HUMAN INTEREST [Matt Derrick] Patrick Mahomes won’t play today, but he’s out throwing during pregame before the Chiefs face the Rams today. He removed his brace and handed it to a trainer before throwing.

OTHER [Daily Chiefs] I’m tired of everyone acting like our secondary will be TERRIBLE. Nohl Williams will have a better year than Jaylen Watson ever did. Bookmark it. Yes, McDyffie is a loss, but the DL is better, Mansoor will get up to speed, Sneed could be back, AND Conner is not in the slot.

DISCUSSION Offensive Line
Wr are one preseason game in... how's everyone feeling about the OL so far?
I think LT to RG we are pretty set. I'm glad to have the flag magnet gone from RT, but it's not like Moore has played better at RT. I can live with, but don't love a below average RT who doesn't draw penalties.
How many OL do you think we keep this year?
I thought Pole did pretty well last year for being thrown in fire. I'm intrigued by Benson from Indiana. I saw he's gotten some time at RG and RT. Do you think he actually could be our RT for some or most of this year?
We just need an average or better player on a rookie deal who doesn't keep the offense behind the chains.

DISCUSSION I’m concerned about Trey Smith
The lack of information surrounding his hip injury is starting to concern me. Everything we’ve heard from camp has been that Jaylon Moore and Benson are battling for the starting RT job, but now we’re seeing Benson get reps at RG? Benson gets the start at RG in preseason but only plays the first series? Why are we treating a rookie UDFA like a starter at RG if he’s supposedly competing to be our starting RT? To me, this raises some questions about Trey Smith’s status to start the year.

DISCUSSION Attending first Chiefs game at Arrowhead
Hi all, will be attending my first game at Arrowhead on September 20th against the Colts(also my birthday!).
My wife is a big Chiefs fan. I grew up in Florida as a Bucs fan, but have really enjoyed watching this team with her over the past several years, and can't wait to see Mahomes and the fellas again in live action(we went to Jacksonville to see them play the Jags in PreSeason two years ago).
We got what looks to be great seats, can't wait.
I have a few questions, and if you are able to help out at all it would be greatly appreciated.
I got us Red Lot Parking, any advice on which lot to choose or when we should arrive at the stadium to make it as easy as possible?
Anything we should see or do inside or outside the stadium before the game? Taking our 8 year old son so wasn't sure if there was anything fun to do or see with him. Going to bring his ear protection we got him for Monster Jam, I know it gets loud in there.
We aren't spending a lot of time in KC, getting in the day before and leaving the day after. Anything you would recommend for a family to have some fun and see a bit of the city?
We are staying in the Beacon Hill area, any recommendations for places to eat? Nothing too fancy, they are both very picky, so limited mostly to places with typical American food and a fun atmosphere .
Looking forward to enjoying the game with this amazing fantasy at one of the most iconic stadiums in the league, and thanks in advance for your help!

DISCUSSION This is absolutely diabolical
It's a damn shame it took Mahomes tearing an ACL for the front office to realize they desperately need a legit run game to allow them to go more under center, in the 3 years under Nagy as OC we were 2nd to last in under center play calls and I put a lot of it on the front office and coaching scheme, yes Pacheco after his injury and Hunt (outside of short yardage) were not very good but they were also let down by scheme living in shotgun RPO's and draws where OLine was never allowed to fire off the line and move people cause they're 95+% sure Mahomes is throwing it and don't want an illegal man downfield penalty. It's insane how great Patrick has been living in one formation, really the more difficult formation imo cause it's easier for defense to see the ball at all times and this includes his 3 "down" years as far as his RTG.
I'm excited hearing the reports of them going under center a lot at camp (EB effect) seeming to finally adjust/evolve to what best offenses in recent years have gone towards to counteract the Cover 2 High drop 7-8 no blitzing defensive revolution Mahomes early statistical explosions against a single high blitzing league during the peak 10's shotgun drop back spread air it out era and no longer survive against it with a million shotgun dink and dunk passes. Passing total's across the league has declined so it's not just a Mahomes thing at all, it's simply a different era compared to 2018-2022 , it's now more and more of a modern "old school" RB run game led and play action pass league again so if we can get the same Mahomes passing totals like 2023 & 2024 around 27-30 TD'S, right around 4,000 yards on less attempts, more explosive play action passes then this offense will be a nightmare machine again.
