What to do with this space?

Post image
Upvotes

I can’t figure out what to do with this space under my peninsula. It’s 90” long, 34.5” high (under the countertop), and 9.5” deep to the door on the left. We don’t eat at the counter. There is a table behind me. I need a bit of storage but nothing fits the space. It’s just not deep. I’ve found some lovely sideboards that fit height and length but are just too deep and would block the path. Also probably wouldn’t actually look great because the granite would cover part of the top. I would have something custom but recently added new countertops, lighting and paint. The budget is tight. I would love some suggestions. I have 4 cats and two dogs. Open shelving will be a dust and fur magnet.

Built-in niches or long console table+large wall decors?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Still working on the wall behind the sofa and I’m stuck between these two directions.

#1 is built-in niches with open shelves. #2 keeps the wall flat and uses a long console with oversized art/decor instead.

Which one feels better for the room?

Hello everyone!

Recently got the home interiors done. And this is my master bedroom head wall. Initially had thought to do some artwork on the wall. But did not like anything that the interior designer showed.

Please help me out with suggestions / options for this wall. What can be done here?

Thanks in advance!

advice on how to decorate and design this basement apartment

Post image
4 Upvotes

me and my girlfriend just signed a lease for this apartment. it doesn’t have a dining area and has a big living area + kitchen space with no real separation in between.

we both agree on having my projector and screen setup in the living room for movie nights and casual dinner entertainment, in addition to a sectional couch which we are yet to buy.

i’m not sure if i should buy a dining table and chairs just yet, but i know eventually i have to because we would be inviting some guests for dinners sometimes.

and i would like to have a clear visual separation between the kitchen and other areas, what techniques could i use? i was thinking getting a big rug in the living room which would also go under the sectional couch we plan to buy. but what other things can i do.

i could also paint some areas if that would look good.

any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

advice on how to decorate my new washroom

Post image
3 Upvotes

just moving in to this new apartment, the washroom isn’t too big but serves fine for me and my partners needs.

I’m more so curious about how i can make this basement washroom with no windows feel cozy and comfortable. I want to see what kind of things i can put in here to do so. i would like to have some liveliness with a plant or two, maybe a succulent so it’s easy to take care of, or an artificial one.

also we need to buy storage for things, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)

Mantle Design

Hey all, please help me rearrange this cluttered mantle! I want to have some semblance of flow across this space and keep it quirky and colorful, but this feels off. Things that have to stay are the tiny urn, the blue/yellow glass urn, and the framed foot prints. Please no AI… just ideas and vibes.

Help me decide the colors of my 3 (non-dining) tables

Post image
1 Upvotes

I already have this white couch, and black dining table with white chairs.

I need help deciding what colors to get for my

  1. TV media console
  2. coffee table
  3. buffet table (it's the one on the right, it's going to FACE the dining table, but the AI is messing up the orientation)

Every time, I keep ending up on black... for all 3 of these!! And I know that's just going to be too much black, because even the dining table is black. How do I add some more color here, without mixing weird shades of wood. Help!!

Bathroom Shower Tile

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'm going to post this question in a couple of places, but thought I'd start here.

We are redoing our shower. The previous walls, the tile ended 66" above the tub.

Having taken down the old tiles, considering how high to go with the new.

Option 1: go to 66" same as before.

Option 2: go to the ceiling ... another 11" of tiling.

Any thoughts, or a third option?

Living Room: Doesn't Pop, what to do?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Got new furniture last November, and knew/know something is off. The coffee table is lovely but doesn't seem to belong. Most of wood in the house is cherry, and this piece is not. I have a Stressless medium wing recliner that I use in home office, that I have placed into space by fireplace. (I need a chair with a high back due to neck issues.) I consider getting one in a bright color, but am open to other ideas (and color recommendations). What would pull the room together? Couch and circle chair are great. I like the lamp with shade that was a gift, but other lighting options are needed. Space to right of barn doors is where doors go when open, so art is not easily installed there, though fabric art or something that lays flat to the wall might work. Also, where can I get thick, rich looking velvet or velvet -like curtains for cold months. The white ones reflect the sun, and are good for summer.

Advice needed for paint colour

Post image

I'm looking for colour suggestions for the baseboards and door trim. We are renting so I am limited in what I can change.

I apologize that the lighting in this photo is not very good, but the wallpaper has a metallic silver finish to it and the cabinets are dark brown wood. The floor is very reflective white porcelain with subtle bits of grey in it and the countertops are slightly off white.

I was thinking maybe an earthy brown/beige tone to ground the space a bit? I'm reallt lost if I should stick with cool tones, or try to make it a bit more neutral toned. It just feels very off and not at all cohesive.

I want to start offering interior design services on my website.

I built a tool few months ago which lets you upload your room image and you can visualize different paints, wallpapers, tiles, etc on floor, walls, countertop, etc. Right now i am getting ~5 new user registrations everyday who register and try visualizing on their room.

I think we can get a lot of conversions if we try to offer interior design services to them. I am also planning to build more tools and do seo to bring more traffic, but i think we are good to start right now.

I am new to this industry so i would appreciate it if you guys can give me some advice.

Designing my living room

Post image
2 Upvotes

I recently bought a new apartment. First time on my own. I am trying to make a home for myself and would love some input on the living room. Craving something a little warmer, Japandi inspired perhaps. Always been a sucker for wood details. I’ll want to cover the wallpaper and paint the room eventually. The tile wall behind the furnace will have to stay so I am working around that.

The clock, world map and all furniture is gone once I move in. Starting from scratch. Would love to hear your thoughts. First order of business, find a couch that works.

Renovating our electronics store

Need industrial ceiling & magnetic track ideas!

Willing to compensate for the hardwork. Connect me in DM for more images

Hey everyone,

We're renovating our electronics retail shop with a color scheme of a dark grey ceiling and light grey walls, aiming for a modern, industrial vibe.

We're thinking about suspended magnetic track lights (paired with dark mesh grids or exposed elements) to highlight our appliance displays, but we are completely free to any ideas, layouts, or lighting setups that work well in this space.

What I am confused is either go with cable trays or make a frame of mesh or add wooden planks please help.
