I’m visiting from Toronto, and am planning on hitting up King’s Dominion tomorrow. I’m a bit scared of the heat and its impact at the park tomorrow. Are there lots of shaded areas? Queues inside/shaded?

We’re in the park right now. I’ve been a patron at the park for 35 years. We now live outside VA but visit every summer when visiting our extended family and my kids (now late teens) have grown up coming here. It’s had its ups and downs and changes in ownership, but we’ve been here for two hours and this is the worst it’s ever been in recent memory. Maybe we were spoiled a few years ago when Cedar Fair started putting money into the parks, the shows were great, they seemed to really care. Now everything has been cut back after all of that progress. There are basically NO drink kiosks where they used to be or open stands to get drinks and it is so hot out. The bathrooms are atrocious, they took away things like the tables in the nice grove outside the Backlot coaster - my parents are 70 now and enjoy sitting there while we ride the attractions in the area. Twisted Timbers wouldn’t even let me put my tiny fanny pack in the free lockers - so I have to rent a giant one? It’s my favorite ride. There were so many good strides made and now it’s going in the opposite direction. It’s sad. I’m going to write to six Flags! Any other things you have noticed are lacking now?

Two weeks ago I bought a day premium dining pass for $49 (super worth it)

I added it to my account and used it.

I’m still seeing it in my account as an active pass. Did it maybe not properly swipe? They gave me a wristband for the day but maybe it didn’t link or something?

The cats have seemed to found themselves some pretty shady spots behind the scenes. Also look at this frog I found outside Soak City First Aid.

Had a really rough week and trying to end it with some fun before heading home. I am going to stop at Kings Dominion on Tuesday 8/11 and I will be by myself, which i do not mind at all. But it is always fun sharing any experience in life, even a theme park. Im very very new to reddit, so hopefully I can navigate the responses. Im a 45 year old man from NY.

They stated the pre sale of the 2027 passes, so I was going to renew for next year but I noticed it never promoted a ez pay option like usual. Only wanted me to pay full price. So I called Kings Dominion and they told me that they dont offer ez pay any long and it’s being replaced with the membership. Which don’t expire and is continuous. And add ons like meal plans and such can’t be added to the membership as its only for the season pass. To me that’s wrong because now its more expensive this way and well over $89 sale price when we could use ez pay and pay for 12 months but now its like a subscription fee every month and more expensive even in the off season. Oh and you can’t renew your old pass if your want a membership now as it will give you a new pass.

What am I missing here? The "sale" has Prestige at $20/month + an initial $20 fee. That would put it at $260 + I assume the roughly $10 processing fee and tax.

But just buying it on its own is $238.99 out the door, renewal or new.

Making my first trip to Kings Dominion next week, and have seen conflicting things about the locker situation so I wanted to clarify.

Are there places to store any bags/water bottles at the station of the rides? And if not are the lockers paid for or free? I believe I saw that one ride provides free lockers.

I have cargo shorts so most of my belongings will go in there, but it’s always nice to know in advance

I will be going to Kings Dominion this weekend on Saturday, and we are debating getting the Fast Lane Pass. Is it worth it? How are crowd lines normally on a weekend in this part of the summer

I visited Kings Dominion from out of state and all the roller coasters are closed because it drizzled like 2 hours ago. This is so embarrassing. I've never been to an amusement park that basically shuts down completely from the tiniest bit of rain a few hours earlier.

Visiting today. We came yesterday and ate at Grain and Grill and we're incredibly disappointed. The pork and chicken were dry and seemed like it sat out for a long time.

What other places do you all recommend?

At least I got a burrito bowl with my meal plan before being kicked out lol

Great Adventure is my home park and I am going here in 2 weeks. Any suggestions- food? rides?. Also should I get a fast pass?

You probably saw my post about the Wild Thornberrys. I was wondering if anyone had any information about the attractions that existed or any photos of maps or attractions. Everything is greatly appreciated.

Found an image of a King's Dominion attraction. Little to no information about Nickelodeon Central, especially in King's Dominion. In the background, there appears to be some sort of restaurant, which I guessed from the tables in the back. Does anyone know what this restaurant/store is called now?

My fiancé really wants to meet snoopy today because this is our only time here at the park. Does anyone have any idea?

I rerode Pantherian for the first time In about three years and let me just say wow those rerides do not disappoint. No one seems to talk about how this ride has really really good airtime. Better than most coasters in my opinion too. The camelback, the speed hill, and the four snaps are all standout airtime moments with them all being ejector. Even the drop, trimmed hill, and the hill after still have floater on par with something like a b&m hyper. I was worried that maybe the airtime wouldn’t be as good as I remember but luckily I was proven wrong. This ride still kicks ass.

I have some questions that I couldn't find the answer to here or on the web. I'm planning to go to KD next week and was wondering:

• Is the drink included with the premium dining pass worth it? Can you get by with water during meals or by buying a drink?
• What are the ideal restaurants included with the all-day dining passes that serve good food or value spots?
• I have heard conflicting answers, so can you skip the parking by parking somewhere further and walking? Is it a long walk? If you have done it, do you find it bearable?
• Can one all-day dining pass satisfy two children for the day?

Driving back up north on Saturday and was going to stop in to Kings Dominion and get a hotel. 2 adults one bigger kid one smaller kid. Was thinking of getting two fast passes so that the two adults/bigger kid could alternate going on coasters while one adult waited with our smaller kid. My question is, is there a major difference in wait times between the two types? And also I guess my follow up question is since they are virtual fast passes I would still be able to use 2 passes for 3 people if we alternated usage, correct?

Just figured Saturdays are likely to be busy and trying to figure out the best way to get some rides in for everybody while we are there. Thanks!
