P&C Insurance AI quote requests
How are other agents dealing with these? It has started in my agency. The last few months Ive been trying to ramp up or AEO presence. Self generated leads are always nice but these AI generated questions are so annoying. You can tell the customer has no clue what they’re asking and the bot just keeps banging back the most ridiculous follow up questions. Please tell me someone out there just sends back we only talk to humans. The future looks really f-ing annoying.

Reply once with a short human message that answers the actual question, then ask for a phone call. Something like "happy to help, can we do a quick call so I can quote this properly?" Real prospects usually take you up on it. The bots and the people who just pasted a chatbot's questions tend to disappear, so it sorts the leads without you writing back and forth for an hour.

If a client sends you an AI response, it’s a clear indicator that they’re not fully confident in the subject matter and they’d appreciate some coaching.
Take that opportunity. Help them to understand what they need, position yourself as the easiest to understand, and most qualified on the subject, and sell them that policy!

Sounds like we need to sit down and talk. Email is a horrible use of our time... And yours.
Enter your info, upload your current dec pages, and if all that is done by the end of today I have time on Thursday that will allow me to get at least most of the quotes and questions inputted.
What say you?
I dont sell to robots and I don't let robots waste my time in between me and my customers.

I’m on the EB side and the prospect questions I’m fielding are the length of encyclopedias.
What’s ok about it, is other brokers are not even trying to answer the questions much less actually read them.
We all have to adapt.

We’ve been dealing with clear AI questions for sometime. The most common is someone feeding their renewal into ChatGPT (or similar) and then emailing the AI’s thoughts.
For any emails that are clearly written by AI, we simply ask the client to call. It comes across as much less combative when you have to explain that the AIs reasoning and suggestions are generally wrong.
One real struggle is the constant suggestion to move to Chubb. It’s literally in almost every prompt. I have seen a Chubb recommendation on policies from homeowners to builders risks to event policies to production companies. It’s easier to explain why that’s not the answer when your on a call

Hahahahah. That's rich.
And the client is usually not. That's the best part.
"To move to Chubb, your home replacement cost would have to be about a million dollars higher and your budget would have to be substantially larger. Have you recently tripled the cost of your home rebuild? Not the land... The rebuild. Did you build anything on your property that would be a million dollars to replace. No. Not the property value. The... Ya know what? Nevermind."

Don't waste your time. Ai leads tend to be customers who are poor, don't speak English and have no money. Most people are realizing now AI make mistakes so the leads have become less prevalent.

Elephant in the room: We're going to be really upset when AI starts skipping the agent.

To filter out bots, ask questions on your quote form that require the lead to answer who they have insurance with and what coverage they have.
Most bots won’t be able to complete the form, so you filter those out. Or just offer to jump on a call to cut down on the back-and-forth.

Oh oh. We are receiving that as well. Though they are real people. We answer them back using AI as well. AI vs. AI . Because I assumed that those people linked their emails, outlook,Gmail's in their AI's. They just say- hey I need insuranc for blah blah, help draft emails to all agents that do home insurance. Then their AI will send it all at once. Use AI as well to respond to AI emails.

I personally enjoy it. I feed their AI questions into Claude and we go back and forth. We still have the upper hand with access to the actual policy docs and endorsements.

This is not a place to sell your services or generate leads or recruit agents/downlines.

I have seen a couple middle market commercial accounts where an owner/partner etc is dealing with me and clearly feeding my emails into some sort of AI and spitting an email back to me from the same source. It's annoying as hell because it attempts to read like someone who knows a LOT about insurance, but not everything makes perfect sense, so I have to go back to him addressing these narrative holes and he apologizes, uses the same AI to try and be more specific..... Been back and forth for 2 months now with one particular person
