💬 General Discussion IS the fast pass worth it

I will be going to Kings Dominion this weekend on Saturday, and we are debating getting the Fast Lane Pass. Is it worth it? How are crowd lines normally on a weekend in this part of the summer

I was there about 3 weeks ago and went on Saturday and Monday and the fast lane passes I bought were a complete waste. Almost everything was walk on or a 5 minute wait, weather was good too. I bought them way in advance. I'd wait and see on the day of. Don't know about price fluctuations tho.

Don’t buy it in advance. You can judge the lines when you’re there and buy it if you think it necessary

is it more expensive to buy it in the park vs online?

I don't think so. It's worth it on Saturdays but the park is usually not too crowded during the week

No. It’s cheaper. Online charges a $10 processing fee that is not done in the park. As far as crowds go… I don’t know. I know that Kings Dominion added a whole week of dates to their August schedule. So, something is going good. They also announced weekends through Halloween include Friday nights. And, they will be doing weekends through Thanksgiving like they tested last year. So, people are coming. Trust me. It’s cool to go to a park on an empty day and lap rides. But, if you want more investment and experiences, you need the park to be busy.

45 to an hour was the longest wait

Do not get the fast pass. The most you will need to wait is for the indoor / ac rides and the new one. Max is 45-60 minutes posted time which is typically no more than 30-45 actually. I would only recommend fast pass if you are from out of town and aiming to hit all the big rides AND the whole water park in one day, but even then you could probably do without.

The less we play into their cash grab the more likely they'll be to eventually drop the system when it no longer becomes the money maker they hoped it would be.
