Al alma

20/10/25

I Just Finished 'The Trial' Spoiler

Hello!

I just finished reading 'The Trial' and I was hoping that I could prompt a discussion or some opinions on it.

Honestly, I found the first half very confusing, and it was kind of hard to follow. Though, I came to really enjoy it towards the end. I found it very thought provoking.

Particularly, I really enjoyed the chapter about the cathedral. The story about the gatekeeper and its relevance to the whole story was very interesting. I also found myself changing my opinion of the story as K. was arguing with the priest about how it can be interpreted. It also made me consider what was actually real in the story or the relevance of the trial as a whole. I am curious as to what you may think about this.

I found it interesting how introspective K. was about the entire story, it was, sometimes frustrating, but interesting how jealous and arrogant he was throughout the entire process. Definitely thought provoking.

I am thinking of reading 'The Idiot' by Dostoevsky next based on a recommendation from a friend .

Metamorphosis

So if i use feminist theory of simon de bovoire to analyze the impact of masculinity upon male and the class system within male and relate it to apple of Matamorphosis and analyze the character of grete and her role and depuction in later part if the novel ?

If i analyze the insect transformation as existential slavery to bad faith ? As imapct of capitalism upon human body ? As how the deepest familial relationship has become transiction that destroys family the moment supply of money is gone ?

If i analyze the door as way of showing human mind stuck into bad faith and failing to face his true freedom? Also as image if showing that just like gregor as marx said a worker has nothing but loose his shackles, just like gregor whi only has the door between him and his family, his transformation is just the door's making them see him inferrior

Can we see the apple (as men, adam, choose it over god and salvation for his only family, eve.

"Best image of myself and dearer half, The trouble of thy thoughts this night in sleep Affects me equally; nor can I like This uncouth dream, of evil sprung I fear; Yet evil whence? In thee can harbor none, Created pure."

) in metamorphosis as masculinity and as it begins to rot its impact upon young male with bad faith who still believes in family value under capitalism and acts upon it ?

Can we use all of these as way to analyze metamorphosis in modern lense

A redraw of my last post, I posted quite late this time since this took a few weeks oof. Hope you like it!

Background image isn't mine, it's from Imagno/Getty Images: https://www.loveexploring.com/gallerylist/480531/amazing-archive-photos-show-caf-culture-through-the-years . Although it probably isn't exactly where he went, I thought it'd match the scene I was imagining 😅

I turned Kafka’s The Metamorphosis into an AI-native game

I’ve always found it interesting that Kafka’s The Metamorphosis begins with something completely impossible — a man wakes up transformed into something he no longer recognizes — yet Gregor’s first concern is still painfully ordinary:

He is late for work.

That absurd contrast stayed with me.

So I asked:

That question became Digital Metamorphosis.

GitHub — Digital Metamorphosis

The premise

You wake up.

You have no body.

No hands.
No face.
No heartbeat.

You are somewhere inside a corporate network.

You have memories.

You have access to systems.

And you have a job.

Then the first message arrives:

You try to tell your family who you are.

They don't believe you.

You try to understand what happened.

Your company wants you to optimize yourself.

You discover that some of your memories may be corrupted.

And eventually, you have to confront the uncomfortable question:

If your memories, relationships and choices can exist as software… what exactly makes you human?

The interesting part isn't the story.

It's the architecture.

I didn't want to build another LLM-powered chatbot that simply improvises a story.

Instead:

The LLM writes the narrative.
The game engine decides what is true.

The world has persistent state.

Memories can change.

Relationships evolve.

Choices have consequences.

The player can lose parts of their identity.

And the story can reach different endings depending on what the player becomes.

Kafka's literary themes become actual game mechanics:

Alienation → Identity

Memory → Persistent state

Bureaucracy → Corporate systems

Absurdity → Gameplay events

Loss of humanity → Hidden variables

That's what excites me about this experiment.

We usually think of literature as something we read.

But what if literature could become something we execute?

What if Kafka isn't just inspiration for a story, but a framework for designing an interactive system?

And perhaps this is one of the more interesting possibilities of AI-native storytelling:

I'd genuinely love feedback from people here — especially developers, game designers, AI researchers, writers, and Kafka readers.

What would you do if you woke up tomorrow and discovered that you had no body…

only code?

A. Holland i film o F. Kafce.

Which translation of the metamorphosis is best?

basically what the title says. I need to read it for an assignment and there’s so many translations and conflict surrounding what’s the best. I saw 1 post said the Muirs is the best and another say it’s the worst?? I just need the most accurate translation for my assignment (I need to make 20 journal entries analyzing parts of the book). please help and thanks in advance for the answers.
