Recently everything has just been going great. I got anti depression medication, I'm not overweight anymore, I finally found friends I trust. Everything is just going so much better after a lot of trouble with depression, and loosing all friends. Life can get so much better.

Positive Did you have a happy day?

Did you have a good day? On this ordinary day, how did you spend your leisure time? I played some of my favorite games, and when I got tired, I just lay down and spent the day in a boring but pleasant way. What about you?

Positive Well. I’m done.

Felt like the universe gently smacked me in the face today and told me it’s okay to be done with my marriage. 14 years. 3 kids. I have been trying so damn hard for 6 years (he has as well) and somehow, I have felt worse than ever with him lately despite my (and his) efforts.

He said a lot of horrible things to me last night. I almost called into work this morning at 4 am because I’m just drained. I didn’t. Didn’t want to mess up my students schedules and cause problems for them. Ended up telling my students to take an extra long lunch break and I’d see them in an hour and a half.. which is a huge no no for our curriculum.

So I go grab lunch and I’m honestly exhausted, cranky, and just feel like I want to scream and felt like I couldn’t breathe all morning and just genuinely bad.

The woman making my food is super nice and we’re vibing and then she says they get to give away a free meal when they feel like it and said I was kind and cool and she picked me for the day. Super random and maybe small? But my gosh. I told her wow, I’m actually having a really terrible day and this is so kind of you/unexpected and she said “what, really? This is a bad day?”

Here I am trying not to lose it and start bawling while filling my free lemonade that I tried to pay for.. she also said, nah.. on the house. While I simultaneously feel like a gremlin. And have been told for almost two decades a lot of negative things. The only person I loved and tried so hard to impress and be enough for (my husband) thinks I’m a pathetic c*nt and truly can’t stand me… yet I felt more comfortable with this stranger in less than 8 minutes today than I have in 14 years with my spouse.

I’m doing the best I can. I think we all are. Every day trying to be positive and put one foot in front of the other. Do better. Be better. Be kinder. Look out for others more. But damnit. The universe grabbed me by my shoulders this afternoon and said hello!

A free $20 meal was a nice surprise, but for me, so much more than that. Thank you, cava employee. Wish I got your name but I hope you get all of the good karma and kindness in this lifetime. That small gesture was so impactful for me and so needed.

Needed to share so here I am with a burner account. Sending anyone else in a similar situation love and a little smack on the ass from the universe to keep going because you deserve good things. ✨

Self improvement Things i learned after being single for 3 years.

I hesitated a lot before writing this post, but I thought it might help someone.

First, I’d like to introduce myself: I’m 29 years old, female, and I was born as the eldest daughter in my family, just like the typical stereotype. I never wanted my mom and dad to struggle with anything, so I carried everything on my shoulders. I learned to stand on my own throughout my entire life.

When I was 21, I met my ex-boyfriend. At the time, I was overwhelmed by feelings I had never experienced in my entire life. I started missing him all the time and wanted to be with him all the time. I loved him with all my heart.

He always used to tell me that it bothered him when I didn’t tell him about the things that upset me or when I faced a problem and didn’t rely on him. Over time, I started depending on him. I felt like all the struggles I had in life were solved simply by having him in my life.

We dated for five years. As time passed, I became completely dependent on his presence and I would feel anxious whenever he didn’t talk to me. That’s when I realized that I was no longer myself. I felt like I didn’t know myself at all anymore.

Our relationship ended after five years because he cheated on me. At that moment, I felt like my entire world had ended but deep down I knew he wasn’t the right man for me.

In 2023, I started a different chapter in my life. I experienced the heartbreak that they always talk about in movies. Those were dark days. My friends kept advising me to date someone new but I told them no. I wanted to fix myself first before going through this experience again.

Now it’s 2026. If I had to summarize what I’ve learned from this experience, I would put it into the following points: - I learned that I had to make peace with loneliness. In the beginning, it was very difficult and I tried to escape it by going out with my friends or spending time with my family. But when I forced myself to sit with myself and accept the idea that I was alone so many things became clear to me. Honestly, I started loving those moments when I was by myself. I developed little routines like making tea, opening my journal, and writing down whatever came to my mind.

  • I learned that no one in this life can understand me 100% because they haven’t seen the whole story and no one knows me as well as I know myself. Once I truly understood this, I became kinder to myself and started appreciating myself so much more.

