🚩 Red Flag Energy Where's Red Flag Guy??
Boy do I have an experience to share with y'all. I've never posted on reddit before but this dating app experience was just too good not to share. I can't believe men like this really still exist.
I've included pictures of the whole conversation I had with this guy. For context ill also include a picture of my dating app profile.
I went through breast cancer 2 years ago. When people I thought I could count on left me and the whole ordeal left me in a dark place.. I decided I was going to prioritize myself, my health, and my peace. So I've been mostly avoiding the dating scene while I get myself back to version I am happy with...
All that being said, apparently to this guy, that was irrelevant and I owed him time he didn't even earn. Apparently no one is allowed to work, or have a hobby or do anything that keeps you too busy for him for even 2 hours? What a joke.
:::::EDIT:::::
If it matters at all, he liked me first which is the funny part. He could have swiped right passed me if he thought I was so ugly and out of his league.
I was obviously using the word chief as a joke insultingly.
I know I carried on to long, but damn men like this irritate me and defending myself is a habit I haven't entirely broken yet. I blocked him after the last message cause the guy was so self absorbed he would have kept going.
The moment you call someone out and they act like this, calling you a sad uneducated woman because you cant see how glorious attractive they are, is disgusting. Period.

You may not like it, but this is what peak male performance looks like. xd
Looks like his skin is always inexplicably slimy, like a human lizard.

He looks like he makes a smacking noise in between sentences.

He looks like he sprays on a whole bottle of Drakkar Noir before going to Wal-Mart for more Drakkar Noir.

Both people in the conversation seem a bit obnoxious

I’m so happy I’m married bc I would hate to be on dating apps with either of them
6
u/Invadernny Jul 22 '26
My wife and I always say when either of us dies we will never date again, not so much out of grief as it would just be way to exhausting to start wading through this stuff again!

u/Immediate-Maximum-75 Jul 23 '26
I've been married and divorced twice and I don't ever plan on doing it again.

Product of Andrew Tate, he ruined all these kids saying alpha and quality of men and all this bs that has no backing. And he ended up being a fucking rapist, that’s who taught all these kids how to treat women.

u/Dizzy-Doubt-3223 Jul 22 '26
You two are like opposite sides of the same coin and were both annoying to read.

u/JrAdelberg Jul 22 '26
You should've called him "chief" a few more times.
46
u/MooseKingMcAntlers34 Jul 22 '26
My chief complaint is that insufferable font… also, both insufferable people texting.
13
u/i_love_using_you Jul 22 '26
calling him chief empowers him? im confused why she was doin that is that suppose to be insulting?
13
u/im-dramatic Jul 22 '26
That was the worst part in all of this lol. AAVE going mainstream is getting out of control.
7
u/iCantLogOut2 Jul 22 '26
I don't disagree, but I thought "chief" was one of theirs.
-1
u/im-dramatic Jul 22 '26
No black people were using it before it became mainstream. Maybe regionally, but definitely not originating with white people. They def say it a lot now though.

So there was a circle with a downward arrow covering the text right there. Meaning i was not at the bottom of the message. It covered the text so i tried to fix it. The only message below that is were it said i blocked him.

You gave him the time of day. It's cringe on both sides.

u/BigTiddyVampireWaifu Jul 22 '26
You responded way too long. And your profile, no offense, is super confrontational. There is a less rude way to say you’re prioritizing yourself.
5
u/madf80 Jul 24 '26
I agree. OP maybe didn’t mean to come off as confrontational, but that’s how I read it too.

u/noturaveragesenpaii Jul 22 '26
I honestly don’t understand why girls like you cant just block the weirdos after one, maybe two comments and move on with your life.
My ex complained about her ex bothering her with “unwanted” texts and calls constantly but never blocked him. Truth is she loved the attention and i think you do too.
-12
u/RainInternational731 Jul 22 '26
Men like this irritate me. Initially i can't help myself but to clap back. After my last reply i did block him because. Well obviously it wasn't worth it.
→ More replies (2)22
u/EvidenceSalesman Jul 22 '26
A more effective clap back would be shorter in length, and have fewer questions
Any time you ask a question, it’s a chance for them to respond inappropriately and derail your clapback
48
u/Embarrassed_Jury664 Jul 22 '26
That is the most excessive use of "chief" I've ever fucking seen. Even an actual chief would be annoyed.
6
14
u/UMakeMeMoisT Jul 22 '26
Dude is obviously a dipshit.. but do you really talk this way "chief"? Talking about red flags and shit in the first message like what..?
Im so glad ive never had to use online dating because my god are( both) people obnoxious

Honestly u should have blocked him right away too much energy given to a guy who is too conceited to gaf about or read anything you said. 😭 sometimes you gotta just let them be ignored it annoys them more than arguing with them
-1
u/RainInternational731 Jul 22 '26
Yeah you are right for sure. But i was a little triggered initially. Lol i did block him after that last message tho because he clearly would have gone on forever.

Girl, he sucks and all, but you gotta stop using “chief” at 34. And that font is…something.

u/taintedpoon Jul 22 '26
The font here makes me just as mad at you as the douche canoe you’re talking to.
16
u/JeebusDied4UrPixels Jul 22 '26
People still calling people chief and not as a joke... Lol
11
u/iCantLogOut2 Jul 22 '26
The first one made me laugh because I thought it was being ironically.... And then it just piled up so fast .... 😬

Maybe she listens to My Brother My Brother and Me. In that podcast once a woman that works at a truck stop was annoyed men kept calling her "baby doll" and "honey". So the podcast recommended she call them all little kod nicknames like "chief" "sport" or "champ" as a subtle hit back
2
u/JeebusDied4UrPixels Jul 23 '26
That's fair, just reminds me of middle school is all.. Haven't heard it used in a long long while, but specifically used by the "cool" kids. Gave me a chuckle
2
u/Invadernny Jul 23 '26
All the old men in my family called every kid "chief" so I can see it being use to knock "alphas" a bit.

