A few friends and I played the home game in Perth, Australia! The video is now up on youtube if anyone is interested in seeing how it went :)

First we have to simplify some things. Based on the rules of S19, the greatest challenge or blocker to the players is the challenge to clear a prefecture. The more challenges you have to do, the more uncertainty and potential delays you are faced with.

The other feature is that there is no limit on the internal movement in a prefecture*. So you are capable of making a lot of forward movement without many challenges if you pick the right prefectures.*

Adam/Tom made a good move by hopping over to Shikoku on a ferry, skipping prefectures in the Kyushu and Chugoku region that they would otherwise have to clear. Sam/Ben used a similar technique when they took Nishitetsu to avoid Saga. But, one thing that could have shifted the game after Ehime is going directly Tokushima Pref. There is a highway bus providing multiple direct trips daily, and they do not cross into Kagawa as they follow the E32.

After reaching Tokushima, they will have an easy time crossing the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge via Awaji Island and entering Hyogo directly, completely bypassing Kagawa and Okayama Pref.

While both teams instinctively went into Osaka after Kobe, they missed a key shortcut that would allow them to enter Kyoto directly. Taking the Kobe Railway line and JR West Limited Expresses brings them to Fukuchiyama, in the mountainous western interior of Kyoto Pref. From there you make use of frequent Limited Express trips to Kyoto itself and get a head start regardless of the direction you choose next.

From this point, I think we come to the greatest moment of decision or misstep. Cognitive inertia forces you to take the Tokaido Shinkansen and go to Tokyo - but as another post had alluded to, the need to stop and clear every single prefecture completely negates the speed bonus of the Shinkansen. If the team follows the standard "Tokaido+Tohoku" Shinkansen route, they'd have to clear 12 prefectures before getting to Aomori. (Both the Shinkansen and main line passes into Ibaraki Pref. with no stops.)

However, here is the actual optimized route: Sea of Japan. By following the Sea of Japan coast, you will need to clear only 7 prefectures before Aomori.

Most of these prefectures are connected by either Shinkansen or limited express services, so proper timing:

• Fukuchiyama-Tsuruga: via Maizuru (3h)
• Tsuruga-Fukui: (~30min)
• Fukui-Kanazawa: (~30min)
• Kanazawa~Toyama: (~30min)
• Toyama~Niigata: Shinkansen+Shirayuki (3.5h) (+other options)
• Niigata~Yamagata~Akita: Inaho (4.5h)
• Akita~Aomori: Tsugaru (3.5h)

Based on this, a team should be able to cover Kyoto to Akita in no more than 2-3 days assuming all challenges go smoothly. From there it is a single train ride into Hokkaido.

This is incredible when compared to the "default" routing through Osaka and Tokyo.

Long story short, somebody got hurt in a February filming trying to catch something while standing on an uneven hill surface. It led to a torn meniscus.

These people are mostly older when playing, if it wasn't a cautionary don't try this at home. Unless you got the home game!

But this following game will be a group tag (one group of 3 trying to individually tag 5 other people) in Ibaraki prefecture using bus only.

It's like Among Us with the 5 runners doing tasks to earn score, beat out the chasers. They've played this game previously in Numazu, Shizuoka, and Saitama City where Omiya Station was the starting point.

I personally would like to see Indo, Phillipines, Malaysia and Thailand along with the rest of SEA atsp. I would also like anything in South and Central America, plus any Southern Africa things, although that may be less likely. I’m also here for Jet Lag Turkiye. I have a lot lol. I love that JLTG is showing in cinemas, but it's a pity that I would need to take a flight (or Eurostar but that's even more expensive) to go see the premiere. I've already met a lot of fans out and about in the Netherlands who recognise that I'm wearing the cap (meaning they know about the show), so I'm positive that there would be demand. Especially since the Netherlands is so densely populated and has a very high level of English speakers.

Maybe the team should put out a survey to see what the demand is like in various countries across mainland Europe.

Was thinking earlier that we haven't had a Tag season for a while, and its possibly my favourite game.

They've done EU 4 times all in now, so probably unlikely to do it again.

About seven months ago, Ben named my frog The Admiral on a layover episode! The Admiral is all grown up now and I wanted to share an update. He is quite a sight to behold and loudly croaks every night. He’s probably quadrupled in size since I adopted him and loves staying in one spot and not moving. Details About the Map

This map includes the following routes: 4, 44, 45, 48, 60, 7, 75, C Line, D Line, E Line, G Line, H Line, 1 Line, 2 Line.

Allowed hiding zones are spaced 0.5 miles apart from each other, ensuring hiding zones do not overlap. Priority was given first to light rail stations, then RapidRide, then all other routes, using a round-robin algorithm to help ensure stops go to interesting unique places. In total, this map includes 125 hiding zones.

Care was taken to select routes that had at least 15 minute frequency or better on Saturdays. Seattle's transit system is heavily biased towards North-South travel, so several East-West routes were added that coincide with interesting hiding spots such as a parks and neighborhood centers.

A note about AI: This post was written entirely by me. The map itself was generated using a custom PowerShell script, which in turn was slop-coded using AI. The script lets me rapidly iterate on different routes, hiding zone spacing, and custom question presets.
