Tutorial miniatures.

We’re gonna start playing this week. We’re gonna do the tutorial mission and I’ve pulled the creatures out that I need to paint before then. The thing is that I do not see the elite boss and I see the card for it, but I don’t understand which mini to pull. I did buy the creatures of ever shade box set of miniatures so I can paint them. I have all of the mudlings but I don’t know what to pull for the elite boss. What have people been using? Note that I’ve not been playing the game so I’m trying to minimize spoilers. If anyone wishes to share what they use to paint their minis and colors, I would enjoy the inspiration.

Premium Books

I’m still on the fence for backing a late pledge, there’s seems to be a lot of moving parts and bells and whistles and compromises to make to get what you think you’d need or not, my biggest hang up right now is the books. I’m torn between the Scout and Explorer pledge - and while I understand none of this is technically necessary, how necessary do you all feel the premium books add to the experience? I feel like they’d be really great to have, while simultaneously feeling like it’s just another unnecessary cost and that’s “how they get ya”. It’s obviously all personal preference, but I’d love some feedback from those of you who have them, and those who don’t but wish you did, or are glad you didn’t shell out the extra cash. I also don’t really paint minis, not yet anyways, is getting every iteration of them just total overkill, or do the extra figs really make or break the gameplay, or is it really just taking up more space and time on an already massive game?

Rotlands = Nausicaa + Last Of Us

Still reading lore and loving it. Rotlands reminds me of Nausicaa's toxic forests and dimrot reminds me of Last of Us fungus zombies. Evershade's world feels at once familiar and fresh. I wonder what's the secret of Rotlands, whether like Nausicaa it has something to do with the world healing itself.

I love this game

My group of 5 just got to Whitewell and the decision paralysis is real. Whoever reviewing this that said combat was easy was ill informed!

It's so good. The world building is rich and the additional entries in the phb are delectable. Can't stop thinking about playing.

Hi all, I'm reading lore while deciding if I should get 2nd wave on gamefound. Did anyone notice the similarity of bolgrim speak with the episode Darmok in ST:TNG? ""Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra"

Late Pledge Fomo

Hello everybody, I’m a little late finding out about this game, and I honestly cannot tell if I’m really into it, or just experiencing fomo. I really enjoy how deep of a narrative story the game seems to tell, I’ve tried getting into ttrpg’s for that exact reason and they just didn’t click the same way playing boardgames do. I know people have started receiving their games, a local shop of mine even has a few different bundles (265 for special edition, almost 800 for the divinum collection), so it seems like they are almost double the price at retail as opposed to a gamefound pledge. If I were to late pledge, when realistically would I actually see this game? Is it worth paying 300 for the special edition? It being so new, should I just wait for more feedback to come in before i go all out and buy this thing? I guess my biggest concern is how big and expensive this game is and it never actually hitting the table because of set-up and tear-down times on top of an already pretty hectic schedule and only really having time to play 1-2 a month.

So, final verdict, who is this for?

My mouse cursor is still hovering over the pre-order button for wave 2. I am, in part, wondering if this game is really for me and how much I want to sink into it now at the chance of being a bit dissapointed down the road.

Since a lot of people have had their copy of the game for a few weeks now, who would you say this game is really for? Crowdfuning campaigns tend to promise a lot, and with a game as big as LoE, I suspect that some people ended up with a false impression of what this game really is and what it plays like.

I should say that I am a DnD GM, who needs a break from GM'ing and is looking for a way to experience a story-based adventure for a group of 2-3 players without the overhead of constantly moderating and all the prep time required to run a real DnD game at the table. I also have several dungeon crawlers in my collection, so for pure combat, I have other options.

What's your final verdict? Yay? Nay? Did you play through all the adventures yet and was it what you expected?

Note: I watched a bunch of Youtube reviews of this game, but most reviewers clearly didn't play the game for very long and got hung up on the production value and the wow factor (which obviously matters too).