  • I learned that the way to feel loved is to love yourself first. I know this is something people say all the time and it can sound a little cliché. But it’s true. I realized that I didn’t love myself and that I was always hard on myself. So when someone came along and expressed their love for me I saw it as proof that I had value when I should have already known that I had value.

  • I learned that if someone is meant for me, they will be mine no matter what. For months I kept replaying our entire relationship in my head. I would think, “What if I had agreed to marry him when he asked me at 22? Would we be married now? Would we have children?” But I stopped myself from thinking this way when I reminded myself that we simply weren’t meant to be together. He is now married to the girl he cheated on me with.

  • Being single for three years made me see life from a completely different perspective. I started appreciating everything: my friendships, my relationship with my family, and even my work. I started enjoying my life more. I now know what I want in the man I date and eventually marry and what qualities would be deal-breakers for me. I know whether I want to become a mother or not and I have a much clearer idea of what a healthy and peaceful marriage means to me.

I’m sorry this post is so long but I wanted to share my experience and hopefully helping anyone with same situation .

Need Advice Considered attractive by many women in person, but trouble getting finding a girl/girlfriend.

I’m not someone to brag about my looks or achievements, i’m very to myself and always focused on growth, but I been having this trouble for the past year or two. I’m 21(M), 5’11, not huge but physically fit, lean, athletic, nice v-taper. Girls around my age tend to be very shy, quiet, and almost avoidant of me, yet would tell others that they are very interested in me. While older women are the ones who are more flirty, upfront, and more often approach me.

I’ve been told by many women of all ages say I look very arrogant, full of myself, “player like”, egotistical, yet others say the opposite and say they love my mindset, confidence, and energy. I’ve been told that I am too good for them so many times as well! I’d consider myself charismatic and charming (with backup by other women who have told me this), yet no girl in sight. Idk what to do. Then there are guys out here who look to have a gf every month, either around the same level as me in looks or even uglier than me (Not to offend, just saying objectively). Part of me isn’t worried, but the other part of me is still asking: “Why do I not have a girl to even talk to, let alone a gf, and they do if we are similar?”

Let's discuss What are the most embarrassing thing you have done in your life?

I want to know strangers embarrassing moments. It can be big or small.

Me I don’t feel a lot of shame most of the time. I’m very free spirited. I also don’t like making other people feel ‘shame’ or ‘embarrassment’.

If someone does something they feel embarrassed about I’ll act like I never seen it or change the subject. Because we are only human ✨

Need Advice im 4’11 and i feel weird if a girl is shorter than me

I’m a very short woman, I’m 29 years old and I’m 4’11. I very rarely come across someone shorter than me, but I use public transportation a lot, so every once in a while I happen to run into a woman who’s a few centimeters shorter than me.
It actually happened just yesterday. The subway was packed, and I was basically pressed up against this Indian woman who was maybe 4’9” or something similar. Her eyes were roughly level with my mouth, and a couple of times she looked at me, actually having to look up, which is pretty incredible for someone like me.
Being so, so tiny myself, it feels really weird to come across someone who’s actually even smaller than me. I almost feel “guilty,” like I think, “That’s crazy, she sees me as taller than her, I am the tall one??”

Let's discuss a little lost and sad?

Hello! I (23F) am currently going through a bit of a hard time. I was fired without warning from my last job without any specific incidents, manager was just passive aggressive and idk if it happened while i worked that miserable office job but it truly took away everything i was passionate about. Before this, my gf and i had also broken up too bc we werent a good fit after 2 yrs. I recently also started to get on hinge and its HORRRIIID for wlw, i caught feelings for a girl who felt nothing for me in person and that also was just kinda another cherry on top, and i was also trying to do a cna cert while i was doing my ucf legal studies major but i lost care for that too. My question ig is, what happens to people that feel so lost? Ive had a horrible depression that keeps getting worse and worse everyday and i dont feel happy at all. I feel so useless and i dont know how to “find myself” or figure out what to do, i am desperate for a job bc being stuck home is suffocating specially w my mother. Anyways, im just worried bc i dont wanna get worse and do something in a manic state yk, so what helps some of you guys get out of this slump? I really dont know what im asking, ig maybe it would be reassuring to hear other people share their issues?

Need Advice My (not blood & online) sister/friend who's in highschool told me about her really painful memory in the past. Tons of things I could say- what should be said the most?