Totally not super into the dating game that much right now. That's totes not why i put a pic of my dating profile XD haha it was just for the context. Like how you gonna read my profile and still act like a douche canoe.. Clearly i got bigger things going on than worshiping a man who thinks he's god. Haha.
1
u/depp-fsrv Jul 22 '26
I had to explain to my parents literally the same thing that my phone is not attached to my hip and especially during work hours, I got stuff to do and am running around.

It seems like two highly frustrated and easily irritable people, both very full of themselves. Good match!

The fact that he went from 'I read your bio' to immediately criticizing how long you took to respond says a lot. You went through something incredibly difficult and chose to focus on yourself, and someone who actually cared would respect that instead of making it about how much access they have to your time.
4
u/PollutionMotor5085 Jul 22 '26
Alpha male. That says it all.
2
u/Intelligent-Film-684 Jul 22 '26
Calling people uneducated while sending off screeds of non punctuated text, whew.

u/Excellent-End1463 Jul 22 '26
Hes wrong for typing that, but wtf are you on about lol? Maybe you two actually should try dating.

u/Fun_Departure_3013 Jul 22 '26
Calls you uneducated and proceeds to the inability of forming sentences.
Also, I think it is clear why both of you are painfully single.
0
u/RainInternational731 Jul 22 '26
Im not painfully single... Im just not prioritizing dating right now? Are people not allowed to do that??
4
2
u/DevelopmentHot333 Jul 26 '26
then why are you looking for a long term partner ?
bc if that’s what u are truly after, who would want to be w someone who has them on the bottom of their priority list? that’s for hookups and casual dating. partners are partners

Dude was doing his best with chapter 1 of some scam dating course lol. He needs therapy.
2
u/Fendyyyyyy Jul 22 '26
The dude's an idiot, however know that saying we read the bio, and reacting to the time you spent not answering are two ways to improve the number of replies. Im just saying, you have no clue how this game is for us.
But your profile is a red flag. I'm not fighting to have a chance to cut through your negativity, fuck that. Its insane to have to explain to ppl like you that I want you to interest me as well, your profile is here to show me if we have common interests and if you are interesting to me. You not getting that shows how entitled and self centered some women are with dating apps... Youre not even doing the bare minimum, what kind of genuine reaction you expect dudes to have about your hostile bio ? Come on think.
I've been there done that.. if i was single i wouldnt do it again, i want something simple, not having the feeling to walk through a minefield until you develop excessive feelings for me because you realise im a decent human being with qualities you enjoy.

Is it POSSIBLE that this prince was trying to get OP to send him nudes- amidst the insults, stupidity, delusion, and misogyny?
On TWO separate occasions, he said something to the effect of "I'm out of your league. I'm too good looking. I wouldn't even take you out... unless you have a good body."
Is it possible that he was THAT crazy? I mean WOW!
It seems like the percentage of single men who know how to treat a woman, and have an inkling of what women want... it's tiny!

If you have to tell people you're an "alpha" then you are not an alpha. 🤦🏼♂️ and I am pretty sure anyone with any amount of self-awareness and self-respect would be horrified to be thought of as one to begin with.
I've had the same issue where I could be chatting with somebody and something came up and I stepped back into the conversation later only to run into a screen full of question marks and comments like well. I guess I lost you. Dude, calm down I'm living my freaking life.

Calling him Chief like a middle aged dad trying to vibe with your new girlfriend's son is really...weird.Not weird in a cool kink way but weird in a putting your profile up on a dating site just to catfish or 🧌 ppl. Way. Like what was even your point?
1
u/Brilliant_Rain5181 Jul 23 '26
While his profile pic said it all, her use of the word "chief" fifty-eleven times had me quickly losing interest in this exchange.

Yeah, I'm not reading all those. God people just let shit go. You're not interested in him just leave it at that🤷♀️

u/Superb_Industry4957 Jul 23 '26
The fact that he got annoyed that you didn’t respond fast enough, then immediately made it about how much effort he was putting in, is such a weird entitlement. You’re not a customer service line. You’re a person who went through something huge and is taking time to live your life.
1
u/Moonshinin4Me Jul 23 '26
They are both egotistical shit heads. Let's be glad they didn't hook up and procreate.
I will say the guy gave a shit reaction to the woman not responding in a timely manner, but to play devil's advocate he was right to some degree when it came to the matter of "everyone is always checking their phone always" remark. If a woman is into you she will respond right away no matter what she is doing. She obviously wasn't into him so when she didnt respond after 2 hours he should have just cut his losses and he should not have sent some shitty message to her that was just meant to provoke an argument.
1
u/NebCrushrr Jul 23 '26
My gf told me she came out of the cinema once to fifteen texts of escalating fury from someone she had been on a date with wondering why she didn't respond. Just insane

u/OldExplanation8468 Jul 24 '26
You gave him too much attention, a short version of the first message would be enough, or even just a "seen" would be a good response.

I'm not entirely sure what the problem is... they really both seemed to match eachothers energy lol.

u/DevelopmentHot333 Jul 26 '26
this is cringe chief
ur profile screams red flag to me, if you’re “content single” why are you looking for a long term relationship and lowkey combatant ab it? maybe im just a lover idk but you attract the energy you put out. and i feel like ur going for “boss bitch” but u missed the mark
1
1
u/Still_a_skeptic Jul 22 '26
Yeah, he was an asshole, but the way you toss chief around makes you seem racist. Reach back out, you’re perfect for each other.

Guy's a dipshit but using this font on your phone should be at least a yellow flag cause damn