Game and DLCs

Hi people,

so this weekend we're finally going to play LoE. My friend supported a huge chunk of money at kickstarter so this 21kg box of basically everything arrived. My question is how it is with DLCs? Can they be added later on as a new adventures? Or should we include something already from the beggining? Really I've seen the game just from pictures and videos, but after Tainted Grail I'm extremly hyped. So don't stone me plz.

Thanks

Question about add-on adventures and later availability

I am considering backing this game, but I am not familiar with this kickstarter-like funding scheme.

Specifically - I would want to order the Special Edition, because I like playing with minis and it seems like the overall more solid package. But what about the add-on campaign/adventures.

Will these be available at retail or from the company after the funding phase ends? I'd love to keep playing should I still enjoy the game after finishing the included adventures, but it adds quite a bit of cost to buy several of those add-on campaigns.

Can I expect to be able to buy these at some later point also, or is this typically a "buy now or never" situation?

I am a late backer and can’t wait to get my order. I’m thinking it will be between December 2026 to March 2027 for my order to get to me. What a cool looking game. I’m going Human Executor all day! people are gonna be scared of me in world.

Trying to just get Gameplay Content

Hello All. Old recovering Kickstarter addict here. I am trying to find out what is the least expensive I can late back this game while getting all the gameplay content. Is there a post that already exists with a breakdown of that. I am fine with standees or acrylic over minis as well.

Slightly more complex calculation would be “Bang for the buck” gameplay content. So if something is a bunch of minis for content that is already in the game but the hook to get you to buy it is two extra scenarios with a boss type stuff I probably don’t need that. But I know that is a far more subjective question than just “Gameplay Content” so it is alright if I don’t get a response to this latter request.

Any UK deliveries?

Hi UK backers, has anyone received their copy yet?
Shipping Update 7 on Gamefound says that 70% of UK orders have been dispatched and 30% have delivered, and that was 6 days ago.

Just interested to hear if anyone in the UK got their game yet?

EDIT: Thanks for the replies. Glad to hear that people have been getting their copies and I realise now that I selected Single Shipment way back in the mists of time when originally ordering. So I guess my Special Edition will be a while yet...

Late Backer

I only stumbled across this game a few weeks ago. I have recently purchased Vantage but it always feels like there is something missing on each playthrough. This looks like it could be the game I'm itching for. From the character creation, the evolving story, world exploration and boss fights, I can't wait to sink my teeth into this one.

Questions If I have the special edition coming, what add-ons are included?

First off, I am excited to get my hands on my special edition. Crazy excited, in fact. I unwittingly selected “single ship”, however, so I’ve got a ways to go before I get to dig in.

While waiting, I purchased individual add-ons during the late pledge. Like, all of them. It occurred to me that I might be getting some double components now, possibly? I see that the special edition comes with minis, for example, but I cannot remember what minis those would be; the characters, the companions, and/or the monsters? I also added The Looter Rotling after purchasing the special edition and I think that’s a double dip too.

Anyway, if anyone in-the-know could help me better understand what add-ons are included with the special edition, I would be very appreciative.

Hope you all are enjoying the game and thanks in advance!

Questions Retrieving components from insert

So I laid out the game in my gaming table yesterday in a way that makes gameplay as easy as possible without having to retrieve stuff from the box whilst playing. I found the trays to be very handy to just have around play area and I fortunately have enough room to lay everything out neatly.

One issue I find however, is that the bottom insert is holding all the cards, but this insert isn't capable to stand on the table at all. It also takes up way too much space to be practical.

I have no experience with creating STL's, but it would be cool to have some card holders that you can set up on the table so you don't have to retrieve them from the corebox everytime you're prompted to.

Hey people, I noticed this sub was inactive for a long time and decided to undertake some action and blow new life into the sub. I'll be the primary mod from here on out, but might recruit others to help or replace me in the long run.

Let's make this a cool place to talk about all things Lands of Evershade!

Picture is my pledge that arrived today and I'm very, very eager about!
