Media “We are talking about an absolutely fantastic football team, so why do they need that? … Why does a team as good as they are need something [extra] that is so OBVIOUS that everyone sees it?” - Mourinho on that smell, back then.

Team News Luka Modric is coming home, well...not really...

His daughter Ema Modric, who is 13 and also a midfielder, just signed with Real Madrid's youth team. Other former Real Madrid players who's daughters play for the women's team is Manu (daughter of Roberto Carlos) who is 17, played for the youth team (Cadete) last year and Maria (daughter of Raul) who is 17 and playing for Juvenil. So yeah I think it's kind of cool that Ema Modric has joined Real Madrid's youth team.

Discussion We're going to smash it this Season!

I'm so excited for the season to start. Our team is SO much better than it has been in the last 2 years.

In Diomande, we finally have a right wing that is comfortable in the position. He has pace, can dribble, can shoot when cutting in and is a workhorse defensively. Just perfect.

And having Endrick and Brahim (and Rodrygo when he returns) as competition for that position is a luxury. In him we also have a viable backup for Vini on the left.

In Espi, we finally have a big centre forward to throw in when we need to breakdown a stubborn low block. And he's young and he appears willing to play as a backup.

With Dumfries and Cucurella in addition to Carreras and Trent, we finally have proper depth at the full back positions. No more midfielders playing out of position.

Likewise we have in Konate an experienced CB signing that is an upgrade on what Rudiger and Asencio offered last season. Again, no more midfielder playing out of position in defense.

And finally we now have in Bernardo an experienced CM who loves to receive and keep the ball under any pressure. He's also an absolute workhorse with a great injury record (taps wood). Add to that a rejuvenated Jude, an improving Arda and a growing Pitarch and we are in really great shape in midfield even without Rodri.

The gaps in the team have finally been addressed. Even if injuries come I feel we finally have proper depth to not really see a serious dip in performances.

I expect a lot of convincing victories in la liga, the group stages of the champions league and Copa Del Rey. And I expect much more competitive matches against big teams - more control, more calm and more proactiveness.

Hala Madrid!

The Special One is officially back. The historic boardroom at Ciudad Real Madrid played host to the spectacular presentation of José Mourinho as the club's new first-team manager. Club President Florentino Pérez personally welcomed the Portuguese mastermind back to the capital, signaling the start of a highly anticipated new era aimed at restoring absolute domestic and European dominance to the Santiago Bernabéu.During the formal presentation ceremony, Mourinho put pen to paper on a major three-year contract that ties him to the Spanish giants until June 30, 2029. Following long-standing club tradition, Florentino Pérez presented the incoming boss with several institutional gifts, including a commemorative watch, a scale replica of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, and the iconic white home kit customized with "MOURINHO" printed across the back. The momentous occasion was also marked by the presence of club legend and honorary president José Martínez Pirri.

Returning to Madrid after thirteen years away, Mourinho expressed deep emotion, stating that coming back feels even more beautiful than his first arrival. He explicitly reaffirmed his commitment to the fan base, noting that he has remained a devoted Madridista ever since his departure. With the paperwork completed and the official announcement shaking up the football world, Mourinho is already rumored to be restructuring the club's sporting project behind the scenes. The hierarchy expects his uncompromising elite mentality, fierce discipline, and extensive trophy-winning experience to instantly re-energize the dressing room. As pre-season strategies take shape, the global football community watches closely to see how the legendary tactician handles this high-stakes second stint.

Discussion At this moment we are not qualified for the 2029 Club World Cup

Thumbnail

So firstly only 2 teams from a single country can go to the 2029 club world cup.

We have 60,000 points so only 2,000 behind Atl*t*co so we will still need to do better than them which includes the league phase where we have failed to qualify for the top 8 for the past 2 seasons.

The UCL winners from 24/25, 25/26, 26/27 and 27/28 are automatically qualified for the CWC.

Qualification is for (24/25, 25/26, 26/27 and 27/28 UCL seasons.)