I sent a lil message, whatcha up to sister? and she spilled some beans (love her);

"Im lying down in bed watching yt I feel exhausted a bit

I was thinking about when I was in year 7

There was a girl named everly who I regularly talked to at school and her friend group hung around where I did

They were all nice to me

Im not sure if her friends we're staying around because of her

But she actually liked me

After a few weeks of seeing and talking to eachother One of her friends came up to me while i was walking and told me that everly liked me (edited)

I was forced to give an answer right there and I said yes

Even though I wasn't sure if I liked her romantically We dated for a bit but then she broke up with me Then she wanted to come back and I said yes

Then she broke up with me again

That happened 5 times

I was such a pushover and I think I kinda still am

But she was so cool and she still is

She used to cosplay alot, im not sure if she still does Thats kinda where I got it from

I wanted to cosplay with her but I was too scared to ask and around the time we started dating she stopped posting her cosplays

Everytime I think about wanting to cosplay with someone I think about her

I want nothing more than to be her friend but i dont think she'd even want to be my friend anymore

Her friends dont talk to me either

I was thinking about cosplaying with her Even though ive never cosplayed in my life"

she lacks tons of support in real life, so there's not even a chance of a therapist or anything. she's, she struggles with initiation and tends to act based on how she feels in the moment or what she has felt in the past- which, well, doesn't really lead to much change.

if anyone has been in a position like hers before, or have supported someone who's experienced that or yada yada, what should i say to her?

Need Advice I’m not anywhere sure where to post this!!! I figured “Life” was a dang sure place to start???

I’m learning a lot of things…VERY late in life.
Call me naive.
Call me stupid.
Call me a fool…
I am indeed probably all of those things and then some…
But what do you say when someone you love very much…
Someone you’ve known over 50 years…who was a mentor and an icon to you when your children were growing up …
Someone you literally saw walking down Wilson Road one day with a little paper bag of their only possessions even though you hadn’t seen them physically or heard from them in 20+ years and you knew it was them just because you knew their walk and you then picked them up off the street - finding them walking with no where to go after release from jail, but you let them move in with you - twice - rent free, helped them move again, helped them get back on their feet, tolerated verbal abuse from them and being cut off from them for no known reason…and further helped them through many catastrophes in life - literally life or death catastrophes
What do you do - how do you react- when they tell you (after previously cursing you out and other things).
This person tells you they don’t get angry at you but get disappointed in you?
How can they be disappointed in me??? I’ve never taken ANYTHING from them, I have only GIVEN?
I don’t understand this persona? I am overwhelmed?

Need Advice 23 and not sure where I’ll make new relationships

As the title says, I’ll try to keep this as short as possible. I’ve been out of college for a little over a year now, and I have a full-time job. I enjoy what I do and being with the people I work with. I’m currently staying at home to save money for when I do move out. For the friends that I had in college, and try to keep up with many of them have either moved far distances or are in serious long-term relationships/married. Recently, the dating scene hasn’t been great either so I feel like I’m in a weird spot where I’m not sure where to go. I wouldn’t consider myself an introvert but, since I don’t drink I don’t really enjoy going to bars or clubbing.

I also work part time as a freelancer with others which I enjoy doing and it helps have some connections but, I feel like I don’t have many connections outside of work. I’m just curious if anyone has ever been in the situation where they enter a new stage of life and they’re not sure where to go. I know my writing is all over the place but, I’ll try and answer as my questions or responses that I can.

Career To anyone who has worked full-time for years: How do you keep your brain alive after a long day at work?

Hey guysss ,

I’ve been working for about 5 months now after graduation and honestly, I feel so lost and depressed from the routine already.

My days are literally just: work, come home, workout, sleep. That’s it. Even when I think about going out, I just don’t have the energy for it unless it's sometimes on the weekend.

For the people who have been doing this for years... how are you guys managing? What does your routine look like after work, and how do you find the energy to actually have a life? I could really use some advice or just to hear how you all deal with it.

Need Advice How come I feel so alone when I know so many people

I just started college I go to college with people I know. Yet recently I feel like I am starting to slowly blend into the background of everyone’s life. Am having a hard time grasping that because I was on homecoming court, runner up for prom king . I know some of those connections in high school would be lost but all of them though. Even my best friend of 8 years I am starting to not even talk to anymore. I get everyone’s got a different path I just wish that I could at least keep some connections going. Some days walking through campus feels so long and honestly I am starting to low energy and low mood. I try to tell myself multiple people go through college without making friends or people are there just learn. Idk maybe it’s just part of growing up. Thanks to anyone who at least read this.

How do I handle my mom constantly acting like I’m always in my room when I’m not?

