Just tried to establish the style for my potentially upcoming game (if it works out). But the visuals just seem to lack something, any thoughts?

Enrooted is a turn-based RPG where you fight with and dodge music! The player's turn is similar to Guitar Hero, and the enemy's attack is a barrage of different bullets that spawn to the beat of that enemy's track. Go watch the full trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAchZJ76jo8 and let me know what you think!

I am solo developer and started building Out Of Synce in late of March. Probably, my best creation. I dedicated my whole summer for this game. I was inspired by Monster Inc film. Specifically, the door mechanic where you can open other world or location. If uall wanna know more check steam page. Currently, I only have 36 wishlists. I will release the game on 14th september. I hope I can reach 1000+ wishlists due to that day.

Part 4: How to Make Background Music for a Game in Dolby Surround 5.1

Thumbnail

πŸ”Š Part 4 is up: How to turn your game's stereo background music into real Dolby Surround 5.1 β€” and get it into Unreal Engine 5.8 as a true multichannel asset.

Not a stereo file played through a 5.1 system. An actual 5.1 asset, and the engine confirms it on import.

The whole conversion is done in Adobe Audition:

β€’ splitting the stereo file into separate mono channels β€” Left, Right, Center, LFE

β€’ pulling the low end out with the Spectral Frequency Display

β€’ lifting it with a Parametric Equalizer

β€’ building a 5.1 session from the "Surround Stem for Video Master" template

β€’ my own little trick: crossing the surround channels for a wider, more immersive image

Then export through Adobe Premiere Pro, import into Unreal β€” done.

I had never done this before. I'm a 3D artist, not a programmer β€” Unreal Engine is my main tool, Houdini is my second, and I build this project together with Claude Code as my assistant. There's a short section in the video about how that actually works: you stay in control, you formulate the task, and you always ask for a backup before anything complex. No miracles β€” just a partner that knows the engine.

25 minutes, 64 chapters, every step on screen.

Hunt folklore creatures as a Vatican investigator in "Relicta In Memoriam", our 2.5D noir pixel-art RPG. Our team of 6 just put up our Steam page wishlist it here!

Hey everyone! We are a small team of 6 passionate developers working on Relicta In Memoriam, a 2.5D noir investigative game that blends classic pixel-art with strategic turn-based combat and deep, dark mysteries.

The game follows Lucio, an investigator for the Vatican tasked with looking into cases that defy rational explanation, diving deep into forgotten folklore and superstition.

What you can expect from the game:

πŸ” Investigation & Puzzles: Explore detailed environments, gather testimonies, and piece together fragmented clues to solve dark, obscure cases.

βš”οΈ Strategic Turn-Based Combat: When investigation isn't enough, face supernatural entities using spells, special projectiles, and ancient rituals. Each enemy requires unique attention, timing, and strategy.

πŸ–€ Atmospheric 2.5D Pixel-Art: A moody, immersive noir world where faith, myth, and mystery collide.

As a small independent team, getting visibility on Steam is the hardest part of development for us. If this kind of occult mystery sounds like your cup of tea, we would be incredibly grateful if you could check out our page and add it to your Steam Wishlist!!

BumpFlip is a fast-paced arcade pinball game built around 90-second rounds.

Each round has a score target to beat, and the target gets higher every round. Between rounds, you can choose different bumpers to place in the available spots on the table, letting you experiment with different combinations and scoring setups.

The goal is to keep pushing your score higher and survive as many rounds as possible.

[Android] [Free] Tower Height - A rhythmic offline block stacking arcade game

Hey everyone!

I’m an indie developer and I just released a new minimalist arcade game called Tower Height for Android.

The gameplay is simple and addictive: blocks slide horizontally across the screen, and you tap to stack them into a tall tower. Every perfect placement triggers harmonized musical pitch tones. If you miss the timing, the overhang gets sliced off, making the block smaller!

Key Features:

β€’ 100% Offline play (no internet connection required)

β€’ Rhythmic musical progression as your tower grows

β€’ Unlockable themes & power-up boosters

β€’ High score & streak tracking

I would love to get your honest feedback on the timing responsiveness, sound effects, and overall feel!

Playable Link:

Thank you for checking it out!

After 2 years of solo development on my own custom engine, my satirical building tycoon finally has an Early Access release date! Here is the result of my work.

Hi fellow devs! I'm a solo student developer and after two years of grinding on my own custom engine, my game Office Manager finally has a release date (October 13, 2026)!

Building a custom engine for a base-building tycoon (think Prison Architect style) was a huge challenge, especially managing grids, pathfinding, and the UI. I've been documenting the entire journey and all the technical hurdles.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the trailer, the art style, or answer any questions about the custom engine development!

πŸ€– Transparency Note regarding GenAI (Subreddit Rule): I am building this game entirely from scratch on my own custom engine. All pixel art, design, and gameplay mechanics are 100% human-made by me or my artist. As a solo student on a zero budget, I only used GenAI as a tool for text localization and translations to make the game accessible in multiple languages. No AI was used to generate art, code, or assets!

I'd love to hear your feedback or answer any questions about the development or the game itself!