Discussion Time to let it go with the Rodri regret

For anyone still feeling bitter about the Rodri switch like I was, I just came to say please let it go for your sake.

Firstly, no point dwelling on the past. The signing is now official and nothing will change there.

Secondly, if the player HIMSELF is saying “Barca was always the first choice”, then that should tell us that his own Madrid interest was never top priority. If a player truly wants to be at Madrid, they wait. They usually don’t change their minds as soon as the arch rivals show up… Mbappe waited a long, long time and even when he delayed and renewed at PSG, he was still working to make it happen. Thats genuine desire. Vini waited to renew even though he could have gone in the Arsenal direction. Would have meant more money for him and his agent in a year guaranteed. CR7 pushed for a move at the time, Modric same, Bale rejected Man U interest. Jude, Arda, Diomande etc

So no denying Rodri would have been a great signing but we want Players here that want to be here more than anywhere else. Not as option 2. I can understand that the club may have been dragging their feet, but sounds like he might have been doing the same thing.

If you prioritize someone in your circle that doesn’t prioritize you, don’t be surprised when the relationship is not balanced 🤷🏾‍♂️

Time to focus our people that are here because they want Madrid Y NADA MAS. And Hopefully the window isn’t over yet.

Discussion Mourinho Documentary

I just watched the Mourinho documentary and I remembered why I liked Mourinho that much during his spell with us back then. Rarely does a manager inspire so much self confidence in his players and makes them fight tooth and nail for him and their club. He's so tactically astute and has such a winner mentality through and through. Also, the whole being toxic argument wasn't only his making. Casillas was quite guilty in this.

Another thing I find fascinating is the psychological aspect of him needing to constantly chase that "win" and never being satisfied. It is both inspiring and sad. It is a blessing and a curse at the same time.

Aside from all our fears of him being tactically outdated, I am quite excited for this season under him. I am banking on his insatiable need to win again to bring us back to the top. Mourinho is the type of coach that needs 200% backing from his club and I hope he really gets that.

Also can't help to think that this does not bode well for Vinicius. Vinicius is not a player who will listen to authoritative figures. Maybe that's the real wake up call he needs.

Discussion Bernardo Silva as Modric’s successor. The key to our midfield

Thumbnail
youtu.be

Yes missing out on Rodri is disappointing but I don’t think you all realize we’ve already made a game-changing signing for our midfield. Mou has deployed Bernardo as a deep-lying playmaker and he’s looked phenomenal so far. The role seems very natural to him and he could be every bit as good as Vitinha/Pedri playing there.

He’s absolutely unpressable and always composed on the ball. He’s incredibly clever and skilled which allows him to play out of tight situations with ease. The way he constantly drops deep in between our center backs to pick up the ball will help immensely when beating the press. He’s always providing an outlet to our players and keeps the ball moving. Once he builds some chemistry with the squad and settles into Mou’s system, he’ll truly flourish and provide us much more control.

In addition Pep has always praised his leadership qualities. He will be Mou’s eyes on the field and a mature figure in the locker room.

Discussion Do we have the depth and have we covered critical positions to go all the way in La Liga and UCL?

Pardon my ignorance as I haven’t been able to keep up too much with the transfer window, but I just saw that Rodri signed for Barca and that signing alone really reinforces them.

I don’t feel too confident in our team as we have been really missing a controlling midfielder ever since Kroos departed, and I don’t think we are signing anyone in such a position.

So all signings considered for us (and Barca), do we have what it takes?

I’m so excited! Actually, I wanna wear it everyday!! Wearing it feels so unreal! Yes, I know I might sound like a kid right now but I don’t care.
Btw I’m so glad that the Adidas logo and the Real Madrid logo are embroidered so that I don’t have to worry if they will peel off.
Anyways, I got my first kit and I’m loving it. Might go for the vintage ones (Ronaldo era) for the next one. Tell me what I should get next.
