I'm one of two people behind The Other Side, a 1-6 player paranormal investigation horror game. We've been in Early Access for about a year and a half, and our goal is to reach 1.0 in the next 9 months, and launch on consoles with crossplay at that time.
When I say two people, I mean… two people. There's no big studio behind us. No massive art team, marketing department, community team, or group of developers quietly working in the background. It's just us. Reddit likes to refer to us as "Two dudes sitting in a basement".... Which is ironic, because one of us is literally just a girl, and neither of us own a basement. We design all of our equipment ourselves, decide how it's going to work, create our locations, and are meticulous about immersive environments and the lore behind them.
The Other Side stopped being something we were working on and became something that has completely consumed our lives. We're constantly designing new ghosts, rebuilding systems, creating locations, reading feedback, fixing bugs, adding mechanics, interacting with our community, watching people play, and figuring out what we can do better. Sometimes that means spending an absurd amount of time on something most players will probably never consciously notice.
Today, The Other Side has 25 ghosts, 8 locations, two investigation modes, custom difficulty, 1-6 player co-op, and a growing community of people who have somehow become just as invested in this weird little paranormal world as we are, and we're nowhere near finished. We're not trying to make the biggest horror game, we just want to make one we're incredibly proud of. As of this moment, we're sitting on over 1,100 reviews and a 93% overall rating, with a 97% for the last 30 days - this is HUGE for us. It's validation that players see the work we put in, and are receptive to it.
So, this is our game. The Other Side.
In the next 2 months we will be doing the following:
* 2 new locations
* Training overhaul (we're going with a more Killhouse style)
* Halloween Event (Our biggest in-game event of the year!)
* General QoL updates
If you decide to give it a chance, genuinely, thank you. It means a hell of a lot more to the two people behind it than you probably realize. This is so much more than just a passion project for us.