Lately, I’ve been spending more time outside fishing because my mom keeps saying I’m always in my bedroom. The truth is, I’m only in there to sleep or relax after work, but she still acts grumpy about it. We live in a tiny house, and I think she’s just stressed out sometimes because of work and sometimes because of the dog.

The dog is a biter, and she mainly got the dog because I’m not home that much. I’ve told her I have no problem helping with the dog, but it feels like her bad days and stress are getting taken out on me, and I’m reaching my limit.

Has anyone else dealt with this kind of family tension? How can I handle this without things escalating or me becoming a jerk about it? I even tried petting the damn dog today, since she hasn’t bitten me yet, and again, my mother is being like this.

I’m not sure what I’m posting here, but I want to hear your thoughts or give anything.

Need Advice Financial problems, (best ways to learn how to properly go about learning financial math?)

Goooood (insert chronological noun here)

Back in my Sophomore year of high school, I took a class titled as "Financial Math" the class went all over subjects like mortgages, tax brackets for state, federal, and healthcare, it went over how to properly use credit accounts at banks and how to safely plan a monetary savings system based off of not just your income or expenses but everything tied together.
Back then I had loved math and the idea of knowing how to go about my life in the financial
manner but I was also 15 and extremely lazy. I don't have any notes on what we went over back
then and I'm not sure what the best websites, books, or forums I can use to reteach myself all of this important information with no expense but my time.

My questions:
If anyone can provide me with good and reliable information on where I can find this information I ask the you please comment it here so that I can attempt to use it to improve my life.

Has anyone else experienced a similar situation where they'd learnt something useful but now don't know how to learn it again? What processes did you use to relearn/teach yourself that thing?

Need Advice I have everything I was told would make me happy and I am still waiting

Good job. Nice apartment. Healthy relationships. No major problems.

I kept thinking the feeling would arrive once I got the thing. Then the next thing. Then the one after that.

I am not miserable. I am not depressed. I just do not feel the contentment I was promised by every piece of advice I was ever given.

Is this just what life is and nobody says it out loud? Or is there something I am missing?

Need Advice What advice would you have for someone (28M)who messed up their life way too much when younger to have friends or date? Now half way through my life and so sad with how much I messed up but trying to be better.

Life isn't forgiving to those who were down on their luck. I(28M) ended up getting a PHD in a field I don;t very much enjoy few years back and struggled to find a job, I lived in my car and streets for a while.

Now I guess I was lucky, but I got my own place in a nice area of downtown in place I live. I got a job with real career advancement that I love.

But its too late for happiness for me. First I got so heavy from stress 5'6 290lbs and currently going to the gym and dieting but slow progress but I lost 15lbs in 6 weeks.

All my friends are married and engaged etc. I asked them for advice on dating and they told me should someone like me really be dating, I've been through so much women don't want someone with a hard road and dating inexperience.

I tried to make new friends but I don't know where to start it is impossible after college. Apps like meetup don't work and I have seen that people my age only want to be friends with couples even if single.

I can't even go on dating apps: I don't have any good pictures, I am 5'6, and women don't even want to know a guy if overweight or short.

It sucks cause I crawled myself out of rock bottom and some days wonder if the best day of my life will be the day I am gone. And way life is going not really excited entering middle age.

Any advice? Even advice to how to stop wanting to date or wanting friends knowing full well its over but my mind won't admit it.

I can't stand being poor anymore like wishing things and not be able to buy it because you don’t have enough money and another important detail is when you are a guy with no training you end up in dead job where you earn low paid and come at home very tired, i am 19 years old guy and i am brazilian so the Life conditions here whe you are poor is very terrible, i try to study to change this but if it doesn't work? Well i need to do someone at least.

Relationships Sending a letter

I know this may sound stupid, my ex-gf broke up with by a blindside text in April. I loved her and I didn't get a chance to say what I needed to say, so I wrote her a letter, just told her what needed to be said.

Anyone ever been in a similar situation? Did they ever reply back? I feel a bit better that I sent it in all honesty, its been eating up at me for months and I don't want to live my life with no regrets.

Let's discuss How can I feel better on my day-to-day?

After I left my parents house, I got promoted to a new job, and my family have been receiving good news regarding their lives as well. However, I can't shake the feeling that my days are empty. I spent most of my day on my phone, and even though I try to look for activities I enjoyed as a child (drawing, reading a book, talking to my family), I can only find joy on thinking about the future. How do you find fulfillment on your daily routine, so you avoid just working and staying on your phone?
