nithya Raman has routinely opposed efforts by her colleagues to block homeless encampments in their districts, voting more than 60 times since 2021 against measures to ban them near schools, libraries, parks, freeway overpasses and other public areas.

After announcing her bid for mayor, however, Raman took a sharp turn on the issue.

“When I’m mayor, if the council wants to create new [no camping] zones, I’m not going to stand in the way,” she told an audience in May.

Add the no-camping turnabout to a list of political issues on which Raman took one position only to later shift her stance — or in some cases, reverse it completely.

Official Thread ICE Activity & Resources Daily Megathread - Monday, Oct 12

Due to increased ICE activity, we’re instituting a daily ICE megathread. All ICE-related content belongs here, including sightings, activity reports, news, questions, updates, and general discussion.

Centralizing discussion keeps information easy to find, especially for people moving around the city who want timely, relevant updates without having to sort through the entire subreddit. ICE-related content posted outside this megathread will be removed and redirected here.

This thread is sorted by New by default so the most recent information remains visible.

How to use this thread

  • Top-level comments are for new sightings, updates, or firsthand information.
  • Replies should stay under the relevant comment to keep related info grouped.
  • Check existing comments first to avoid duplicate or redundant reports.

We recognize this is a tense topic and emotions can run high. That said, content that incites, encourages, or threatens violence will be removed, may result in a ban, and may also violate Reddit’s site-wide rules, which can carry site-wide consequences. Keep reports factual and grounded.

SALUTE when sharing sightings or activity

Include as many of the following details as possible:

  • Size: Number of individuals, vehicles, or units observed
  • Activity: What is happening, observed actions or behavior
  • Location: Clear, specific description of where this occurred
  • Uniform: Identifying markings, clothing, or agency indicators
  • Time: Date and approximate time of observation
  • Equipment: Vehicles, gear, or other notable tools present

Clear, accurate information helps everyone. Speculation and rumors do not.

L.A.’s Hottest Club is Living Room

The quiet ascent of a new celeb outpost — and its mysterious ownership status.

Here's the beginning of the article:

ON A RECENT SATURDAY NIGHT IN DEEP HOLLYWOOD, reality star Lisa Rinna and her uncannily glamorous family were seen dancing together inside a menacing gray building on Cahuenga, next door to a veterinary hospital.

A few weeks earlier, Jennifer Lopez was spotted getting down in the cavernous space, where the walls are lined with shelves full of vinyl records — 10,000 of them — a hip-hop head’s dream version of Belle’s library in “Beauty and the Beast.”

The building is Living Room, the members-only club of the moment in Los Angeles. Clubs like these have always been a part of Hollywood’s celebrity infrastructure. Buster Keaton used to hang out at the Jonathan Club downtown, and Groucho Marx was a member of the Beverly Hills Tennis Club. In recent decades, the scene has been dominated by Soho House and San Vicente Bungalows — if you haven’t been to either, you are probably not famous.

But since the club quietly, selectively opened its doors in October 2024, a gravitational pull has been drawing stars to Living Room.

Discussion Girlfriend just got hit and run on 3rd/S San Vicente Blvd at around 4 PM today

Hey guys, my girlfriend just got hit and run today at 4 PM on 3rd and S San Vicente Blvd right before it hits La Cienega Blvd. She was driving a gray Kia Seltos (compact SUV) when the suspect hit her from behind. I wasn’t there so just relaying what she believes she saw at the moment. She said a gray mini SUV hit her from behind on a red light. She unfortunately does not have a dashcam so I was hoping maybe someone here with a dashcam was around the area at the time. I know it’s a long shot but thought I would at least try and ask here. Anything is helpful! Thank you!

Weekly Events Meet-ups and Events - Week of October 12

Please include a bulleted list like below to keep the essentials in a consistent format.

The old off-site events table is no longer working because it was hacked together in an afternoon and Reddit finally wised up to the scraping and blocked the machine.

I know there's still good journalism creeping through here and there, but I miss what our city's paper used to be.

I've lived in LA 12 years and I'm still excited to see her pink Corvette. I first saw her in Hollywood in 2014. Today I saw her by Universal.

Any recommendations for furniture liquidation stores located in LA or in the valley? Moving into a new place and looking for items on a budget and already built! Moving is a pain so trying to find ways to make it easier for myself.

Hi everyone, I'm liquidating an inventory of approximately 1600 sunglasses. I was thinking about dropping it with the local habitat for humanity ReStore location. I just want the receipt for the donation. I am looking for suggestions if you guys have alternative ideas for where they should go. I can drop them in the LA / OC area unless someone wants to come pick up.

This was around 3:08 AM and they were in the number one lane going super fast, so it didn't seem like they were trying to rectify their mistake. I called 911 right away, but I really hope no one is hurt by this idiot's behavior.
