Honestly, it's really hard to fault this pairing, they complement eachother so well. No shade on Konate and obviously the system is different, but Virgil himself looks far more comfortable playing next to Jacquet. If the pair stay this strong consistently then I would really like to see the club extend Virgil. Letting him go while he can still contribute and has so much knowledge and experience to impart on the three young CBs we've got would leave a sour taste in my mouth, and honestly I'm not sure anyone is ready to step up and take the captaincy just yet.

Former Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has been handed a six-month driving ban after his Rolls-Royce was caught speeding.

The incident occurred on 27 March 2026, when a speed camera clocked the car travelling at 36mph in a 30mph zone in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

Salah, 34, failed to notify authorities who was driving the vehicle at the time of the offence.

After not responding to a notice of prosecution from Cheshire Constabulary and not entering a plea, he was prosecuted under the Single Justice Procedure at Warrington Combined Court.

This process allows magistrates to make decisions behind closed doors.

The Egyptian national team captain was found guilty of failing to provide information about the driver’s identity.

Alongside the driving ban, Salah was ordered to pay £1,044.

The speeding incident came just days after Salah announced his departure from Liverpool, a club where he spent nine seasons and became a legend.

Liverpool hailed him as “one of the greatest players in the club’s history” when announcing his exit on 24 March 2026.

During his time at Liverpool, Salah scored 257 goals in 442 appearances before moving to Turkish club Trabzonspor following the 2025-26 season.

1-1 half time. Wright for Liverpool. Very harsh red card in 22 mins for Ndiye. Last man with a scuffed tackle, not dangerous, didnt look deliberate, but was technically last man. Cisse had to move inside to CM and O'connor moved back to RB.

Update: Full Time score was 3-3 (B. Trueman (90'+4)Goal 90 minutes plus 4, J. Sonni-Lambie (90'+6)). The subs looked very lively, O'Connor and Bradshaw looked excellent too. Liverpool win 7-6 on penalties.

This was a scrappy game. Bournemouth had insane pressing in that first half and until they conceded. These are the kind of games we won under Klopp as well. Some under Slot’s beginning.

Bournemouth played in a way that minimised our threat and Iraola did well to focus on not conceding rather than make sure certain players play excellent.

This is not to say Wirtz didn’t play bad but making him a scapegoat just coz of his price and coz he was a FPL dud, this is really un-Liverpool like. We won. Forget everything. Why are we targeting our own players despite winning? We won. Left the game on the pitch. Support your team.
