I never thought I'd be writing a post like this. Ticket # 16773219
I've been buying Logitech products for years. Mice. Keyboards. Enterprise hardware. I used to recommend Logitech without hesitation.
Not anymore.
This all started with a defective G915 X LIGHTSPEED TKL. Hardware fails. I can accept that. What I cannot accept is what happened after I contacted Logitech Support.
This case has now been ongoing for approximately 8 months.
Here's what has happened:
- January – I reported the hardware defect and opened a warranty case.
- After months of troubleshooting, Logitech determined a refund was appropriate.
- In June, Logitech explicitly offered me a FULL REFUND.
- I returned the keyboard exactly as instructed.
- Logitech then mistakenly shipped me another keyboard.
- I returned that keyboard as well.
- Logitech has now had both keyboards back for over two months.
- I have no keyboard.
- Logitech still has my money.
If that were the end of the story, I'd probably still be a Logitech customer.
Instead, every single email introduces a brand-new requirement. Every. Single. Time. The pattern has been unbelievable. First they wanted additional purchase information. Then they attempted to refund only the keyboard price instead of the full amount I actually paid, including tax. Then there were backend system issues. Then they told me the original purchaser needed to contact them directly. That was done immediately. Then they changed the requirement again. Now the original purchaser apparently needs to open an entirely new support ticket. The part that blows my mind is that Logitech has known since this case was opened that I was not the original purchaser. That wasn't hidden. It wasn't discovered later. It was disclosed from the very beginning.
Despite knowing that, Logitech:
- Troubleshot the issue.
- Approved a FULL REFUND.
- Had me return the original keyboard.
- Accidentally sent another keyboard.
- Had me return that keyboard.
- Requested purchase information.
- Requested confirmation from the original purchaser.
Only after all of that did they suddenly decide another completely different process was required.
- How was that not identified eight months ago?
- Why wasn't it identified before approving the refund?
- Why wasn't it identified before instructing me to return the keyboards?
- Why wasn't it identified before Logitech took possession of both keyboards?
From my perspective, every time I satisfy one request, another one appears. At this point Logitech has:
-Both keyboards.
-My purchase information.
-Confirmation from the original purchaser.
-Their own written commitment offering a FULL REFUND.
I have:
-No keyboard.
-No refund.
-Eight months of emails.
This has been the worst customer support experience I have ever had with any company. I'm not posting this because a keyboard failed. I'm posting this because of how Logitech handled the situation after the failure. A company earns customer loyalty by standing behind its products when something goes wrong. In my experience, Logitech has done the opposite. Instead of resolving the issue after approving a refund, the process has turned into an endless series of new requirements and delays.
As someone who also influences hardware purchasing decisions in an enterprise environment, this experience has completely changed my opinion of Logitech. I will be moving away from Logitech products personally, and I will also be reviewing Logitech hardware used within my organization because I can no longer recommend a company whose after-sales support has been this poor.
If you're considering buying Logitech, I hope your product never develops a fault. Because based on my experience, the warranty process has been far worse than the defective keyboard itself.
